Summer boost

Sooo the summer boost experiment is permanent now, what do you think of this?

I am not complaining about it because hey.. free exp!! I ranked up 3 times in a month when previously I hadn't ranked up in almost 1 year.

It's garbage for any one ranked below Commander.  Players will rank up too fast and not have the crystals to buy upgrades to compete properly.

A really, really dumb decision.

Will not affect legends are gizzmos with a strong garage. Low to mid ranks are gonna get hit the hardest. Big P2W players won't mind because they have the cash to counter this,and it's these players the devs are counting on to spend cash, especially if they are amongst the mid ranks who imo from a P2W perspective, are the biggest spenders as they are trying to either acquire MK7s are will want to upgrade any existing MK7 equipment they have. If you are a P2W player the mid ranks right up to marshal is where you can dominate if you have MK7s against your weaker f2p players. This boost helps no one except these two types of player. LEGEND-P2W. The devs never miss a trick when it comes to coaxing you out of your cash. For those players who have at best average garages this is gonna be the longest summer in history. TO and how it is run is a disgrace, they have no intentions whatsoever on balancing out any aspect of the game that might encroach on their ability to make as much cash as they can from players willing to spend. I have a maxed out LEGEND account so none of this affects me. But unlike some players, (the selfish and hypocritical kind) i genuinely want to see balance for the vast majority of players who cannot keep pace with the endless changes. This boost is just another example of the devs basically looking out for their own, the players with cash.

Aww. I just want the ratio to be switched around so we earn crystals faster than exp. At the beginning of the series of exp boosts (Lockdown 1.0), I was Brigadier or Major General. I quickly ranked up, and here I am now, a Legend 2. Ranking up used to be slow, but Lt.Gen->Commander felt super fast. 

Ranking up and finally reaching the Mk7s is good, but this was too fast! Commander and Generalissimo were the ranks I struggled A LOT. I was put with all Legends and it was difficult to succeed because I was with 8000-9999 GS people (mostly in the 9000-9999 range), while I was at a GS of ~7700. It was REALLY frustrating and I was tired if getting my butt kicked. 

I was able to get MUs over time (most of my stuff is at 11/20, but my Firebird and Hunter are a little higher) and I do pretty well in battles. 

I guess what i am trying to say is that ranking up super fast puts you in very difficult, frustrating situations because you didn't have enough time to make your equipment better. That's what happened to me and it's definitely happening to other players right now.

Thing is ... pretty soon at low-mid ranks the only ones playing will be buyers.  How long are they gonna continue to buy when they get no advantage?

Dang, TO can't make up their mind. First they created more ranks, then slightly increase the crystals earning per xp but created more expensive equipment, and now boost xp by a phenomenal times 3, and boost the crystal only by 2. The only winners here are the premium users and legends. More xp, mean less daily missions and weekly missions done, which means less supplies and less crystals, leading to less performing equipment and lower competitivity than now.

It took me 3 years to reach Legend, nowaday it would take a year, and about 6 months for buyers/premium. But the turning point would be around 500k xp, when Buyers take a net advantage over F2P with product kits for ~300k xp. Either F2P endure before catching up or would just leave, either the buyers get fade up to compete against each others (with no more easy prey available).

I used to do 10k xp per week, now it is equivalent to 30k, if I start a new account in 3 month-time I will have reached 400k. Half a month later I will  have no drone, just one Mk7 combo and barely any protection modules to compete against mk7+ with drones and augments, ... no thank you...

Here is the current shop for 455k+ xp players (Lieutenant colonel):

F2P get one crystals kit at Mk5
Buyers get 4 kits at Mk7.

You can buy some Mk6 kits for crystals at Lt. Col., but the rest aren't available until Colonel (bit unlucky there)

But that might be the plan, moving away from players taking years to reach the highest ranks to players taking months (with the option of buying Mk7 very early) because there's no guarantee that a player starting now would ever make it to the highest ranks under the old system because the game might not be around for that long

It's like a university stopping three year courses and specialising in one year courses because they don't have enough financial assets to make long-term commitments to students

I might have got to Legend by now (but it's not one of my goals) if I had only had one account, have been playing for nearly 2.5 years (not on this account, but my first account is slightly older) and have earned over 2 million XP across four accounts

The boost is messing up the game at lower ranks though, my 400K XP Major account has 6084 GS and I'm often in battles where everyone else has under 4000 GS (and often some with under 2000 GS), and I'm getting top three places in battles without even trying

Yes there are mk6 product kit available, i found it funny to have Mk5. There is some use to buy lower kit as you don't pay for the intermediary MK, but you still need to be able to afford them.
The boost is definitely changing the game, times 3! There is more equipment in the game so in theory you need more crystals. The higher the rank the more expensive is the equipment, therefore the ratio in favour on XP is detrimental, so after 2 months it is normal to see these lower than expected GS. 
Normally I do not mind lower GS or a wide range in battle, but when it is lower than the expected rank, that is bad.

Not a dumb decision in terms of business though.

Also, ranks are meaningless after General, since you will be constantly bullied by Legends with their fully upgraded equipment.

 

And they call this a match making, more like trash making.

After General? noooo... You start seeing Legends after becoming a Brigadier itself and get your mk5/6 tank whomped by their 9999 GS tanks

In Brigadier, Legends do presence, but not that common. In General, you will almost face at least one Legends in every single MM battle.

Well if they want new players to join the game and stay it is dumb.

Not a chance I start a new account now as it woud rank up too fast compared to crystals earned.

If I, with experience won't start a new account, why would a fresh player keep playing after ranking up some and not have the ability to compete?  They will quit by WO5.

Start seeing is the key.  You still play a lot of battles with your peers at General.  It's not always General vs Legend. 

The rank-splits have just been messed up because of the experience boost.  Half the mid-account players have parked their tanks.

It is now permanently 4x experience and 2x funds. Can't wait to start seeing mk3 and mk2 in my battles.
