How come developers rarely listen to players? I'm pretty sure a large percentage of Tanki is unhappy with the latest updates..

Hi, ShaftBusted here Real name Oliver.  I have been playing tanki 5.5 years, I love it if only we could resolve the imbalance of games, the mults yes they still exist to this day, the hackers and the over powered mega tanks. 

 

I have multiple accounts and in three I have made purchases for crystals; but I will not buy anymore.  If we the players and the developers can not work out a way to make the game fairer to all.  ShaftBusted is my highest account, I paid to receive crystals to buy my first M1.  Seemed important once.  I will be honest I have multiple accounts for 3 reasons, First, when I started I played my first account until I was warrant officer 1 and found everyone was drugging and there were no cool downs and I had no crystals to buy and no want to play with power ups.  I created a few more accounts every time I ranked to warrant officer 1.  I actually wasn't particularly good at tanki in the first 4 accounts but loved to play where it wasn't all about the drugs. This was back in the day of 1-10 crystal drops.  Second I would start a new account every time there was a sale in the garage so I didn't have to play next to all the over powered tanks in the same rank class as me.  Third I started to help new players whom seemed to be having difficulty using the rail and making shots. Trainning them on all that I had learned in Tanki.

 

After my 5th account was almost warrant 1 I went back to my first account to try and play there thinking I could handle it as I had more experience now.  To my surprise Tanki awarded me crystals for coming back after a predetermined time.  It was about 2200 crystals.  I did do better in my first account from all the practice I had had in 4 other accounts and by being able to ask questions of other players from time of recruit. This too was a reason why I have multiple accounts because they would give free crystals if you were away for some time. Now they give premium accounts.

 

I got to rank warrant 2 with my 5th account and created another account, Shaft_Buster because I was always getting blown up with one shot by shafts.  I thought now my mission was to do to shafts what they do to me.  I have 4 accounts named Shaft_Buster, and with each I got better at sniping shafts.  I still find I like the game play from recruit to warrant 3 best.  Until recently anyhow, now we have hackers and raiders at rookie level.  I witnessed a tank being shot a total of 9 times by three tanks me included and he didn't die , he didn't have a shield and he didn't repair.  He killed me in three shots with his smokey and I had a shield. With the likes of that who would want to play. What kid is going to try tanki and get abused  by over powered and indestructible tanks and have (mults) players who do nothing to help the team or only help the opposing team, and not be able to text anyone including a mod to ask about if its normal, how to get help and cope with it. They should be asking how do I get crystals when the other team annihilates me every time.

 

My ideas for fixes 1) just have a battle button instead of one for red and one for blue.  Write code that checks for every player going in that checks the tank profile (what is probable equipment) for that tanks rank and lock it in, so no upgrades in battle and no switching tanks.  This would stop hacking I think as the hacker changes parameters of the game to give some advantage.  It would be outside what the code recognizes as to be valid and if a hacker tries to enter the server kicks them out.  Dedicate a server to hackers and let them battle each other.  The single button is to place tankers by their rank on the players status bar so no team gets too many good players.   Write code that reads who is most modified and legally so in their rank.  Next place a fair amount of powered tanks on each team. 

 

2) what to do about raiders who place mults on one team and then make them leave, or stay if need be to have an unfair advantage.  I know tanki has reduced the time you can stay still in a game before it boots you out.  I used to train players in maps and while explaining how to make a shot I would get kicked because i didn't move enough and now the time is shorter than last year. Write code that detects if the player is moving, if not moving make sure tank is not upside down and not texting; but also check if tank is only texting.  If not playing and not texting remove them, if only texting  and move little bit then texting then remove them.  If 5 players leave within a few seconds of each other or there is some imbalance in players check to see which team is winning if they have less players wait if they have more players eject the same number of players from the winning side.  They can re-enter and the code in step one will distribute them back into the game by strengths.  Write code to check for prolonged collision of same side tanks  to stop raider team from interference of what was winning team from keeping opposing (losing team) from getting points.  Like holding a tank against a wall or blocking the flag point.

 

So basically write code to check for all possible upgrades of any tank hull combo at every rank, distribute power evenly and  check for stationary none playing tanks, and check that balance of teams doesn't change toward the winning team. 

 

3)  This is something that has only just happened to me in the last 3 days but I have used tanki on the same p.c. for the last 3 years.  Nothing has changed and just 3 days ago all was good.  I have checked my internet just before going to game and i have unlimited bandwidth and it is running same as always.  I have today March 6 2017 experienced it 5 times.  I will be driving and swiveling my turret to shoot and the screen freezes and I either have over turned my turret to shoot an opponent or driven off the cliff I was on.  I look down and no change in my ping or fps.  I think it must be server related as I have also seen opponents skip across the screen and take no damage when shooting them.  I have played long enough to know what lag is and its not that.  A second problem is making long shots with the rail between a building and a bridge, the rail shoots the ground and in open shoots to high.  I have been a practicing sniper for 3.5 years now I know how to make the shots up, down or straight.  This is some hacking on your server end. 

 

Last server end issue is being booted from a game.  Why is that happening when I play EN servers from 5pm to midnight but not in Russian servers at same time or ever in a twelve hour period on the Russian servers March 4th 2017.  I was on all night not once got kicked.   I usually get kicked when I am doing exceptionally well in a game, keeping my team from lossing from an obvious raider team.  I feel it is a hack as sometimes I have to restart the browser; because I am sent to no mans land, I just see a grey screen not the lobby.  Like not spawning into the lobby.  A few times I didn't even get my crystals. 

