Change Stars For Challenges/Missions (Christmas Update?)

Please Read Slowly and Carefully.

Some things to think about: "Why did we go from 1000 Stars to 3000 Stars for Half-Month Challenges? Did we have to? We added Stars to Mission Rewards, but why didn't we keep it 1000 Stars total?"

Summary:

Every half a month, we now have a new Challenge where we need to earn 3000 stars to complete all 50 tiers.

Here's the breakdown. Hope it's accurate:

  • Daily Missions- 150 Stars x 14 days (2 weeks for the half-month Challenge) = 2100 Stars
  • Weekly Missions- 450 Stars x 2 weeks (for Challenge) = 900 Stars
  • Total- 3000 Stars for the Half-Month Challenge
  • (Plus some other Stars from Battles and Special Missions)

Problem:

If we miss one day of missions, we'll have to earn 150 extra Stars to get back on track!

Solution:

I would like the Tanki Online Company to divide all stars required for Challenges, and how much we earn from the Missions, by 3 (three).

Conclusion/Result:

We will have 1000 Stars to earn every half-month Challenge like we did before, but we won't have to worry too much about missing one day of Missions! Everything will be possible:

Daily Missions right now are 30, 50, 70 = 150 Stars

  • After dividing, it can be 10, 15, 25 = 50

Weekly Missions right now are 100, 150, 200 = 450 Stars

  • After dividing, it can be 30, 50, 70 = 150

New Overall Breakdown:

  • Daily Missions- 50 Stars x 14 days (2 weeks for the half-month Challenge) = 700 Stars
  • Weekly Missions- 150 Stars x 2 weeks (for Challenge) = 300 Stars
  • Total- 1000 Stars for the Half-Month Challenge
  • (Plus some other Stars from Battles and Special Missions)

Thank you!

^ We also don't accept ideas about making things cheaper. In this case, reducing the amount of effort required to complete a challenge. The goal of the recent missions update was to make missions easier to complete for normal players, and to encourage everyone to play more actively (i.e. every day). And if you miss some of the daily/weekly missions, there's always special missions and battle rewards, which give you extra stars.

Yes, 150 extra stars from battles in two weeks. Before the update, you had to earn 1000 stars in the same amount of time, with no alternative options. Think about it for a minute :)

Back when the challenges lasted a month, even after playing for hours a day for 30 days, I still only managed to get a little over halfway done.

I commend the devs for changing challenges to what they are now, but I do agree with @thunderhunter123 on the fact that, if you miss more than 1 day of missions, you will lose 100 tankcoins, which are crucial to buying the most f2p tankcoin item in the game, the Battle Pass.

Yes, we have special missions to make up for that, but those aren't guaranteed. Some challenges, there aren't any special events with special missions.
And yes, we can make up stars in battles, but sometimes, underpowered players will only get like 1 star per battle, and as such, it will be hard for them to make up the missing 150 stars or so.

We did have some re-installations of updates, like returning Augments to the Garage and returning Crystal Boxes, because the tankers all wanted it very badly.

I feel as if Tanki has made the Challenge a little harder to complete for normal players.

Please think about it:

We do get stars in missions, but we have to play everyday in order to get to 3000 Stars!

During an emergency or too much homework, studying, and projects, we might not be able to play Tanki Online that one day.

We would have to earn 150 extra stars to get us back on track of 3000!

150 Stars is at least 25 to 50 battles minimum with premium.

This kind of off-track path would cause the average normal player to discontinue the rest of the Challenge, because there is now a huge gap to get back on track! (causing more dissatisfaction towards doing the Challenge that they once enjoyed with 1000 Stars).

So this is why 1000 Stars for Challenges is necessary again.

(I'll make a Poll about bringing it back.)

But those updates were not reversed because a player made a topic in the I&S section about it.

Well yes, you have a task of logging in and playing every single day, and you have to catch up by playing lots of battles if you miss some missions. It's not easy, which is why it's called a challenge. Even though silver tier rewards got nerfed significantly over time, it still gives you a hefty amount of crystals, supplies and containers (plus 100tk), so the effort required to get it all should be equivalent.

We're not saying that updates/changes will never ever be brought back at developers' own discretion. We just don't accept ideas regarding it, because I&S exists for sharing creative thoughts, and asking for something that previously existed to be brought back is not creative.

I disagree. In order to complete daily missions, you have to play battles. I'd say an an average F2P player needs around 8 battles in order to comfortably complete the 3 daily missions, which is about an hour of gameplay every day - a very reasonable amount. In total that's 120 battles every 2 weeks, and if you get an average of 2 stars in every battle, that's 240 extra stars you get JUST from doing your daily missions. So you already can afford to lose a day of missions, and any extra catch-up is just a few extra hours of gameplay. And that's not even including potential special missions.

Even though I haven't experienced challenges as a F2P player, I'd say that the current system is extremely generous towards F2P as far as completion effort goes, and asking for challenges to be easier is just unreasonable.

Well, this technically means the gap between casual f2p players and buyers and grinders is further extended with challenges.
The daily missions (especially the earn battle points missions and finish in the top 3 on the winning team) take hours for a non-buyer who has "average equipment" to complete. Not to mention the poor matchmaking Tanki seems to have, especially after the 16v16 experiment with the supposed "bug".

As such, players with "average equipment" who do not have the time to play for long periods each day would end up leaving/be frustrated due to not being able to compete with buyers/grinders who finished the challenges and/or obtained the battle pass.

Yes, the challenge rewards are really good but I'm only praising because I have the time to sit at my laptop for 3 hours each day playing Tanki and trying to finish all three of my missions.
At the bare minimum, I can finish my missions in under an hour, but that's only if I lucked out and got missions like "collect boxes" or "use overdrive". Otherwise, if I got 3 missions that require me to play 3 different gamemodes, than I'll be in for a long night.

Honestly, the grace period of 1 day is too strict for casuals. If they don't finish challenges, they fall behind everyone else in terms of crystals and supplies.

Challenges were never made for casuals. Either way, if you don't get the 100tk reward, you still get to enjoy all the previous tiers.

That's true.

I'm still bummed though, for like, at least a year or so in 2018, casuals and everyone used to earn 4 containers per week had they done one mission per day (seven missions per week), but now if they wanna earn 3 containers per week (+6 weekly containers), they gotta do 15 missions per week.

And before containers, casuals could obtain the weekly mission reward by doing the same, playing 1 mission per day. And that lasted for a while (like, from 2016? to 2018). I understand the devs removed all this for game economy and challenges, but it honestly nerfed casual players a lot.
