"Tanki" or "Tanki Online"?

This game was named "Tanki Online" from the very beginning. Ive googled "Tanki" and i havent found a game in that name. So why did the game developers named it "Tanki Online" instead of "Tanki"? 

In my opinion, for someone who have never played this game before, "Tanki" would be a much more attractive name for a game. For example telling someone "Hey! have you seen this cool game named Tanki?" rather than "Tanki Online". Considering that most of the famous multiplayer online games like "Fortnite" dont have Online in their title.

What would you prefer? "Tanki Online" or "Tanki"?

"Tanki" may be a bit too generic for a game title because it literally means "Tanks" in Russian. By adding "Online", I guess the founders tried to highlight the fact that it's an in-browser multiplayer game, which was quite rare back in 2009.

If you search for "танки" on the internet, you just get a bunch of results about real tanks, so "Tanki online" makes the game much easier to find, especially in the early days when the game wasn't popular.

I guess because developers wanted to highlight the fact that this is an online multiplayer game. This game was released 10 years ago. Online multiplayer games weren't a thing in that time. People used to play games like Sniper Ghost Warrior, Prince of Persia, NFS series in their Windows XP or Vista or 7 computers with a very slow internet connection compared to now. Also, accessing internet was very expensive in that era. So that online part was meant to reflect that this game is more modern than the ones people played in that time, IMO

I always wanted a Tanki Offline cause until August 2020, my internet wasn't very good.

By this, I meant I wanted a version of Tanki that could be played offline. Maybe like a singleplayer game or a game with bots to mimic the feel of multiplayer.

Tanki means -Water tank (Container) in Bengali. It is like Water tank Container. Ha! Ha! Ha!
