Because N2-boom the wasp would have to run away otherwise it will die all the time. It is meant to be a melee Overdrive. When wasp OD was introduced Wasp would die but not enemy.

Because Ares can be shoot from afar, no need to run away from it. The risk of explosion makes it more difficult for you to follow your own plasma and benefit from the healing all the way, you can but there is a risk for you to die. It is meant to be a long range weapon this prevent to be used a short range. A bit like Magnum splash damage.

TO can balance overdrive in many ways, it is one way.

Too many things to say, Both aren't a comparable.

Ares OD is a more teambased. Also Ares it can heal allies, deal damage to enemies while it flying even without a direct touch.

Wasp OD need a 3 seconds to explode, mostly if there was a punch of people, there will be a Titan or a Hunter to neutralize the OD, without any benefit to the Wasp user, either by healing or destroying any enemy.

Ares have a strong strategy by tracking the plasma ball and it will have a some seconds of a direct healing, the ball isn't that fast and it has a 6 meters radius with 5000 hp.

Both are in a different strategy, aren't a comparable.

Except if there are a punch of 4 people all are AFK, and you want to destroy them all while staying in the same place. Yes Wasp is stronger here.
