We haven't delighted you with new skins for a long time!

 

We want to make up for that time, and show our appreciation for your patience by releasing an extraordinary skin, so please enjoy the all new Hornet Ultra Skin!

 

The appearance of this Ultra Skin really says: «You don’t want to mess with me».

 

 

You can get the new skin from Ultra Containers, which will be sold from 02:00 UTC July 1st until 02:00 UTC July 6th.

 

Open Ultra Containers and you might not only get the Hornet Ultra skin, but augments for hulls and turrets as well (those for Gauss and Vulcan were added recently), the «Crisis» drone, premium and much more.

I actually don't see much difference between Hornet prime and hornet ultra to be honest ! Lemme show y'all the comparison   =======> Hornet Prime

                      =========> Hornet Ultra

As you can see in the new skin the wheels are more exposed and there is a blue head lights instead of the yellow one in Prime. But other than that its the same thing ... I hoped they would give the ultra skin another unique look though !

In terms of overall shape and design they're very similar indeed, but Ultra has many more polygons and dynamic tracks, which give it a lot more definition.

Ultra was meant to replace Prime, as seen from Thunder Viking rework.

At first, Thunder Viking Ultra skins were just Prime but HD. Then they returned the old Prime skins and put the new skins under "Ultra".

So there's no doubt that Ultra somewhat resembles Prime, but there are many small differences.

Yes, @Maf, of course both skins are different, but i guess @Symbolz's point is that the difference should have stood out more... The differences are very subtle, which would make both skins look same in a battle, unless you are close enough...

Much better is to nerf this hornet, i saw very often in MM over 40 kills in 7 minutes with this hull ... 1 kill per 10 seconds is too much!

Oh I fully agree. Anyway, to me the XT line of skins is still feels far better than all of Prime and most of Ultra. Prime and Ultra just look like alternative and somewhat more detailed versions of default skins.

Additional animations of Ultra skins are nice though.

i agree to you , and we want to see more Legacy skins in the game ( We are 2009-2012 since players ) 

For example Shaft Legacy , Frezee Legacy , Dictator Legacy , Titan Legacy . . .

Legacy series didnt finish yet but tanki still brings Ultra skins -.-

I guess it will be the one we were able to use in the test-server, the skin had many details and had more polygons than the usual skins. For Ares' normal skin, it is mostly going to look like the XT-skin without the golden plates

As far as I saw there is little resemblance between the two skins. the rotor-blades on both skins looked different from each other, as well as the side of the tank. Also, I don't find the XT-skin that detailed. 

It is hard to distinct the appearances, I couldn't play with the XT-skin and the other skin is a relatively smaller image. But since Ultra skins have more polygons than default skins - hence they are more detailed and paints appear smaller on them - I am convinced that this is the Ultra skin... 

EDIT: the skin in the garage seems somewhat off compared to other default skins, supporting my assumption even more

This might also be a hint for a future update, where they are transforming all skins into 3D-models, but that's just a speculation

You notice the circle on the top? That is different.

The rest of the plastics look the same. But you can dress it up with paints  can't you?
