Googlesketchup Map designs (please post map designs here)

i can see it now hornet is using nitro to cross bridge i drug double damage and type this is enigmaaaa! "sparta joke" and railgun ohko

 

anyways this map is awesome chriswu this should be in the game. im sure it would look good in 2.0 as well. i hope the mods/admins/map makers take note it is very well designed to say the least.

 

i have a few questions though...

1 is the ctf enabled?

2 how many players per team?

3 where would the bases be? although i would play deathmatch on this as i usually only ctf.

yes. the flags for the blue team would be located probably where specified in the pic. above.

2 how many players per team?

Based on the scale of things, I would say about 5.

3 where would the bases be? although i would play deathmatch on this as i usually only ctf.

When I designed this map, my intention was to have the team bases around the circled areas.

thanks for clearing that up.

it seems to me blue team might have a defensive advantage depending on spawn points placement but then again it would only bite them when on offensive so i believe it would even out.

one last question the house looking building by the bridges looks to have carports¿ is that accessible?

yes the car ports are accessible. You go across the bridges, then go through the tunnel. From the tunnel, you can go up a ramp to the top of the building. It's a little hard to describe. If you want, I could email you the plan. I just need your email.

i have a gamer email set up @yahoo same id. i can see the the entrance in the first pic if i look hard enough. i was wondering because it will be perfect for shooting right at the blue base flag as last resort to prevent ctf. althoug you should be emailing the plans to a mapmaker im sure one of them on here would take this up.

All of the maps in this thread (and also SuperKid's maps) are awesome and i love them (especially superkid's first and also chriswu's), but I doubt they would make the cut for tanki. Why? Because mehdadoo said that mapmaking for 2.0 and especially 2.5 will be very difficult and will only be for absolute technical geeks, not just simple old google sketchup. Sorry for breaking that to you.

Why do I see loads of awesome maps now, but i used to never see any... :roll:

 

Awesome map chriswu. It looks well realistic, and will suit tanki really well.

 

Monkey, your maps are more complex, but are awesome as well. I like your first tanki map better though to be honest.

not really interested in tanki making them into actual gameplay maps. it was just fun to make the maps....thanks for the comments, shame about your taste in music :)

is you scale of 1-10 set as 1 being highest or 10 highest? because i voted 10 assuming 10 meant highest, just to clarify if it is was vice versa.

 

10 is the highest

i dont see how the map making would be so difficult for 2.0 most games use a map editor once the models are done being made for ease of use to make new maps. i hope 2.0 will still have fun maps and not just jaw droppping graphics maps with crashed planes and trains not that im complaining but simple designed maps are good too.

how do you become one? do you have to have already worked for alternativa or some other company? Or can you just make map designs and submit them to the company as sort of a side job, interest, or hobby?

I advise you to ask about it Figishe. He is one of the oldest mapmakers :)
