At the moment you can't, it is fixed to the hull, so to aim with the turret you need to turn the whole hull (with ZX or <>). It is not a problem because you can slide the hul left or right. It takes time to get use to it. However, it is not clear if the turret will be turning when using the mouse instead of zx / <>. 
There is still a lot to do on the developer side to finalize it.

you can with mouse, also try ares in space mode. feels like spaceship, you can stop mid air if you want, and just start gliding again

When it comes to skins, I am happy that Hornet will get a new skin, but the developer who spoke in the V-Log 259 did not mention which skin would be released. I may have missed that information. I am not sure. One thing for sure is that the developer did not speak good English.

 

, so I do not know whether Hornet's new skin would be an Ultra skin, Prime skin or a Legacy skin. From watching Hornet's new skin preview in V-Log 259, it appears that its going to be an Ultra skin, but I am not sure whether both Prime and Ultra would be released simultaneously for Hornet.

1. i think in ufo day because july 2nd (and not 1st) is on thursday
2. they said in ultra containers (maybe the XT skin of new hull will be there too)
3. there still titan and gauss to be redesigned so after them you can expect more skins coming

On this year's UFO Day, it will be something like 30 to 50% for garage items. I have a feeling it would be a combination of both. Possibly 30% on shop items and 50% on garage items. Lets wait and see.

The clip was from a YT vid and that YouTuber decided to use that 'dancing at a funeral' clip because it was a meme. It was used by many around the world. But then questions about the newly hyped tesla turret arises.

 

Will it function in a similar way as my tempest idea?

If so that'd be sick. Would make spectacular light shows in night mode. And would be interesting to see how it'll affect the game other than just another turret that you need to protect yourself from.
