How can we players get the direct attention of the developers?

Title says it.

I often get the feeling if something gets posted in Ideas and Suggestions it gets buried in a frenzy by merge happy moderators never to see the light of day again...no forum discussion or exposure to the developers which is the more important part.  I understand that the mods are doing their job and I also understand that most ideas are related to, if not exactly the same as many previous ideas...many ideas are just not workable, completely unfeasible, or just plain dumb.  So the mods do their very best to sort and categorize all these "idea" topics and they merge, merge, merge to keep the main Ideas and Suggestions topic clean and clear of redundancy and general chaff.

So is there any way to be sure that the devs get at least exposed to an idea?  Some sort of mod/poster feedback...like a conformation notice from a mod that an idea has been presented to the devs?

So as the title of this topic says: How can we players get the direct attention of the developers?

Anyone have any ideas (mods feel free to jump in and suggest...not merge)?  Thinking out of the box is acceptable.

You forgot to mention that Mods also write a weekly report on all the ideas that has been added and merged in the I&S. These mods are the one in charge of the section I&S and they share the reports with the CM and Devs. I can assure you that Cedrics and Nives looked at them when I was a forum mod. THis is one of the report, the other one I know about is about bugs and glitches.

Devs also look at the V-log comments on youtube, you can tell as they replies to some question posted in the comment section in the next v-log.

But as a player I suppose you can:

- write your idea in a concise but precise way in the I&S.
- write review of the game in the AWS that depending of its quality and accuracy it could be published in the Newspaper. But due too long delays, better keep it in the AWS IMO.
- set up your own youtube channel and make video that would be watched and liked by many players.

By doing the above you will get more exposure and more traction.

If you do it in Russian that would work even better.

I gotta tell you honestly - the I&S section doesn't play a particularly major role in the decision-making process of this game (or any game at a similar stage of development). And this is coming from the guy who's been in charge of the section for 5 years.

Don't get me wrong, player feedback is very important and devs do take it into account, but suggestions posted in I&S are usually either unfitting (for reasons you pointed out), already suggested before, or already exist in the devs' backlog of planned features, awaiting their turn.

Myself and the forum mods still do our best to select the best ideas and make sure they are forwarded to developers in a neat and organised report on a weekly basis, but to me the I&S section is mostly about discussing potential changes and improvements with other players.

Now, if you want to know where feedback really counts, look no further than the news section. Every single post in every topic there is checked, and relevant feedback is taken into account. So even though other factors in the project (budget, priority, complexity) do not allow developers to do things exactly as players demand, the feedback is very important and does improve the quality of future updates, even if it may not seem that way.

So feedback about recent updates and suggestions on how to improve it is what's really important to share, but I'm still looking forward to seeing your ideas in I&S ?

Well gee, if I knew that, I would've just spammed all my ideas in the news section. But then again it would've been a wasted effort regardless.

And sure the devs probably read the comments but I really don't think they listen to us.

I mean how many comments against things like the exp boost, challenges, and game changing equipment being put in containers were there?

Also how many complaints about hornet and Gauss were there?

Did they make any changes to any of those issues?
