I once already had this problem. It ended that you've lost your crystals, because apparently it does that when you buy it and your wife isn't connected or the connection is really poor, so the signal isn't sent and the crystals are automatically removed, but the data isn't transferred to your account, so you do not receive any pro battle pass. Sorry for that, hopefully this can be helpful to you for the next time you're thinking of purchasing one! :wub:

Ok, so a few months ago I created an account called Drone, which I thought was quite a cool name.  I parked the account, ready to play it this summer, only to find that Tanki has introduced drones into the game, and presumably as a result, renamed my account r_Drone5.  Seriously?  r_Drone5?  You couldn't have given it a slightly less absurd name, or perhaps even gifted me a free rename pass?

Did you buy anything on that account? Even if you bought the $1 bundle for all M0 equipment, it would have "reserved" your name for 3 more years from your last login.

 

However, you should have gotten an e-mail that your handle was requested by someone else and that it would expire if you do not log in a week from that notification.

Unfortunately I didn't buy anything.  If I'd have known I'd have definitely made a purchase.  And no, there was no notification that it had been requested by another player.

The problem is that Tanki asks for a fresh email for every account created.  It's hardly surprising you don't make logging back into it to check for unexpected notifications part of your daily routine.

I think it was about one or two yeras ago, when Tanki introduced a feature, that allowed to reuse "abandoned" nicknames.

It works like this:

 

 

Player_A creates an account, plays it for -what-ever-time- and then stops to play that account.

Later a player_B tries to register a new tank, enter his nick of choice, and the system finds this nick already used by player_A. Now the system checks how long player_A has not used his tank any more.. and if it's long enough, the nick is set available again.

Player_B may use the nickname; player_A's tank gets renamed to r_NickName.

 

The inactive time that has to pass, until a nick becomes available again, depends on the rank of the player.

edit: the official table stating the inactivity times can be found in the TankiWiki.

 

 

 

As you can imagine, this is a very useful feature.. there were soo many nick names locked up by players <10k xp, which have been inactive for years. But of course it's risky if a player does not know about the feature at all, and thinks his parked tank nick is save.

 

 

So this is what happened to your name. You did not log in for long enough, and someone else found this nick was worth a try.

I am sorry for your loss.. it was a real coll nickname. You can't get it back (except the new drone is inactive for the specified time); but you can try to get your r_drone renamed.

As you already lost your nick, it does not matter if you have purchased stuff; an linked email address (and access to it) is enough to "validate" your identity.

Ok, thanks BlackWasp.  You're right, it is a useful feature.  Maybe it would be better to have a pop-up appear after account creation though, rather than in the wiki.  And maybe a little bit longer breathing space should be given for non-purchasing accounts. It was only a few short months ago.

I would like to complain:

• MMS absolutely sucks. I don't want it improved, I want it gone.  At best, it should only be offered as an option. I hate not being able to choose a map I want to play on. It has destroyed the game on many levels. Stop trying to be like everyone else.
• Overdrive: get rid of it; it has ruined the game
• Supply Missions: get rid of them; it is ruining the game
• Drones: to gimmicky - a cheap thrill. Their inclusion makes TO appear immature, trite, and juvenile. 

As a result of the above, the game is NO FUN. I won' be spending any more money. And finally, I know you really don't care, and so don't pretend that you do. There now, I feel better.. even though I already know I'll be provided no relief.

Some tanks seem unbeatable which is very suspicious. Often they are using freeze which seems to be at M10 level.

 

The same few maps make up 99% of battles.

To let off steam at the end of the day. Sometimes there's an enjoyable battle on a map like kungur, but it's luck of the draw.
