Tips & Etiquettes In Battle

Tanki might be a game of war and destruction, but did you know that there are etiquettes to be followed when it comes to not annoying your allies? No? Well, then let's get right into it!

[1] Never Push an ally when they are aiming at someone

Have you ever been in a situation where where u are aiming at someone and then an ally just pushes you and you lose aim? It's very annoying and also might make a huge difference in the final outcome of a battle. Let's make an example:

You are a Shaft camping in a perfect spot directly towards the enemy base. An enemy takes your flag and rushes to their base. You ready your Shaft and when the enemy is within shooting distance, a teammate pushes you. You lose aim and miss, causing your teammates to get angry at you, but the real impostor is the Freeze-Wasp trying to take your overdrive by pushing you to give him the overdrive.

If the ally hadn't pushed him, he could have killed the enemy and possibly gotten a return.

The same goes for aiming turrets, such as Striker, Railgun, and Gauss

[2] Nuclear Box

A Nuclear Box when used correctly can become a game changer, so here are some etiquettes when trying to catch a Nuclear Box :

  • If you already have a full overdrive, it's best to avoid the Nuclear Box, but if an enemy is near, then try to take it as a defensive move.
  • If you are using a fast-charging overdrive like Wasp, Hornet, or Hopper, yield the Nuclear Box to allies with slower-charging overdrives such as Viking.

Tip: If there is an ally Dictator, let him take the Nuclear box as Dictator's overdrive gives you full supplies + healing but also a boost in their overdrive cooldown.

[3] Healing With Isida

This one is fairly brief. The main idea is to heal but not to annoy :

Healing is a win-win for both sides because the healer gets XP and the player being healed get HP, But sometimes, you might get more generous and start to follow the others to heal, now this is when problems arise.

a ) You end up blocking an ally annoying them

b ) You mistakenly go in front of them to heal but block their shot.

These types of things happen so the general rule is: Heal a teammate from a distance so you do not end up blocking their shot.

[4] Do Not Be A Flag / Ball Hog

In many Assault / Rugby / Capture The Flag battles, there are these players who always try to get the ball or flag. This might be from pushing others to get the flag resulting in sometimes flips and also sometimes captures by the enemy team. This Kind of behavior makes other tankers annoyed! So if you are one of these players, stop and just play normally. If you get the flag or ball, then capture it, but if not, do not annoy others and become a flag or ball hog.

That's it guys; hope you enjoyed this article!

Yours Sincerely - Spektrix

Welcome to the AWS! Excellent first effort - I see a lot of solid points that come from game experience and a well-organized article. There are still a few works to improve on, though. I would have liked to see it longer (add a few more tips - the examples are already quite strong by themselves) and with a few more images. For example, the flag/ball hog, you can get a picture of two tanks fighting over a flag, and for the Isida tip, you can ask a friend to demonstrate with you a proper and improper method of using Isida. Other than that, I like the concept of this article and hope you'll continue to write consistently in the future!

Edits: major rewriting, minor grammar changes.

Spoiler

For sentences, refrain from using caps with every word. (e.g. "Newspaper admin kaisdf is a noob" instead of "Newspaper Admin Kaisdf Is A Noob") and keep it formal (Write out the whole word: "you" as opposed to "u"). There are some small grammar mistakes, but we'll sort that out once the larger ones are fixed. You're already doing a great job ?

I will keep this in mind, problem is I've been on discord for too long that I use " u " instead of " you ". Anyways thanks for the feedback I will get to work on a newer better article as soon as possible

Nice topic Spektrix!

[1] Never Push an ally when they are aiming at someone

Agree with this, especially when you with Shaft, it literally terminated your aim, especially when it be in the last side of your tank even with a little touch it will vanish your aim.

[2] Nuclear Box

Ahhh remember a Hopper who took the OD from me in Juggernaut mode while I'm a Viking, though his OD wont do anything against Juggernaut while my OD is a crucial, add of this that my OD is the slowest OD and his OD is the fastest.