 

A good tanki friend of mine had this to say to me of Tanki 

" The reason we are both still in Tanki is because, despite the hackers crackers, buyers and criers, raiders and tiraders, it's still a wicked fun video game.
 

It could be world class if they would quit wasting their energy on tweaking and work on making the game more playable by the general public.  They need a LOT more 'normal' gamers to be having a good time in there, and not let the game be deferred to the cheats and bullies.
 

You will probably agree with me that its charm is that it acts like an 80's arcade shooter and yet has all the good bells and whistles of a modern MMO.  All they need now is to implement some tighter security.  They keep talking about 'balance' but do nothing to correct the real causes of imbalance.
 

You know it can be done when in Roblox a live moderator can crack on a guy for posting a selfie before he even knows the game has already autosaved his imported jpeg."

Its not fair xp/bp official  in-games are allowed only for m2 rail & hornet.I in my opinion it should be changed & the modification of rail should not matter pls allow it for mOs as well because mults  enter & ruin the whole match.I hope u will take this into consideration.

EDIT: It reminds me of some hopeless attempts to load the garage... waiting and waiting and waiting... and then being removed from battle.

tried today after months and moths on main acc..still same logic..and,FYI I've never missed this,just got in after friend asked do I still play :D

 

few smarter free players with druggs who know how to save..rest are selfassured "best tanki players" with parents credit cards trying to solve their RL frustrations with ingame druggs :D :D

 

a hint..just leave guys..just leave..don't loose years here like I did..

although,u shouldn't give Hazel hard time about experiment,heck,it's experiment,at least they try to fix gaps,ur hate and ego here won't help u,like didn't help me too,in times when I did the same,then got tired and left..

yes am having same problems currently,
when this will be fixed ? its unbearable to play like this, even with low graphics,,,

now apart the one mentioned above am having this troubles now.

 

 

now from this picture u can see that ,
1. i can see them whos name is dark colored but they can see me, and even they can kill me,,
2. my ping and fps are fair enough not to have these kind of troubles.
3. yes when i refresh then i can see them,, now for how long i need todo this , its really annoying todo again and again.
my point is , am here to play not each and every-time i need to refresh browser to-get something playable...
+people are buying and is this the kind of product that Tanki online is giving to consumers ??

y does Tanki mechanics works right on the servers directly?? this is the main cause of lags.
y can them built their upgrades in only 1 specific server and avoid to intervene other servers, when the update they are working on is completed then upgrade it when the server restarts.
another choice, y cant tanki invites players to test servers, tanki mechanics and players will be at peace....

 

i dont mean, i dont like upgrades, the only thing am looking forward, is to have a bit fun without that damn stupid lags please.

It's not properly a complaint but more a suggest if i can:

due all the changes like a beta game to all weapons or hulls and so on, why don't you give the possibility to the players who buy a particular thing that is changed to choose if have it or take back the cristals?

or give to the palyers the possibility to reset is tank ( with everything in his garage ) spending few cristals or losing for example the 5% of his amount in cristals?

 

and one more thing, why don't you give the possibility to create his own protection?

These ideas have been suggested before, however they're unpractical for a number of reasons.

That's a problem that happens to a lot of people.  You have to just self-destruct.

I got in a game this morning. I can generally judge about how many kills I had in a game, and I had 25 - 30 kills. Kill counter gave me 10.

 

1. How long do you think people will endure being cheated?

 

2. I am working on a kills super mission. This is like the third time I have been cheated this week!

 

3. We are already cheated by cheaters mults and tanki when your crap crashes and we lose battle fund.  How much more?

 

4. Then we get cheated constantly on your ignorant nerfs. What else?

We are not cheating you. "Cheating" implies someone is doing the action intentionally. What you're describing is evidently a bug. Please report it to customer support.

I complain about those moderators who have a certain degree of incompetence.

 

Especially about those in the German community. That's why I switched to the English community. But I do not like the work of some moderators here too, because I assume that they are exactly as crystal vultures as in the German community or rather inactive - my second idea has still not been published for days..?!

 

And when I look at the application templates so, I laugh at one & do not wonder about some moderation areas that they have such a bad reputation.

Yea, that's true, the reporters are the only ones who do their work well & can not assume that they only sacrifice their time because of the crystals. Keep up the great work! ;-)

But this is not my point, however, it is that some helper areas are underdeveloped. And complaining to the responsible administrators brings also nothing - they are all under a blanket.

Making a general complaint isn't going to improve anything in that area unfortunately. If you think sending a pm to the administrators isn't going to help, then you should send a pm to Cedric about it.

In the German server, I would now get a spell for "discussions about the work of the moderators", but here it is not so, this is something that I like in the English community more freedom to express its own opinion.

Still public discussions about the work of moderators is not allowed here either, but this means that you should not publicly discuss specific actions done by specific helpers. That is precisely why you should contact the aforementioned people in pm. If you want to see changes, you have to show them where the flaws are, so they can take action. And I can assure you that the community manager would want to hear about it if certain moderators don't perform like they should.

I do have to agree with CooperO that your best chance is probably just PMing Cedric about it since he's fairly willing to listen and whatnot. Administrators (from what I've seen) tend to run by the rules they set instead of thinking around pride and reputation to fix problems, so it's better to just go straight to the top.

After a week's absence I came back to see the same, miserable drugging unbalance / lagging nightmare / mults defiled battles which you call contemporary Tanki.

I think I will renew the absence, maybe for more than a week.

I noticed thought, that players' base is decreasing steadily. In a way it is a pleasure to see this, because soon the druggers will be left by themselves and the total of english servers will collapse to half a dozen battles running, at least for the high ranks. Which is less than the minimum required, for the game to be sustainable.
