Ideas for Hulls and Overdrives!

I absolutely agree that Mammoth needs this little buff.

Currently, Mammoth is good only for really dedicated campers (also Dictator) but after this little buff it would be playable with medium range turrets like Twins and Rico.

Hunter is more stable than Viking and it has ideal height for camping. Viking is better in short range, Hunter in long range.

The OD might make it better, but I still say that Mammoth needs more reasons to use other than just the OD

Hull Idea - Trigger

Concept picture (not to scale)144bclz.png

Medium hull. Has the fastest speed among the medium class, but with low maneuverability. Overdrive renders the whole tank almost perfectly invisible, with whatever it carries.

A medium with a large-ish size. It's the first effective wheeled tank, with an 8x8 low friction drive system, it can hit a higher top speed of any other medium hulls. The second tallest hull, making it a bit of a target. Inside its lightweight armor houses a small engine that provides its speed, but little torque, so it's not going to be pushing any mammoths any time soon. And in the sacrifice of speed, its been fully stripped out of all unnecessary weight: race car style (cupholders seats etc.) it has not much in the way of weight, so it can be pushed around relatively easily. On the icing on the cake of disadvantages, the 8x8 system was originally designed to handle like a car, but with unexpected budget cuts, it had to make do with a simple tank-style steering it wasn't designed too, the result is a horribly high turning circle. On the other hand, its overdrive is something of legend, developed in complete secret since the 80s' it uses a top-secret light refraction field and heat-masking stealth ability makes it able to nearly perfectly render the entire tank invisible, and invisible to all enemy radar for a small amount of time, along with whatever it is carrying.

Trigger Stats

Armour  Speed  Turning Speed  Weight  Power

1500          7.80          60                            1250         800           M0 Master Corporal 600

1932          8.39          65.4                         1645         925           M1 Warrant Officer 3 18,500

2359           8.85            72.9                       1729          1006           M2 Colonel 95500

2647           9.20            77.9                       2207          1148           M3 Marshal 205600

3000           10.55           80                          2500          1150           M4 388500

Things worth a mention

 - Overdrive's invisibility effect lasts 15-30 seconds, I haven't decided

 - While invisible, your turrets muzzle effects will still be visible (this also includes shaft and striker's laser sights)

 - Invisibility effect will NOT be detected by the hornet's overdrive "tank-finder" ability

- during invisibility, if you have a flag or a ball, the item's icon will still be able to be seen at long range across the map as         normal.

Kit ideas with the Trigger hull

"Glock" kit- Smoky M1/Trigger M1/Rhino paint/Dolphin M1 protection

"Phantom" kit- Railgun M2/Trigger M2/Kalidascope paint/Falcon M2 protection

"Shepard" kit-  Hammer M3/Trigger M3/Sahara paint/Wolf M3 protection

Not bad, considering how hard it is to come up with unique hulls. Maybe it should have a unique Overdrive instead of Juggernauts?

I like the tank flinging idea of the juggernaut :/ but yea,

It looks like APC (Armored Personnel Carrier), not like a tank. If it had tracks instead of wheels, I would say: 'Wow, what a nice T-50!'

This hull would be basically a faster but less stable version of Hunter. Not good for standard players but powerful in the right hands.

tbh it is debatable if tanks would still be tanks if they had wheels, but your right, I did model its looks after an APC, the wheels make it honestly more unique, my only reason for adding wheels. If it was lower and had tracks, it would just be a strange hunter. PS it's even faster than Viking too, but not by much, and yes, to balance it has less stability as you said perfectly.

I also did do some research and found that wheeled tanks and APCs generally had a greater speed than there tracked friends, but mobility was the biggest disadvantage they had over orthodox tracked vehicles.

Looks like a Mowag Piranha - an AFV.

Lack of armor is what differentiates AFV from Tanks.

Unlike tracked vehicles, wheeled ones can't spread the weight of armor properly.  Too much armor and they sink.

Don't think there are any wheeled AFVs that have enough armor to be classified as a tank.  At best these would be light tanks.

But then again - this is a game.  :)

well, thanks for the info, I originally wanted to make an APC/AFV light hull, but the size and it just sorta turned into a medium hull. and yes, I understand that realistically it would be weaker than a medium hull, I stuck with game balance, keeping it between Hunter and Viking armor.

But most players are not parkour drug spammers.

15 people in the picture, 12 of them are mammoths... mammoth is pretty popular alright

Normal day on Silence parkour, Everyone are fighting.

Hull Statistics

I've been confused about this from the start, and I wonder if there is any reason for this.  When looking at my Hulls statistics, I've found a few oddities that contradict popular opinion.  For example, Titan has more health than Mammoth in all areas but M3+, yet in the Mammoth description, Mammoth says it has the most armor.  Titan is also faster than Mammoth.  Why have this false impression been left in the game, and wouldn't this create a bit of an imbalance in the heavy hull department?  With regards to the medium hulls, Hunter has the lead on Viking in regards to HP until the M3 modification, which is balanced out by top speed, which Viking has the upper hand with.  Wouldn't you maintain these ratios?  If you could shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

1- Velocipede

Fastest amongst all hulls with lowest  armor. Nearly as half armor as wasp's/hornet's armor. And also nearly 1.5 times faster than wasp. Objective of this hull is to:

A- Capturing Flags

B- Gold Hunting

C- Executing High Priority Targets

Pros:

High Manuverablity with high speed. (Uses best out of speed boost)

Low Weight allows it to make acrobatic jumps and catch gold boxes

Since it's thin it can go through wide surfaces

Cons:

Due to low armor it is so easy to destroy (If you catch it)

Easy to flip over with most of the guns

Low weight and power makes it unable to push other tanks

It can flip itself over with the recoil of the most weapons

OVERDRIVE:

Turboost: When pressed shift, it levaes a neon track while booosting into huge speeds. (N2O Boost)

Lasts 5 seconds.

It is even faster than the striker's projectile without alteration

2- Rock

Zero velocity due to high amount of armor. It can not move if you dont use speed boost. About 1.5 times armor of mamoth. Aimed for campers who use sniper and magnum (sometimes striker or vulcan). Objecitve of this hull is:

A- Defending Flag/Base

B- Creating Space For Other Players (See Overdrive)

Pros:

Huge amount of armor makes it unkillable and must for defending bases

Since it can't move it can't be pushed by other tanks and makes it a meatshiled

Messes up the enemy attacks with overdrive

Cons:

Cant move if you dont have speed boost (Literally)

Can block it's own teammates

Can't be used with most of the weapons due its's low mobility

OVERDRIVE:

Magnatic Area (Shift zone?): Just like juggernaut's overdrive ability it creates a magnetic are that makes enemy tanks brandish. And damages them depending on their distance.
