Applying for helper

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think that when a candidate applies for helper role, by applying to the administration for any kind of helper role, be it esports or event helpers.

I think instead of the person just waiting to be accepted and if he doesn't get a reply he's not accepted, i think the administration should inform the person by a PM, rather then the candidate wait, and in his mind he thinks you have forgotten about his application, and then he tries to talk to the admins about it to see if they have or haven't accepted him and then they inform him that they haven't.

i think it's nicer and easier to inform him by a PM that "unfortunately he didn't make it" rather then him wait in suspense for hoping to get it and eventually realising he didn't make, also it's easier on the admin side of it due to them not being bugged whether or whether not they have seen his application or have they forgotten it.

Waiting can just let your hopes down while you wait to be accepted but come to the reality of it.

Anyways think you understand

Have a good day

Declined.

On every Helper application, it already mentions that if you don't receive a message regarding your application within a specific time period, you can consider yourself rejected. Now, that isn't to say that you can't still be accepted, but you should just not keep anxiously awaiting an acceptance or rejection message.

@Mr.Nibbles Hi,

Please actually read what i have written before you decline it.....i clearly stated that i know that is the case, im asking for it to change to a PM from one of the admins, it's just so much nicer and if you reread what i wrote above then all my reasons are there.

Please now that you actually understand, reconsider, also @Maf is actually an admin so perhaps he can answer this better, or @ControlledChaos due to there being some things only admins know about their work.

Thanks for your time anyways, and perhaps the answer to this can be changed.

I read through your entire idea, and understood it fully. You are basically just talking about a "quality-of-life" change, that is seemingly simple to do, but unfortunately, this isn't the case. Many administrators are very busy, and adding another task for them to do (being sending a letter of rejection, worded in a nice, professional tone), should not have to happen. Personally, every administrator I have (and I have LOTS of them) does not have the time to spend on such petty tasks, as they are busy managing their team of Helpers, working themselves, etc.

With this being said, your idea will remain declined. Thank you for your idea, but at this current point in time, no changes will be made.

If you have not heard any news about your application, don't take it as a rejection but only that you are being held in a queue. Remember, unless they gave you an absolute NO, you can still be hopeful. Patience does have it's virtues. The worse thing that can happen is they accept you and then you are now committed and you will see how much hard work you have to put in to get and maintain your position.

You can ask any admin, this will be the same answer. I agree this way of working is a bit frustrating and a torturing experience. But don't feel like you have not been considered, if there is an helper position opportunity and ask people to apply, they are indeed looking at each candidate.
If you start to make a fuss over this trivial thing, you are not scoring point in your favour, just saying.
