There is no reliable way to make teams even automatically. It requires subjective judgement, good judgement, and lots of experience. That isn't going to happen in an online game, ever. MM does work, and it won't. There should be no requirements associated with MM. Missions and rewards should be completely freed of MM requirements.

yeah but the least they can do is make it 8 vs 8 and keep it 8 vs 8, with higher ranks distributed equally across both teams.

this should not be hard to do, and yet it doesn't happen very often.

Often one team has all the higher rank players, and at other times, play goes on with 5 vs 8, with no replacement coming in. And this when the team with 5 players is actually LEADING a CTF game.

It gets very frustrating at times.

They are just not interested in fixing MM.

They think better way to earn money is by selling shot colours and fancy paints, rather than improving gameplay.

Thank you. I believe you are correct.

Well, Bydo, I agree, but I can't bring myself to click the Like. Fun is the key. If you are having fun, good on ya. I play Ricosck most of the time now, and it is Ricochet-Dictator. Ricochet is the best overall turret if you gain skill, so I encourage you to do so, but, it is your account and your time. I'll acknowledge you positively regardless. (And your stats are respectable. Props.)

Side note, I consider Isida the easiest turret, the laziest for those wanting lazy play. Rico is easy because of the bounce. Of course, one needs some skill in good bounce aiming, too. Thunder is almost as good as Rico. A little more skill is required. For the truly skilled players, Rail is still the best, with Smoky mostly its equal, especially for those with exceptional skill and understanding of the Smoky strengths. Twins is good for brawling, and it requires solid persistence, balls on target, or get a different turret. The short range weapons are still the most OP, but more folks have learned to keep distance a little better. Magnum and Striker have their odd characteristics that make them OP, but I don't see them as problems, as I do the short-range OPs. The others have their pros and cons, but my main gripe is how the Devs keep changing things around so much players who get good at something feel cheated. Twins and Vulcan have had the most changes in my experience.

I admit I have no inside information, but it seems clear to me Efficiency Rating is the primary sorting criteria. Gear Score has been stated as not considered in MM. It seems obvious it is not. Some still think so, but GS is TOO variable and meaningless to be used for anything. I can enter a match with GS of 2000 and drop to the garage and come back 9200. Using GS would be wrong on many levels.

We must see what map we will play before starting, and be not able to change in the round. So there would be a way to do matchmaking according to our GS points.

Magnum with mines alteration is really bad. A nerf is needed ASAP. You could make the mines disappear after 30 seconds or so.

According to the Wiki, they already do.

They do disappear.  But since they last 30 seconds (or until stepped on) and Magnum can fire every 5-7 seconds? they can have ~ 4-7 mines mines going at all times.

It is actually better for the Magnum to miss and plant a mine since most players don't have/equip Mine-modules and the mines do more damage than a direct Magnum hit.

Now imagine running over these mines in a Pro-No-Supply-Battle  :o

Sadly they disappear... I bought that alteration without knowing it (in the garage description they don't say it), now I think it is pretty useless. I know it could be to OP if the mines were permanent, but lasting 30 seconds is nothing! They should make a limit in number, not time (for example maximum 10 mines at the same time, like the drone miner works).

Anyway, tanki went from being a play for fun to be a play for complete missions. I remember the old daily gifts, when players were joining battles just for the sake of it and not for catch boxes, be first or capture flags. By now I enter the game only for doing 1/2 mission per day, it is not fun anymore because the battles are full of druggers and often very unbalanced.

See my post above yours.

Used correctly that alteration is ridiculously OP.

Good rewards. Got the same mission for only 3150 crystals. Really Tanki Online ?

You could use the crystals to buy the same amount of drugs and still have some left over...

Yes, that's why I suggest to put a limit on the number of shooted mines that can be present at the same time (for example you can have 10 mines, if you shoot again the n°1 disappear).

Hi

Quick suggestion for ya'll in our wonderful Forum Moderation team.

Please can you PM us with exactly why and how our posts violated the Forum rules before you remove them in the future? I mean, don't bother with trolls/spammers etc, but I'd appreciate some helpful feedback so I don't keep making the same mistake! :)

And no, I don't have the time/energy to PM a Forum Admin. I like an explanation to be already there for me to read, rather than having to ask for one(and possibly wait a long time for it).

Thanks a lot!

Is there some reason the crappiest map ever in Tanki can't be restricted to DM?

Massacre map stinks. It is total crap. I run into invisible walls. Shafts make team battles entirely futile, especially when only one team has any.

Please! Stop using Massacre for team battles in MM.

Hi, I'm not from Forum moderation team but my colleague @CooperO will confirm that the system works the same for all teams: if you have a complaint about warn/ban or hidden message, you have to contact administrator of the team in question via pm to ask about the reason and you'll get the answer as soon as possible. The same has been written here. It's the only way such complaints can be discussed in order not to flame channel chats and forum topics and to protect player's privacy. If you don't have the time or the energy to contact administrators, your loss - we certainly have time and energy to answer each and every complaint.

