We Have a Crisis, and It's Not a Drone

Ahem.

Disasters happen, sometimes. Unfortunately, we may be in the midst of a crisis at this very moment.

While this article discusses the many people creating YouTube content about Tanki Online, I do not regard it as a review of what they produce. Rumours say that it is getting less entertaining, but I leave that to others to decide.

Today, we address the rising issue of the negligence of Tanki Online to make it exceedingly clear to YouTubers: any sort of contravention of the game rules is absolutely not to be tolerated. The trend of content creators getting away with doing stunts that should be less-than-agreeable in the eyes of the game developers has gotten off the rails.

To avoid getting a bunch of rotten tomatoes thrown in my face, I won’t name individuals here. But I’ll say it anyways, because we want this game to be fair and fun for everyone. Any rule breaking, of any kind, should be prosecuted, for the health of the game.

The trend started, at first, several years ago. The biggest YouTubers for the game did one, possibly two things in battle that are against the rules. It becomes a slippery slope, because dealing out bans for the slightest infraction (particularly against those bringing thousands of hours of watchtime to the game every month) seems unnecessarily strict. However, it was noticed that the rules are not enforced every strenuously, to say the least, and the trend began leaking down to smaller content creators.

Now it is not uncommon to see all sorts of multing, interfering, and other unsavoury activities taking place in the videos made in promotion of the game. The trend has ended where it logically would, and it would appear to the viewers that punishments have been done away with for these rule-breakers, because they are filmed with such constancy and yet the accounts and channels of these people have remained intact.

But not only do we have people breaking the rules of gameplay - no, no, far from it! The small content creators, building on this developer leniency, have begun to recklessly insult and disparage the game, developers, and helpers. But allow me to clarify; I am not in favour of a totalitarian system of running the game, where the least infraction is punished by severe bans. However, I would support the easing in of rules. Not in the style of the immortal Lucas Beaumanoir would I give sanction to such enforcement, but rather to a calm, rational approach.

Violators are warned. And warned again. And again. Disciplinary actions may include the removal of certain rights and actions. Those who continue to disregard game rules should, eventually, be subjected to a sort of punishment in-game that may be repealed if the offender promises to heed the rules in the future. The ones who continue, in spite of continued warnings, to needlessly disparage the game developers and helpers openly on the platforms provided to them should be removed from any rewards they have garnered from the YouTuber TO program, and have their in-game permissions rescinded.

Only then, perhaps, can we move on to a helpful environment in which everyone who has been gifted a platform in the game can give helpful and constructive feedback to the developers without flaming; before we can move past the temper tantrums of the small content creators and focus on helping, improving, and promoting the game.

Yes, indeed, I say it without overtness: the game rules and basic civility should alike be more heavily regarded when the matter of content creators is considered. The ones who break both codes, written and unwritten, must be repeatedly warned and then subject to more startling punishments if they continue to disregard the game and its helpers.

And now - enter, gallant rotten tomatoes!

You had me with the title, not gonna lie.

Serious talk: Perhaps maybe a report an unfriendly video form could help resolve this better. If someone in the program is making something negative, it could be reported to the program managers through the form and they can decide consequences as follows. Not too familiar with the system, so just an idea.

Tanki has not power over youtube video. Only if the youtuber is part of the TO YT scheme. They could ban the account but only if the guy is caught red handed, old video and not from you will not be taken into account. YTer outside the  TO YT scheme is still free advertising on social media for Tanki, so they won't do anything, it is not negligence, it is strategy. Cheats are in every game, so it does not look bad on TO more than other video games...

Do what I say, not what I do. ?

Aside from the fact that I’m not a content creator, Viking (good try, good try, but... try to use that self described frog brain next time!), I don’t think either of you got my point.

You don’t understand why I posted this, and you never will, unfortunately. Your comments were good (well, mostly) if it had been a normal discussion topic. However, as I mentioned in my second post, the spiel was beyond the scope of your understanding. And so, rather than making fools of yourselves arguing with something that is not to be argued with, perhaps you’d like to hop along (what do frogs do again? Hop? Jump?) and take your time replying to posts that are truly made for the purpose of gathering your input.

Edit: hiyah, @Viking4s, you know you can just hide your post instead of editing it to a period, right? Did your froggy brain forget it, like your “froggy eyes” have failed to see other things? Forgive me, that was slightly rude... even if you are a self-described frog.

Don't say that, you do create content, you made a text wall out of a simple idea that could have been expressed with far less words.
Don't mind Viking, he is a mult by design, just ignore him, you will do him a great favour.

?‍♂️Do we *need* to intentionally make bad arguments here? I’m not a content creator, my good fellow!

Anyways, I know Viking, he’ll try to make me look ridiculous on everything I write. The sad part? He is often the one that ends up looking that way, and usually doesn’t realize it ? As the period in his first post indicates, though, this time he noticed, apparently.