[4] Do Not Be A Flag / Ball Hog

To be honest, I don't agree with this. I think taking the flag is a type of a competition and challenge like taking the Goldbox, everyone wants this great XP. But my problem is whose taking the flag while they didn't have any chance of capturing it. like whose taking it with no supplies against a team with strong defence, they just restrict you from taking the flag while they in real wont capture it. Btw, with your point of not pushing anyone, this will make those players take it from you, and maybe sometimes will restrict you from taking the flag for many battles. I think it's a sort of advantage if you have a strong pushing hull like Hunter to take the flag from someone, Btw, I mean in this if only was before taking the flag, but after taking the flag it directly consider as multing.

If you are new to using Isida, please heal from the broad/wide side of your teammate - that way you won't get in the way if he has to retreat or move. Aim to heal from the back of your teammate's turret so you don't stand in his turret sight. And there is no need to press up against your teammate like a cheap date when healing as well. You can keep a Mammoth-length distance while healing and it won't impede anyone.

The bean can reach up to 15 meters (at Mk1 to 20 meters at Mk7+) with no loss in power, plus if he get hit by a shell with splash damage the further you are the less damage you will get the longer you stay alive (thunder is 12 meters at mk7+; Crusader overdrive is 10 meters...). Consequently 2 good reasons to leave some space between you and your patient.

Crusade & Ares are actually infinite distance

I am talking about splash damage when the ally you are healing is hit by the shell. Yes, both the icicle and the plasma ball can travel to infinite distance (long-range), however if you stand by more than 6 meters away from the slow plasma ball will not be armed you. Icicle splash damage is a 10 meter radius when it hit an obstacle and explode, as long as you are 10 meters away from the point of impact you will be fine. Splash damage is not rocket science, estimating the safe distance is the real challenge.

If you are the intended target then it is a different story, to prevent that make sure there is an obstacle between you and the incoming shell, it could be ally, foe or battleground tangible object.

If you excuse me I have a new point for the topic.

If you're with Dictator, and someone left an OD box for you. Out of politeness and respect, you should to use your OD directly around him, not going far and using it in another place. Many Dictators playing with this way, you leave the OD for them, then they running into another place far from you. This is the biggest reason that made me didn't leave the OD for Dictators, especially when I'm with Viking, really frustrating and disgusting thing, leaving the OD for Dictator while my Viking OD is really slow, then he leave me though I try to chase him to exploit the opportunity when he use the OD.

Yes that is more respectful. But according the the article I said Light Hulls have to keep the od box, if you are a viking then u should take the od box unless you are in siege then let a dictator take the od box because u can give it to the whole team in a point. And yes that happens to me a lot too it's bcs they do not like to work in a team. We cannot change a tankers attitude.

These types of things happen so the general rule is: Heal a teammate from a distance so you do not end up blocking their shot.

The other points are bang on track, this one is a bit of a sticky one, to add, anyone that is being healed, should in return tank for the getting healed.

But let's not forget, Isida's are not obliged to heal, do not think that you will get healed, play as if there are none around, that way if you do get healed, it may be a bonus in most cases.

Especially since I use the Adrenaline augment, I will not heal much, UNLESS I see it fit to. Adrenaline on Isida also buffs healing as well as damage, so it's pretty cool to use. Unless you use support nanobots, you may be better off not healing teammates in scenarios to help damage enemies.

And sometimes it may be better for some allies to respawn to get a good rotation in, some supplies could be on cooldown, just waiting inevitable death.

As for blocking an ally, sometimes I will personally tank shots to buff my healing slightly whilst I heal and then I will rotate behind and use that adrenaline buffed healing to heal my ally, or if the enemy is close enough, will drain their life force. A fair few common pairs with Isida are Vulcan with defender drone ( usually IB/HI in endgame), which can usually shoot over most isidas which usually have a lower hull, so blocking shots in most cases, isn't always an issue.

Another Tip for any Isida player, avoid healing Adrenaline augment players too much, they do more damage the more HP they have lost, which is costly and annoying for them.
