This doesn't apply to the Forum. just in-game chats and the lobby chat.

Confirmed by Sacrifice MM only (see below), and applies only to the CHAT.

Funny, with as desperate as Tanki seems to be getting to push people into MM battles, accessing the Forum with a mandatory battle count wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility (I hope this doesn't give them the ideas).

Hello! 

As said above by other users, this restriction only applies to the public chat inside the game. You will need to play at least 3 battles (MM specifically) monthly to be able to chat in the lobby. This would reset every month. So you will have to play at least 3 battles every month. This restriction does NOT apply on the forum. You may continue to use the forum PM and posts as you like, in accordance to the rules. 

This has been done to counteract spam from users. Some players would create alt accounts and spam the lobby with large walls of pointless texts. This way, such an unpretentious situation could be encountered efficiently. 

This is all we can tell you for now.

tanki is at the moment not 100% balanced. with the new ares and tesla it will even be worse. tanki will again make alot of mony from this.

It is like a tax, you pay with MM battles to be able to spam. That should weed out some folks/kids that only come on the chat to spam.
If you are a regular player, you won't noticed that restriction. The problem would be if you only play pro-battle.

Ares flies above the ground yes, just like choppers.
Tesla is better than Isida, very similar on the arcade mode (just a different death ray beam), but the secondary shooting mode is very interesting and offer new strategy.

It'll reduce the amount of spam incidents definitely...

Maybe not significantly, but even a small reduction in such incidents is a relief for both mods and players...

Of course, it's not an ideal solution, but not useless either.
