Separate Chat Tabs by Language

Recommended Posts

Nowadays in the game chats, there are so many languages I don't know, I'm not even sure if many people even understand each other anymore! I'm suggesting that there should be separate tabs for the language specifically for the language we speak, at least for the General chat.

Example:

  • General - EN
  • General - RU
  • General - PL
  • General - etc...
  • Announcements..
  • Q&A
  • ..
  • ..

You get the point.

It would help Chat Moderators who applied for that language and just stay on that tab if they don't understand a certain language.

If I am a EN player, I want to talk with EN players!

I don't care about battles anymore, but the lobby chat should be this way if possible. I'm thinking it shouldn't be required, but it should be there for those who want to choose where they want to go.

I get where you're coming from but adding new channels just for separate languages would just increase the list of Inactive chat channels. The chat servers does change when you switch your language setting, apart from the RU community, the other communities chat servers are pretty inactive. There's no point in Implementing this only because a few players are bothered by other users speaking in different languages.

Is there a difference between the "people who are bothered by other users speaking different languages" and the people who actually use the chat?

Sure is, some users prefer only a specific language to be spoken with respect to the language server they're in  (As you suggested this Idea) and meanwhile there exists those who aren't bothered whatsoever with a mix of languages in the chat, such as myself.

Besides, apart from the current communities, how do you suppose players who speak languages such as Hindi, Urdu, Japanese, etc.. would chat? I doubt they'd go onto the RU servers would they? Hence to the EN server as English is widely spoken and so does Tanki Online have an active EN player base, where they'd speak in their respective language if they ever come across a local player.

That being said, you may point out that why not do so in a separate channel as originally suggested? which leads back to my above reasoning of there not being enough players for different Language channels to be made.

It is so easy to implement.

The problem with the game is that it isn't evolving and slow development. Things aren't changing, for most players the game gets really boring, random bugs that makes player mad. Such simple tasks that just can't be completed because the Developers are always working on "something else."

I will just leave the game until Tesla comes. I'm guessing 2022.

The other chats sections will be an empty directly. Btw, I rarely open the Chat but most of my time I don't see any other language than English.

I think the only thing was required is to separate RU community from every other community, because they're a very much in Tanki and will overwhelmed the Chat with Russian.

And yea Thiedes have a point here, I don't think it's a pleasant look to see the chat a really empty even if you don't want to see other languages. And the emptiness will lead people to desert them more.

I believe updates require to have a solid purpose to be Implemented,  It's as easy as it gets for players to suggest Ideas for the game but Is a different story for the developers as it Involves real money, time and plenty of resources. Implementing updates over and over again Just because Its a simple update doesn't make sense. Tanki Online isn't a school project, It too requires sufficient revenue to develop the game and ultimately make profit at the end of the day to roll out even more updates.

It is a nice idea, but then it would require a longer time for Chat Helpers to get responses and to do Contests and other forms of communication/activities.

They would have to go to each separate tab to look at what people have said and to monitor everything.

With the chats on one tab, everything is together.

Also the Chat Moderators who are bilingual can do their activities, and answering of questions, faster/easier.

Another reason why Chat Mods should be more active and there should be more in general. So many people getting away with insult/profanity on the Chat makes me question the existence of Chat Mods.
