Hopper is a hull that drifts a lot from side to side and is difficult to control at first hand. I used it in only 2 battles on the special DM map when Hopper was released. It is very slippery when steering left and right. Ares has a different turning mechanic, so it does not drift as much as Hopper. Other hulls have caterpillar tracks, so they cannot skid when turning.

Right now, I only use Ares in battles and find it very cool and useful with its deadly plasma ball overdrive.

So you’re judging it on just 2 rounds of that special mission.... I’ve used it in battles and it’s handles better than ares...also that you said that it should be only available in legends rank? Hahahaha.... it needs to put in garage when you’re in 3rd lt... I have the hull and the next upgrade to mk6 on it is when I get to brigadier ...

You may have different opinions from me, but I prefer Ares handling. Developers must add Hopper in the garage. My proposal was for the Legend ranks, but developers may know better by allowing Hopper to be unlocked at lower ranks. For example, at Marshal rank.

I am not being selfish. My statement is correct. Since Hopper if a fast moving hull which requires some skill to use, it would be better to have it released in the garage only for Legends. I am not saying that because I am a Legend. I am saying that because this hull would be more appropriate for Legends. However, lower ranks may be lucky to get it from ultra containers.

Say that next time then, and as for more skill at legend ranks, lol i've seen some garbage at all rank levels, legends included. So riddler me old mate your statement is far from correct.

Honestly, with a bit of tweaking (that i do not expect to be done), Hopper could possibly be a more balanced hull. Maybe remove the stun from the overdrive.

Another idea of mine, which is a bit of a risk to take, considering the current reception of Tanki overall, is to introduce another new hull into the game. Allow me to explain my idea for the hull, if you will.

The hull, is a medium, hovering hull, with a size similar to Hunter, and a speed that is on par with Viking. The hull will have an overdrive which makes the tank invisible for 5-10 seconds and increase its speed. The tank can still be hit when it's overdrive is active, and EMPs disable the overdrive, (ie Hunter's overdrive). However, while cloaked, it is immune to burning, and freezing.

To compensate for the Hull's overdrive, Hornet's overdrive will be able to reveal players who have the cloaking active. Mammoth's overdrive will still damage a cloaked player, and Dictator's overdrive will not freeze the cloaked player. Furthermore, Hopper's overdrive will not burn the cloaked player.

The stats of the tank will be mainly oriented around turret rotation and Hull rotation.

And other than that, that is all I have to offer regarding this compromise of the Hopper hull. Either nerf it, or introduce a new hull to balance it out.

So long as hopper can avoid ramps and jump to defended areas it will never be balanced.  Can't defend against them in games like rugby and assault.  The teams with Hoppers have been winning those battles 5-0.

 

Would rather TO fix the many issues still in the game before adding new hulls.

Your idea is great, but I prefer that the stun effect for Hopper remains in its overdrive. The reason behind that is because the stun effect makes Hopper's overdrive more unique. I like it that way, so please keep the stun effect for Hopper's overdrive.

The best suggestion that you said secondly is to introduce another medium weight hull. Preferably, I would suggest a hovering hull that stays on the ground like Ares, but instead hovers higher from the ground. This new hull would be cool with an overdrive that freezes enemies solid, rather than burning them. That would be the opposite to Hopper's burning and stun overdrive.

This new hull would have an overdrive that freezes enemy tanks solid and causes the tanks engines to stall for 5 to 10 seconds, and then the enemies would restart their engines, but remain both damaged by the overdrive and a lack of moving around until the enemies gets killed.

Id actually say that the burn should stay and the stun should go. The stun takes away from the uniqueness of Hunter's OD

Me too. I would like a brand new unique hovering hull that is medium weight. Preferably a freezing solid overdrive would be very ideal. The only thing that would be an opposite to Hopper's overdrive is the freezing overdrive of the new hull.

Freeze kinda already does that, it would render the overdrive as a hull mounted freeze, and we dont need a freeze clone

I am not asking for a freeze clone. What I am asking for is a freezing overdrive that has a freezing effect that would be much stronger than freeze. The freezing mechanics and physics would have to be reworked in a suitable way so that it behaves and looks different to the freezing effect of the Freeze turret.

One idea of mine, how about the overdrive dropping snowflakes on the enemy tanks when activating it? Something like this, for instance.

I guess you are correct. When we had M0 to M3, the first modification was M0. The best thing to do for the first MK modification is to call it MK0. The second MK modification should be called MK1.
