Ares is fun to drive....very slip and slide, but basically it moves about the same as a normal hull, but very sloshy.  Reminds me of Bumper Cars at the amusement park.  The OD is a pretty effective one shot kills all kind of thing, but you have to aim it using the hull like a turret.  I haven't timed it yet but seems like it recharges faster than Viking. 

It was cheap enough  at 100 cry that I did speed ups on an MK1 and ran my Ares as Mk1-MU10 (never did a MU1 to MU10 speed up upgrade before...kinda fun too )  Even with all the speed ups, I think it cost about 3000 crystals.  It's definitely worth trying out at least on a newbie account (1400 cry new acct + 2500 cry last day of Challenge1)

 

I just timed it for the OD:  136 seconds (+ - 1 second) So it recharges faster than Wasp at 140 seconds (this is a very old timing and may have changed...dunno).  But it looks like Ares may have the fastest recharge of any hull.

Worst release of the game. Crashes every game. I don't see how this game will survive for another year or two until the devs actually listen to us and stop wasting time on a stupid hull like Ares.

I am very sorry that I had to go back to the Flash version of Tanki Online for a short while. For today only, I will play Tanki Online on the Flash version until the HTML5 error glitch is fixed. When the HTML5 glitch is fixed, please let us know in a new "HTML5 Thread".

I am surprised that Ares works on Flash. I played two battles on Flash and there were new issues. Good news for Flash players.

Here is the bug in the HTML5 version of Tanki Online.

This bug triggers in all game modes of the HTML5 version of the game. Please fix it.

Ares looks real bad and its control sucks like it drift more than we want like if i am going left it will go too left and make me fall. i was on iro building and it drifted and made me fall of the building.Its controls are sloppy and hard. And i am not a nub player if you are thinking that.The developers need to listen to us the english community and ask what we want not only what will profit them.

I have noticed that the Ares MK modifications does not unlock at certain ranks as expected. I am in the Legend ranks, (Legend 36 at the moment), and I am not receiving the desired MK modification for my rank. Since, I am in the Legend ranks, to buy Ares, it should be the MK7 modification, not MK1. That makes no sense. Please fix this bug too.

As you can see from the image above, my garage promotes me to buy an MK1 Ares hull. Why? This makes no sense at all. Please fix this glitch. Many players in the high ranks would refuse to waste crystals to buy Ares because they would have to buy each MK modifications after another, which in turn would make prices staggering high for players. Buying the highest MK modification at your rank makes life much cheaper and easier for players.

I think in HTML5 client, you have to buy EACH MK. This applies to all equipment.

Never mind, now you have to buy each MK modification on all platform.

it’s sad truth but since modification system has been released, we have to buy all modification even if we can get Mk7.

I wanted to buy Mk7 striker but I had to buy Mk6 too.

Bro, that's how a hovercraft-like hull is supposed to move!

Ares will require restructuring the way you use the keyboard and maybe even the mouse. You may be a pro with normal hulls, but Ares is no normal hull! You need to get used to the extra drift, the sliding down from slopes (and falling off buildings initially lol, coz the fans/propellers stop if there is nothing solid underneath them for an extended period of time, or so it seemed when I tried it on the Test Server)...

Many people (including me) like how Ares looks...

It's a new hull, and we will need to adapt. 

Never judge a book by its cover... Wait for a few months, try the new hull out, explore possibilities, and then give feedback. It'll benefit everyone.

Hopefully you understand my point, and I don't intend to offend you.

See my edit, they changed the system so that if you want to buy MK 7, you have to buy everything from MK 1 all the way to MK 7.

It is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time.

Now you can test equipment without spending a lot of crystals. While the downside is you have to spend more if you want to buy something completely new and upgrade them all the way up.

You cannot buy MK7 directly.  You have to go through a short clickfest (buy MK1 and the modifications MK2-MK7).  That's how things done after the MK update.

Well that really sucks. Do you know that if you are in the high ranks, buying MK0 to MK7 would cost many times more crystals than usual. That's awful. This madness needs to end now, so we can properly buy the highest modifications are our ranks.

Actually, are Ares supposed to move sideway? Because for me, it seems that it is basically a normal hull which will drift when it turns

I promise that I will only buy Ares where there is a 50% discount on hulls. As for now, I will buy the MK1 Ares modification for 100 crystals and then, I will buy the rest of all the modifications at 50% off. I will buy the MK1 Ares to complete my 300 overdrive special mission that I don't want to miss out.

While I agree that for high ranks it's cheaper to buy the highest modification available rather than buying each modification separately, but in case one doesn't have the required crystals to buy the higher modification, then you might have to wait a very long time to save so many crystals and then buy the hull/turret/module. I didn't have enough crystals to buy Gauss M1 (which was available for my rank back when Gauss was released), and there was no way I could buy Gauss M0. So I would potentially never have Gauss! But after the M--->Mk update, Gauss Mk1 became available. Then I finally had Gauss in my garage.

So there should be an option to buy Mk1, or the modification available for your rank. That is the best option imo.

You only use it for supply boxes? Well, the joke is on you, i get about 400+ crystals after every battle on mobile. That is so much better.

I have tried to play on the app, but my main turret is Isida and I was a sitting duck with the mobile control.
