Stop complaining about Match Making. Developers are trying hard to balance it, you try coding. It will take FOREVER.

Then they should have tested it more before rolling it out.  Match-Maker is so broken right now. 

They would have been better off taking their time and getting it right.

It's almost like they ignored all the results from the test they did last year.

 

I think if they made the teams strictly by gear score, say you are an 8000 you go here, you are 7400 you go here. It is the gear in many games that is the most unbalanced. You have Legends playing with M2 sometimes and 4 stars playing with M4 plus alterations plus lots of drugs.

 

 

 

I played a Rio game the other day where there was a Legend that was pitiful. I don't know what he had spent all his crystals on but it wasn't equipment. He had an M2 hornet/rico and no drugs. I felt so sorry for him I would just let him shoot me and drive on past him because one-shot and boom he was dead. I think he finished maybe 2-20. Horrible. Once you get in that position where you have wasted your crystals it would be almost impossible to catch back up.

The devs won't get stuff fixed as it is, if we stop complaining about it they will never fix it.

 

 

Problem with Gear-Score is... it is based on what you have equipped.

 

If I equip a bunch of m0 stuff from my garage, will it place me in battles with weaker tanks? 

That would be awesome in DMs.  Once in battle I visit garage an equip my real items.

One of the biggest problems in MM is that there are many mobile players. They can't even play. Personally, I tried the mobile version and I couldn't do more than 40 scores within 8 mins. I was a mult in our team. So, there should be a way to balance this, perhaps separating the players on PC and on Mobile or placing players equally like 2 mobile players for both teams. I honestly believe the second one would work well. (I don't know if the current system works like this btw)

 

Matchmakers must do matchmaking according to GS points, I will admit that to enter a battle with M0 equipment would be used by many people. But it's not that hard to make it impossible to change in the game and make us able to see what map we will play before.

The Mods have stated plainly and repeatedly that Gear Score is NOT used with matchmaking.

 

16 players are chosen by rank. Then they are sorted into teams, trying to balance by Efficiency Rating and other undisclosed factors. Well, everything for sorting is undisclosed. We don't know, but Efficiency is almost certainly the primary criteria.

 

The problem is NOT gear. GS doesn't consider which gear, just how high it is MU'd. GS is meaningless, and it would be despicable if Tanki used it for criteria for anything.

Gear Score is totally pointless for matches.

 

If I have an M4 turret, 2000, M4 hull, 2000, Fully MU'd drone, 1000. So, 5000 GS no matter which ones. As Blue in Assault, is M4 Wasp worth as much as M4 Titan? Of course not. One drone will be important in a particular battle, but another would be useless in that particular battle, yet both are the same GS value.

 

Three modules of 50% are 3000 more GS, yet it doesn't matter which ones. If my team is fighting 3 Rails, 3 Shafts, and 2 Isida, yet I equip protection modules for Fire, Thunder, and Smoky, what good is that?

 

Supplies are worth exactly 1 GS each, up to 300. So, if I have 300 each (or 2000 each) of all six supplies, I have 1800 GS. But, consider: If I start a battle with 8 batteries, 10 mines, 10 speeds, 10 double armor, 10 double damage, and 7 repair kits, I have only 55 GS. YET! here, the 55 GS is the same as the 1800 GS because I have all the supplies I can use in 8 minutes. In this instance, 1800 GS difference is totally meaningless. the 55 GS is exactly the same as the 1800 GS for the supplies consideration.

 

Another way to see a very significant difference in Gear Score is to be short one microupgrade level for turret, hull, drone, and the three modules. Is M3.19 equipment noticeably, on average, any less effective than M3.20 (M4)? You know good and well the drop in GS is much more obvious than the actual difference in the equipment.

 

Get it?

 

Gear Score is a prestige score, or more accurately, a superficial estimate of how impressive your current tank configuration is.

 

There are plenty of players in the game who have specialized on a turret. Consider a Titan with Rail or Shaft. The player may have fully upgraded equipment and the drone (fully upgraded) that suits that player and the playing style. That player may be very good with that tank configuration, but assume the player either saved up long and patiently or simply dropped some cash into getting new equipment. Now the player has the exact same gear score with all the new equipment fully upgraded. Let's assume the new equipment is a Wasp-Striker or a Hunter-Twins. Now, the player enters a battle with the exact same Gear Score, but no experience. All the player's skills are wrong for the new equipment. All the player's tactics are ineffective for the new equipment. It will take many hours of battles for the player to develop the new expertise required. Gear Score is meaningless as a measure of general effectiveness.

 

Gear Score is in no way indicative of ones usefulness in a given battle.

 

Gear Score in no way takes into account the suitableness of your configuration for the given battle.

 

Gear Score in no way considers whether you are having an off day or an exceptionally great day.

