Played at least 10 battles today and literally 1 was decent. […] The only reason I was vaguely interested in MM was that it might give balanced battles and end multing, it's failed miserably on both cos there's more inactive mults than ever now.

 

Matchmaking is STILL pathetic. And while I'm at it so is turret balance and map rotation. Same maps over and over again, Yawn!!

 

On the plus side, nice to get 1 day premium, rinsed it as much as I can be bothered with x2 funds in mismatch battles. And I was gonna buy some premium and battle pass but Paypal wasn't working, so I saved some cash. Thanks!

I'll second that.

 

I wonder if Legend15s and other very experienced players' complaints hold any more weight than others? (I know some post from secondary accounts.) Occasionally, I see some support for MM, but it is wishful, hopeful, not concrete. MM doesn't work. Tanki often fixes that which is not broken, yet they keep MM, which is clearly broken.

 

The matchmaking system is a failure. It needs to be abandoned.

 

I'd like to see rewards (missions, et al.) opened to all battles that are not private and are open to more than 12 players.

 

I also appreciate the day of Premium. Good thinking, thoughtful gesture.

I played a couple rounds with OKDad70 today, one with Viking-Twins, one with Titan-Thunder (both M4, no drones). Both were slaughters. The first, with the Twins was hard fought, but my team won 7-0 at about the 7-minute mark. The next was 7-0 at about the 4-minute mark. I got in at the beginning and only had time for 7 kills (no deaths). It was a spawnkill-fest as soon as my team was able to cross the map. What gives? That battle had no chance for the other team from the first seconds. They got zero stars. If I noticed correctly, one on our team received no stars. I assume he just couldn't get in the right place to score any kills during the slaughter.

 

It is sad. MM is broke. BROKE! Fix it. (No, abandon it; make it entirely optional regarding rewards.)

 

With only 7 kills, I must have had enough to get over the no-stars threshold. I didn't notice my score. Seven kills and no deaths with no Stars would have ticked me off a bit more than normal. I'm glad I didn't fall victim to such abuse. The Stars threshold is abuse.

There are a lot of hacks, tanki knows about them but they can't stop them. They don't have the programmers that can, just like they can't fix MM and they can't make paypal work. I quit 8/10 games immediately when I see the cheaters or I see my team can't or won't play. Even then you are still going to lose a lot of games to the cheaters.

 

Now if I check someone's profile they show the signs of cheater instantly. I try to report them but that does no good either.

You and me both know that there's hackers / cheaters but we are wasting our breath as people here will deny it.

 

My only complaint is the game is getting more boring. It's the same few matchmaking maps all the time and PRO battles are very quiet. I can view the entire list of PRO battles without scrolling down - that's how quiet it is. Add to this, the New Years map is deathmatch only so again no variety.

 

I can't see myself playing much in 2019 as it's getting really repetitive and boring. Also nothing left to work towards as I have all M3/M4.

Just had a battle where I couldn't pick up boxes originally - I also couldn't see several of my team members (their names were greyed out on the battle tab).

 

It deteriorated as well though, I was able to capture 1 flag but by 3 or 4 minutes in I couldn't even pick it up. I could still destroy enemy tanks, and I decided to wait till the end of the battle rather than refreshing (it was less than a minute) and I was clear by a 100 points or so.

 

The battle counter timed down to 0 and then rather than the results page I just got a massive lag spike and got kicked - logged back on to find no rewards (including missing 6 stars).

Hey Albion,

 

That seems to be an issue that although appears rarely, is very common and a lot of players are aware of. The solution to this is rather simple and only requires you to refresh. Doing so will result in the glitch disappearing and allowing you to not only pick the drops up but allow you to see 'hidden' teammates. When it does happen, I highly recommend refreshing to avoid this happening in the future resulting in losing more time and stars.

It's been a long time since I've experienced what you describe, but it made me think opponents had an invisibility hack. It all fixed when I closed the client (Alt-F4) and started it again, which immediately re-entered me into the battle. Then things always worked normal.

 

When I have to close the client and restart now, it is for the game just halting. It halts and either has a stationary screenshot, or it goes monotone. I still hear the battle going on, but nothing gives. I usually wait about a four-count. Sometimes it flashes through the couple seconds of the stall and starts working again. Usually it stays stalled. If the battle was almost over, I wait it out. If there is more than a minute remaining, I close the client, restart, and rejoin.

 

Maybe that will help.

The hulls are too weak and too slow. All the hulls should have more hp, except Wasp. All the hulls should be faster, except Mammoth, it should be slower.

 

With a hull that could take more than one hit, and could actually get to the action, the game would at least be less frustrating.

