Ideas for Hulls and Overdrives!

Recommended Posts

Why is this an issue?

It's not like the dome (globe) gets activated on overpasses every battle.  And those underneath probably have a poor arcs of fire.

Is this any worse than activating in central Sandbox where it covers a large portion of the map?

well yesterday was in a match which had more then 3 tanks in the same place use the dome OD. right after the other. sure I could kill but its not that easy. and yea this happens a lot in MM .

also would like the zapper OD be limited it ,to a smaller rang area. its too far spread out..

Titan Dome Overdrive Problem

There is a slight problem with Titan's dome overdrive. When Viking's activate their overdrives when Titan has its overdrive dome activated, Viking enemies still manages to destroy Titan players within their domes. This is quite a concern and should be dealt with as soon as possible.

It is perfectly normal for Hunters and Mammoths to disable and turn off titan's dome overdrive with their overdrives. However, Titan's dome does need some protection buff.

In general, when Titans are under heavy attacks under their domes, they manage to survive even without the extra help of Isidas or double armor. When meteorite gold boxes fall on top of Titan's overdrive dome, it only deals about 40% damage, so Titan's dome is well immune to such explosions. That also wraps up Wasps bomb when it does off.

The only tiny tweak buff that Titan needs is extra protection from Viking's overdrive so that Titan players can survive heavy attacks. Please do and amend the requested change.

Thanks.

Considering the benefit of this dome in team battles (potentially protecting and healing all 8 teammates), it makes sense for it to have as many weaknesses as it does. In fact, I'd rather the protection was lower and the dome would be harder to remove, or it would charge faster.

Viking OD recharge is mad slow. You will get 3 or 4 Titan domes for every two Viking recharges.

Titan will only survive if he uses double armor inside his dome. Otherwise, he will die when Viking charges its overdrive at him.

The Titan will ONLY die (and I mean ONLY) if the Viking has booster drone, not sure what MU it has to be at. Non-Booster Vikings of same modification should not be able to kill Titan in the dome (unless something has changed).

My tests found that even if titan didn't use double armor or protection module equipped, then it should survive Vikings OD, as long as it has enough health remaining to do so.

Viking would only be able to kill the titan if the titan didn't have enough health in the beginning, if the Viking had the two other damage boosts equipped (double damage and booster drone), if a hornet was also targeting the titan, or if there was more than one Viking targeting the titan.

One way or the other, Vikings can still easily destroy Titans inside their domes.

I can acknowledge this, but like I said, one of said things needs to be in place.

Otherwise, titan would just tank the full effect of Vikings OD.

Even with with DA equipped inside the dome Titan can be destroyed by turrets like Rail with DD equipped - most likely with LCR alt - which, with rapid fire does incredible damage in the 7 seconds since it effectively has no penalty on reload.

And since dome is often used along with 1+ team-mates inside, there is high chance you have >1 enemy firing at the Titan.

One of best solutions to the dome is to force the Titan to use it before it would like to - ensure the team targets the titan as soon as it comes out from cover.  I've seen Titans under fire like this drop the dome in crappy tactical positions - almost useless spots where enemies just leave it until the dome goes away.

Sometimes there are two Titans that both activates the dome overdrive. Does a dome within a dome further increase the healing time when taking damage from enemies?

Well if a meellee or close-ranged turret shoots within the turret, I think you do more damage, since the dome protects you. (I'll check the wiki on this.) So if you are in one dome but not the other, the 2nd dome is protecting the titan.

Also, what is so bad about a Viking killing a Titan? A Titan's dome protects 4-5 players on average, while a Viking OD allows it to make 4-5 kills on average. So if the Viking is only able to eliminate one opponent in the dome, its 1 vs 1 so what is wrong?

I didn't take alterations like sledgehammer, round destabilization, LCR, mortar, heavy plasma gun, incendiary mix and other damage increasing alterations into consideration only because I don't have them.

I have uranium, assault emitters, and slugger though. Tried slugger, it couldn't do it as an m1.5 against an m1.1 titan.

Ok I tested my m2 6/10 uranium, it failed against m1 1/10 titan.

Also tested m1 5/10 assault emitters with Double damage equipped, also failed.

However I must admit that both brought the titan all the way down to where it only had a small chunk of health left.

I just tried to do it with a friend.

M2 10/10 Rico vs M1 1/10 Titan (both with OD): I didn't kill (I got about half the health).

With DD? I killed the Titan. Bear in mind that this was 2 mods down, and I killed him on my third-to-last shot, so definitely the same mod would not be killed.

Slugger does same damage as stock hammer right?  About half the damage Rail-LCR does?

Slugger at mid range does the same amount of damage as stock does at close range.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if LCR manages to kill an m1 1/10 titan in its dome. That would most likely because of its reload mechanics when Viking OD is activated.

Why use striker or thunder with OD when railgun can shoot just as fast and deals much more damage?

They did a lousy job of implementing Viking OD.

Be interesting to see the formula that calculates shots per second for the OD.

Would not be surprised if it is the exact same number for all turrets...