Hi, I'm going to have a little catch up with Cooper anyway later and find out what's been going on.

Anyway, I honestly don't care if an occasional post of mine gets hidden - especially if I myself was a little uncertain about posting it. It's when literally every single post you make is getting hidden (and apparently for no reason given) that you begin to feel like you're being personally singled out. I don't have time in my life to PM a Forum Admin every time a post gets hidden (and also without checking back you sometimes don't notice your post was hidden, reference it and then feel rather stupid when no one else knows what you're talking about.

The post you quoted was hidden earlier, so I am now rather amused to see it now un-hidden. I know it's difficult to apply the rules in a uniform manner (every single Moderator uses his/her own personal judgement to decide whether something is a violation of the rules or not), but often it is very disconcerting when posts get hidden/edited so liberally.

I mean, this is a topic designed for complaints, and I wasn't singling anyone out personally in my post (nor did I name anyone) so I honestly don't see what grounds the Forum Moderators had to hide it originally.

While I understand Helpers are volunteers (having been one myself) maybe you should be putting them through some training (indeed, many Helpers on the EN forum seem to have a pretty limited understanding of the English language) to help them understand how to apply the rules (though I understand this is not my call to make, I'm simply giving an opinion - don't take offense).

Of course, but dealing with complaints is rather known and uniformed process that remained the same for years now. As a former helper, you should know that better than anyone.

So once again, a reminder for you and anyone else - please contact administrators directly from now on via pm, if you have any complaint regarding your warn / ban or hidden posts / topics on the forum.

By now you moderators should have a clear idea about what's going on with hidden posts. Telling us to contact administrators is like giving us a runaround, and that's why we aren't contacting the administrators.

The issue is very obvious that telling us to PM administrators is like an insult to injury.

I'd like to write a couple of points about this, if possible :)

  • There is no thing such as "personal judgement" involved into evaluating what breaks the Rules and what doesn't - there are specific guidelines to follow and, as you can imagine, even Rules and guidelines can lead to different interpretation from Helpers with less work-experience or in uncommon/unclear situations. It is not a matter of personal judgement, I'd call it "specific evaluation of the situation and consequential comparison between the situation and the Rules/guidelines" - after doing this, a Helper will define his/her next actions based on what he/she can refer from the Rules and guidelines and also based on his/her experience.
  • Helpers are volunteers, indeed, but they all do have to spend "candidacy periods" before becoming autonomous. You may have seen some "candidates" around Chat and Forum for sure - they are doing the very same things that "full Helpers" do, but with strict supervision of older Helpers and Admins. So, all Helpers have received specific training at one point in their career and even older Helpers have to refresh their knowledge every once in a while because Tanki Online Community is a dynamic system.
  • Language can be a limitation, but I assure you that all the times an Helper has doubts about a translation he/she'll ask to the most appropriate colleague before acting :)

The issue is very obvious that telling us to PM administrators is like an insult to injury.

Administrators MUST deal with certain stuff in private as to protect users and Helpers privacy. Let's call it a sort of "Law Court" - you'll never see a judge dealing with legal stuff in public.

If there are issues and complaints, you'll deal with them in private directly with the interested individuals.

Also, Administrators are appointed as "super-partes" and "neutral entities" from the CMs in virtue of their acknowledged comprension and understanding of the Rules and their neutrality into Helpers-Users quarrels, if any.

An issue can be as obvious as the sun shining in a sunny day, but it's common sense that you deal with it directly with the interested individuals and not in public - you do not go around beating it because that will simply be the best way to show off yourself, this being valid both in real life and online.

If you do not want to contact an Administrator, you will be the one renouncing to your so wanted clarifications of the problem.

No it's not, it's included in the game rules that the administrators should be contacted for such cases via PM. On top of that, as already mentioned earlier, public topics aren't the place to discuss moderator actions to avoid flaming or derailing forum topics and to protect the privacy of players.

  • Language can be a limitation, but I assure you that all the times an Helper has doubts about a translation he/she'll ask to the most appropriate colleague before acting :)

  • I know there is through experience, and you're either delusional or being downright dishonest if you say otherwise. There are many many many instances that I see in the lobby chat where different Chat Moderators respond to the same scenario in different ways. I'm not saying this is wrong or anything - we're all only human after all, and who wants to be moderated by robots? What I meant with "personal judgement" is what I have said above - I didn't mean personal bias or anything like that. And no, it is personal judgement (a personal "take" on the grey area between a downright violation of the rules and something that has been said in pure innocence), no matter what flowery description you try to lable it as. :)
  • Yep pal, I was also a candidate once. I know to a certain degree how things work, but you realise that even in the real world (in an important job anyways) it's not simply enough to be qualified (passed your candidacy). You're not "sorted for the rest of your career". Refresher courses etc are often useful.
  • I'm sure they do. But as an example, Chat Mods have to deal with sudden potential chat violations all the time - and it would clearly be stupid and unwise to consult a colleague before acting, as damage could be done in the meantime. So no, it's not at all times as you say it is.

On an unrelated side note, welcome back! I thought you were still away.
