PLS, no hopper at gold box

Has no proper logic or reasoning to it. I do understand that It's far easer to grab those gold boxes in mid air with Hoppers overdrive but every other hull has Its own advantages too, hunter and wasp for example.

but it is way too OP I can still catch gold when there is hunter or wasp but I only caught 1 with hopper near me. that was cos he made a bad jump.

just put a poll up and ask everyone what they say. OR even better make impossible to use OD when gold is dropping...

just put up  a poll...

and the answer will be reavealed. it will be a big step in develepment. and you can do a 1 week test to see if people like it.

Hopper has to waste its OD to catch it.

A Wasp can use its OD to blow everyone up around it.

A Hornet... ehhh its Hornet.

A Viking can blast its way through crowds.

A Hunter can stun/remove players supplies.

A Dictator has its height and its wide hitbox to tower over other tanks.

A Titan can sit on the Spot with its Dome. Waste of an OD but works.

A Mammoth can drive through people.

Many strategies to try. In the end, it is just 1000 crystals. Get over it.

Hopper was intentionally created as a gold hunting hull. Over the years we've had many different hulls being advantageous for gold hunting. For a long time it was Dictator, then it changed to Mammoth, then Titan, then Hunter, and now it's Hopper. If golds are important to you, then I recommend you get yourself a Hopper and use it in battles and during gold events. Otherwise, the best you can do is make sure any nearby Hoppers are dead before they get a chance to jump for the gold.

I agree that Hopper OD needs a nerf (not only because of gold boxes), but disabling it during golds is not a viable solution.

I feel like a good solution would be to return the old "Zero Supplies" overdrive, and delete these other Overdrives, but that doesn't obey by your rules as moderators, so it's kinda pointless suggesting it. There's really a lot of unfairness and 0 skill when it comes to these separate overdrives.

Actually, I believe that there is a significant amount of skill in using the OD and also avoiding it. You can see when enemies have OD enabled, so there are numerous tactics you can apply in order to avoid them.

For example, how to deal with a Hunter:

  • Don't approach them at full speed. Wait until the UI starts showing their OD status and stay back if you see they have OD ready.
  • Anticipate their actions. With enough skill you can trick them into activating OD while you stay out of range or hide behind an obstacle.
  • If they're behind a building, use the radar to track their movement and don't let them catch you by a surprise attack from around the corner.
  • If you have a teammate nearby, make sure at least one of you is protected from the OD, so if one gets zapped, the other can fight the Hunter and protect the stunned teammate.
  • If all else fails, try to either avoid the Hunter or take him out from a distance.

Players lost interest back in 2018-2019, when the devs decided to add things that were "balanced" or "cool." Y'all need to balance out the limit between coolness and what seems right to the game, because different ODs, hovering hulls, drones, hull augments, and APs aren't working out. It's just a matter of time before the Devs lose too much players that they have no choice but to shut down their game. I'll be waiting for that day to come.

Yeah, but is it fair that Dictator's overdrive is the only one where players can't go "Godmode" for a small amount of time?

Wasp, Viking, Ares, and Mammoth allow people to one-shot enemies.
Hornet makes you see where you're enemies are....and allows all teammates to bypass armor.
Titan gives you near-invincibility.
Hunter and Hopper just disable everything.

On the other hand, Dictator's OD can be easily countered by anyone, especially now that supplies are given away so easily nowadays.

Dictator has a unique purpose and stands in a different category. It gives a hefty amount of bonus points to the player (dictators usually take first place), and also helps all teammates get extra healing, supplies, and overdrive charge, with the latter making it extremely valuable in team battles and often underappreciated. In fact, I'm generally not that worried about skilled/OP players in the enemy team with other hulls, but an enemy team with a skilled Dictator is extremely difficult to win against.

That's true.

But I know this is irrelevant these days, but due to the "team" factor, Dictator wasn't balanced in Deathmatch and Solo Juggernaut modes.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons why solo modes are only available in special events.

Right, but none of those tanks are capable of flying up to the gold box. The other tanks have to work and fight for it even with their OP overdrives, Hopper simply hops up.

In case you did not know...

you CAN get 100 000 crystals from them. Let's see. A Gold Box is rare. When and IF a Gold Box drops, is a 1/3 chance for it to be a Black Box. 

Now, how many commons do you usually receive per Container? Or better question, how often do you get commons?

 

I don't mean to brag, but I have actually caught a Container before with some REALLY nice rewards, but in reality, it is ONE container, and often, the prize is worse than 1000 crystals, well, unless you are into that sort of thing...

Lose interest, no it won't. Bring back the universal overdrive that everyone has and ditch all other overdrives. Hoppers overdrive is the last nail in the coffin as far as fair play goes.

There is no skill whatsoever in using a overdrive, you either time it right are you do not. Timing it right does not mean you are a skillful player. Getting enemy flag -u- turning while still firing and driving backwards for the cap is skill. Hopper players very rarely make any kills while they are going for enemy flag, they engage crisis then overdrive and cap with little to no effort.....no skill involved at all just op hull with its op overdrive. Even without crisis they are still way op.

Ok, for a second let's just ignore the fact that Hopper exists. Does that change your view of overdrives?

I believe people like hopper as hull but no the overdrive because you can jump and catch golds very easy but Tanki can add modes such as the JGR we had before 1-2 months or maybe other modes everyone have the same equipment so its fair for everyone, instead of removing hopper from special event battles but i agree 100% with @killer73.

All overdrives should be scrapped imo, to many players rely on them now, lets get back to basics. i do like drones but some are way better than others. it seems to be the way with tanki that they bring something out that is op and leave it in the game for months and all they ever get is negative feedback from most players. tanki is a great online game but those in charge are letting the players down in a huge way. Some say BUT ITS ONLY A GAME it may well be just a game but it has a good following and could be played more by a lot more players for a longer time each day if those in charge would just listen to AND ACT ON player feedback.

As far as I am concerned, even if I back away as it jumps (Hopper) it gets the gold box. Do, even if I 'skilfully' back away so I don't get stunned and burn, he gets the container. Even if I use a hack not to get stunned.

But this event does seem good fun.