 

Gear Score in no way considers whether any of your teammates think like you and play with a complementary style.

 

Gear Score in no way takes into account how lucky you get in being in the right place or wrong place at any given moment, and how often in a battle one befalls you over the other.

 

Efficiency Rating kinda considers some of those factors, but only in your long-term average performance.

 

Though this post has grown overly verbose, I do hope the point comes across. Gear Score does not and must not factor into sorting teams. It is woefully inadequate and even counter productive for comparing one player to another.

When I change a DM mission I shouldn't get another DM mission.

 

Why do you think I change one mode mission?

 

And who likes that unbalanced ASL mode?

I feel your pain, but it is just luck of the draw. My biggest peeve in missions is when not liking the reward, I change it and get the exact same reward for an even hard mission. Go figure. Again, it is just the luck of the draw.

It looks like there's a hack that makes tanks very hard to kill. AbsoluteZero was also talking about it.

Yeah - I was playing in MM sandbox and I shot the player with the hammer whilst she had no double armor and the hammer does 2160 damage with activated double damage, yet she did not get killed - she also had no protection against hammer. I've never seen that kind of thing before, surely it was 100% some sort of a hack.

My experience is with a Hornet/Rail that I thought was MUed to M2+, but when I checked her/his profile it showed that it was both M1, which even if MUed to M1+ we know that Hornet and Rail are not as strong at that MU level.

 

That tank was strong and fast in a battle with M1s and M2s with alterations and drones off. S/he was also using other hacks.

I've seen it many times, but it seems so hard to be sure. There are a lot of what-ifs, especially counting drones.

Because I was trying to complete the Finish Top 3 Weekly Mission I have quit many battles in progress and those where I was one of the lower ranks.

 

I think this mission is one of the reasons many quit when the enemy gets ahead in the score.

They either need to be removed completely or changed to "finish top 5 in winners team and/or finish top 3 in loser team". The good thing about these missions is that we have to earn them and not be a mult.

They absolutely need to be changed.. Might not need to be quite that drastic... top-4 winners top-2 losers ad you may have more players staying to finish battles.

 

Speaking of "finish battles"... that mission when you get "Finish 7 battles in ____ Mode" is kind of ridiculous as well.

By the 6th or 7th one you may not care about results and become a mult through apathy.

Kits Siberian and Osaka show up in the Shop of my WO1 account, are those really available for purchase at that rank?

 


 

Fighting against Groups of hackers is not fun, lot of hackers these days. The most used hack seems to be the speed hack. There should be an option to 'vote battle' for when there are more than one hacker or you don't know the name of the hacker.

In a TDM battle last night, my alt (rank = Colonel) had a Captain on our team.  The FIELD Marshalls on other team loved targeting that player.

Captain contributed to our team with a lovely 3-19 record. :angry:

 

There was no inappropriate language.  You seem to be projecting... Yeesh...

Apparently from what I've seen and heard, all kits in the shop have had their unlock ranks lowered by two ranks.  Which means that a brigadier with his mum's or babushka's credit card can have full m4s playing against m1s and m2s.  A warrant officer 5 can have firebird m3.  Now this would be fine except for the fact that THEY DID NOT LOWER THE UNLOCK RANKS IN THE GARAGE.  This will make it literally impossible for free-to-play players to compete even against ranks lower than them.  So what are your opinions on this new update? and if you're a major-colonel, don't be surprised if you get smacked by russian m4s every battle now.  It's just stupid how they're not even remotely trying to hide the fact that they want every free-to-play player to leave the game.

that's right... now it's m2 smoky-titan at gefreiter... m3 freeze at master sergeant... all drones, modules, turrets and hulls M4 at brigadier...

some got more than 2 ranks lower... "second coming" kit used to unlock at WO3 and now it's... staff sergeant. that's 6 ranks lower. 8 ranks earlier than free players

Played at least 10 battles today and literally 1 was decent. The rest were total mismatches with ridiculously overpowered legend groups anhialating teams of lower ranks with a couple of legends, the lower rank team understandably run from battle which leads to that team losing the battle within minutes of start.

Also just had a battle where my team was 8vs7 for the WHOLE battle, and one of my team was inactive. We got obliterated.

Dreadful system, possibly one of the worst additions to any game or other product I've ever seen with my own eyes. The only reason I was vaguely interested in MM was that it might give balanced battles and end multing, it's failed miserably on both cos there's more inactive mults than ever now.

Matchmaking is STILL pathetic. And while I'm at it so is turret balance and map rotation. Same maps over and over again, Yawn!!

On the plus side, nice to get 1 day premium, rinsed it as much as I can be bothered with x2 funds in mismatch battles. And I was gonna buy some premium and battle pass but Paypal wasn't working, so I saved some cash. Thanks!
