However, this was an "unofficial"  name, created by players, and this name was converted to mk8 (by player

Term M4 was used by devs at times too if I remember watching past vlogs correctly.

I don't say they didn't use it, i just said it was created by players. Garage showed that you have an m3 20/20, not m4.

This argument you mentioned, started with me calling my Railgun & Hornet as Mk8. So, I'd like to take part in this discussion...!

Here's the thing. Sometime ago, there was M numbering system & the highest modification was M3. We could upgrade it further & players called the fully upgraded M3 as M4, because it was just easier to call it like that. Just think about it. Which one of these is easiest to type &/or speak.?

M3 plus

Fully upgraded M3

M3 10

M3 upgraded to maximum

M4

You can call this fully upgraded M3 with many names, but none of them wouldn't be as easier as M4 (when typing & speaking both). So, we chose that easiest way & called it as M4. Then devs introduced this Mk numbering system, its max stage was Mk7, so we converted M4 to Mk8. The number after the highest available upgrade. Makes sense, right.?

There's something that we need to understand. Our ancestors invented languages to communicate with each other. Languages have evolved massively to provide us with much easier communication, ever since. That's the foundation of any language; easy communication. There's nothing as absolute right or wrong in languages. We say, Google it instead of saying search for it in the Google search engine. Why.? Because the former is much easier than the later. Same here in Tanki Online. We call it as Mk8 because it's easier that way. No big deal...!

Mk7-20     <<< kind of a shorthand written version of fully upgraded Mk7

Erroneously if I speak about this concept, I tend towards ellipsis and say Mk8 or even (cringe) M8, mate.  Sloppy, but true.  Also, there was never an official M4 (I don't think) but many many players used M4, so i think it applies to the new system and well; Mk8

My Vulcan Mate (M8  Mk7-20  fully upgrade Mk7).  I'll kill you with my Rail Mate or I'll grind you under the treads of my Viking Mate .  I wish I had a Murder Hornet Mate so I could be scary on the battle field too.  I like it, mate.

So... mk7+ then?

I hate it when players say a fully upgraded mk2 is technically a mk3, sorry but technically it's a mk2 fully upgraded. Nothing more nothing less.

I'm messing with u - using the fewest keystrokes in the process.  In the end I don't really have a strong position either way.

Mk7+ is when the Mk7 equiment is fully upgraded and this is the term used by the Wiki.

Mk8 could be by extension used like for all previous stock modification. But here there is no further upgrade available so it is truely equivalant. Those using Mk8 name try to over compensate.

The only true Mk8 is for Team Juggernaut as there is no intermediate micro updgrade and it has its own stats. However even the wiki call it Mk7+.