I've been playing with/against people who don't turn their turrets way before mobile was out, there must be a reason why these players refuse to rotate their turrets.

Mouse controls work only in IE and Firefox. If you use another browser you will not be able to turn your turret using your mouse and I do not think many players like or know how to use the keyboard to turn their turrets

The new Tanki appears to be for hardcore players that play in groups, maybe even coordinated, spending some money and hacking.

 

If you want to continue playing just focus on doing one mission a day, and 10 per week cycle, then wait for reset. Want to play more, open a new account, Another solution is PRO Battles. Your are a Legend, you no longer have to worry about ranking up too fast.

 

Learn when to quit. If you can handle the absurdity of Tanki, you can handle almost anything, I think.

I started in early 2014 at the request of my sons. I did quit from summer 2017 to summer 2018 (almost one year).

 

I mostly play Ricosck (Field Marshall) now. I used to think I would gradually build a full M4 garage for OKDad70, but that was before The Great Leveling when they made the equipment much more uniform and much less unique, especially in the handling characteristics. It really hasn't been much fun since.

 

The problem is how each change tends to mess up something I'd gotten good at, or it messes with balance and general playability.

 

New stuff brings in the cash because players want the new stuff now, not after they've earned enough over months. So, they focus on new stuff. It is their livelihood. I get that. They don't get that we get frustrated. They keep getting in the cash, so they keep doing what they are doing.

 

I'm playing again because younger son is. Frustration level is higher than fun level, but it is fun to join battles with my sons. (Eldest doesn't get to play much now.)

 

As to lower level accounts, I have OKDad70 and Ricosck, and four more specialized accounts at lower ranks. I have a hard time playing those because the tanks are so slow compared to the M4s, which are too slow as it is.

I mean learning o quit battles. It's hard for some including me, but many quit as soon as they feel it's hard or that they don't have a chance, and I don't blame them. Edited by r_Issimo2

This is where an early battle termination system would come in handy, like wolverine has said several times.

It used to be like that. Uneven battles (in number of players) were ended earlier.

I kinda agree with you there. I think the heavy hulls need way more HP to really do their job, and the light hulls need more speed. Medium hulls are pretty good the way they are.

Yeah, but it was removed because MMS would supposedly solve that issue. A mistake IMO.

If a payment option is no longer there it means it probably been removed unless an announcement says otherwise. Unfortunately you'll need to find a new payment provider.

Matchmaking was a failure since the first time they implemented and then they had to pull it in order to "fix" it! (like Tanki devs are capable of fixing things!) I had said back then that this system will not work but do you think the head game designer is going to admit failure? We know it is a failure,  the teams are not balanced not only in the number of players but the difference in ranks is what it makes it a bigger failure. The missions are ridiculous also. Seriously? I am going to waste my time to complete a Score 10,000 point in battles for 1 container? or get 5 times top 3 in a winning team for 20 batteries and 20 speedboost? I do not think so! I do not use drones and I have more than enough speed boost and mines to last a lifetime! Yet everytime I get a container, it gives me either speed boost or mines! It never fails!

Once upon a time this was a very enjoyable game, now, I have to wait over 1 min to get in a battle that says the avg waiting time is 19s! (I have even waited up to 6 min before I cancled out and I have the screens to prove it) That is if I will ever get in, because most of the time I get "you have been removed for inactivity" even BEFORE I ever got into the battle!  Oh, yeah, tell me that I need a faster connection than my Gigabit Internet connection or that I need a better PC than my dual XEON processors with an NVDIA dedicate graphics card.

I also found it interesting that when I need to complete a Get 10 points in Control Points battles, i get dumped in to a small map with 2 or 3 control points that are always covered by my team and I can not even get a single point! I think Tanki does this intentionally so we can spent more time playing the game and perhaps get frustrated and spend some money to buy Premium Accounts! (this is of course my opinion) 

 

I would welcome anyone from Tanki to explain why we cannot chose the map or at least see it before we enter so we can be better prepared or avoid the map altogether if we so choose. But then again Russian are not used to having or providing free choice!

Moderators should go as many 20x battles as they can and ban hackers.

 

One hacker was banned because of me a few days ago, I voted and asked others to vote, he got a 30 day ban. He's probably still mad right now.

How do you do that since introduction of MM ? In the old days you could easily find a map with 2 empty slots in the same team, but nowadays ?

Nowadays, with the introduction of the Matchmaking System, you can use the "Group" system to play with your friends/family in one battle, in one team. For more information on this, please see the attached linked below.

Since it is "finish battles" you can go AFK most of the battle and just move around a bit here and there. Because its DM you cant get in trouble for multing as there are no teams that you could hurt. I do think it could be a good idea to always get a different mode when you change missions, though.
