Okkkeeee.... I have a couple of complaints.

First off the bat, server lag. Now, I know you guys are absolutely helpless to fix a problem of such scale but maybe instead of fixing it outright, why not attempt to alleviate the issue by possibly purchasing servers here in America, Poland, Canada, etc. This will reduce packet loss over time and therefore decrease lag issues. I read somewhere that all of your servers were in Europe and Russia. As I said, buying some servers in America would be a good idea.

Now. Druggers and buyers. These 2 terms aren't particularly popular but I understand the reason for having them. Without buyers, the game wouldn't be running and without druggers every battle would be the same monotonous process and it would be much slower and quite frankly somewhat boring. But, there are certain things that need to change... For example, buyers who purchase kits and crystals often. I have seen at many points through my Tanki career people who buy kits like Striker, Gunslinger, Cupid, etc, and then they spend their deep pockets of money on crystals to MU these already somewhat powerful kits into M2s. This is unacceptable, because having M2 Hornet/Railgun and M2 Smoky/Viking at such low ranks quite frankly destroys the fun of the game because how is a Sergeant who just barely unlocked his first M1s supposed to compete with someone who has M2s? My solution to this is make a system for kit users that limits their ability to upgrade the equipment until they legitmently unlock the equipment in the kit (I.E. gunslinger has Railgun and Hornet M1 so make the minimum rank they can upgrade the Hornet WO2 and the Railgun WO3 and so on and so forth.)

Finally, balances for the turrets. I'm unsure if you guys did it on purpose but all the same you destroyed some turrets utterly and completely. For example, Isida used to be on of the most effective turrets for flag runners, because of the self healing rate being so high coupled with the good damage. Now, the self healing rate on an M4 Isida coupled with the dmg is barely enough to fill the health of a stock M1 Wasp using a full bar of energy. Firebird's heating rate used to be much better as I recall, and the range and afterburn dmg and normal dmg were much better. Shaft is still OP in my opinion so please don't mess it up. But you get the idea.

This idea is very interesting, I like the concept (which is already used in other free-to-play regarding public battles)

Even I think something needs to give w.r.t friends in public battles. It's not transparent enough currently. But like Cedric says (I didn't think that far initially) the consequence would be that people end up judging each other and starting chat wars. Need to work around that aspect.

The problem is that creating a new account in Tanki is extremely easy to do. Got banned on one? Make another. I appreciate Tanki's efforts to combat this by increasing the rank at which chat unlocks, but I think IP bans should be used less sparingly.

Unfortunately, automated IP bans are impossible to implement for reasons I've already explained elsewhere.

Even IP bans can be countered. you just need to use a different internet connection then IP ban will be countered.

I wouldn't put it that way. It's not like it will completely solve the problem overnight. Otherwise, of course they would do it. :P

No. The mother board has a signature that can't be reset. It's like console bans for X-Box that are dished out by Microsoft. The only way around one is by buying a brand new computer. And even then, your username and IP address would still be banned, and the only way to change your IP is by getting a new internet service provider entirely.

Yes... So basically if Tanki were to hand out computer bans then it would solve the issue of hacking very fast (It would have also kept Moon Silence in the game) but the devs didn't want to do any IP bans because they thought they were being nice, and being nice only encouraged the hacking. :p

If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting that we block computers based on their MAC address, which is assigned by the manufacturer of a Network Interface Controller (NIC).

 

If you ignore for a moment how complicated and time consuming it is to actually find that number in the first place, the action is quite probably a violation of privacy.

First off, you should be posting this in the Bugs and Glitches thread, not this one.

 

This happens because of a pause timer, when you are inactive for two minutes, it automatically kicks you to prevent mults. When you don't load for two minutes, it comes as a positive that you're inactive and are probably a mult, so it kicks you. Just get better wi-fi.

Just played a game of Siege. A marshall wasp/thunder sat there the whole game did not even move and never fired a shot. Everyone killed him at least once because he was just sitting there. His nick: KingArchers. He ended the game in first place with 51 kills and never fired a shot. This is the kind of crap that just makes me boil and why tanki needs new owners, new devs, new mods. If I owned tanki I would fire them all.

That mult had 0 kills during the battle, but also 0 kills at the end of the battle...

Will happen.  Our wiki guys need the necessary time to gather all the new data, screenshots, explanations, compile everything, proofreading and often in many cases waiting for translations if the work has been done by other communities.  It'll be up there soon ;)

Sorry to hear about this.  Although rare, situations like these might happen from time to time.  There's even a glitch that might have caused this, but it could also be foul play from that player.  We rely on your eyes to be able to spot these kinds of battle irregularities.  Please consider using the /vote NICKNAME command to report these on the battlefield and/or to submit a Game Violations report with all the necessary evidence so that our team can take the necessary actions.

Just to pitch in on the discussion about IP and NIC bans, yes developers are aware of all these techniques, no these won't be implemented as of now.  In theory these seem great, but in practice there's a ton of complications that comes with these methods.

 

Consider a case of shared computers at a school or library.  We have many tankers playing from those.  Should we ban the whole pc and all its users cause 1 silly fox chatting on it happened to say what the foxes say?  And that's just scraping the top, there's even more technical reasons why such solutions have not been implemented so far.

 

About the chat however, the rank-limit is working great.  There are far less chat and forum violations now compared to what it was before and with the development of better moderating tools our mod teams will be able to get even more efficient.  In the mean time please consider the following:

 

For forum violations, use the report function at the bottom right of the infringing posts and forum mods will attend to it right away

For in-game chat violations please use the command /block "nickname" to block the persons who are offensive

Alternatively you can report it in the Chat violators section of the forum.  Specific section rules apply.  Read before posting there

For other in-game violations (cheats, hackers, sabotage, mults, etc ...) please see the Game violators section and report there.  Specific section rules apply.  Read before posting there

As for violations in personal messages (pm) we understand your indignation, but PM are personal space.  So just get rid of the pestilence by adding them to your Ignore List and they won't be able to pm you any more

whats going on with client as of late i keep getting error messages an get booted from battle its only been like this last couple of weeks ive uninstalled an reinstalled a few times hasnt changed much mainly happens on medium to large maps
