Reinforced aiming transmission of Vulcan

 Share

Question

This augment has the following effects:

Turret slowdown rate: -100% Plus.png
Vertical autoaim: -15% Minus.png

I Can not understand these effects. How do they effect vulcan practically in the game?

If I understand you, the augment does not make the firing speed faster, right?

Vulcan does not rotate automatically while firing. I think you may be referring to the rotation of the barrel, which is just a visual effect with no gameplay impact. Yes, the augment does not increase the rate of fire.

What advantage does these both augments bring with different hulls?

I can’t attest to how viable either combination is, but Reinforced aiming transmission makes it easier to hit moving targets or hit targets while on the move because of the faster turret rotation speed, so I can see how it could be considered a good choice for use with more mobile hulls.

Stock Vulcan's turret rotation speed decreases while firing. A 100% reduction in turret slowdown rate cancels this decrease, so that the rotation speed is the same whether firing or not.

A decrease in vertical auto-aim makes it harder to hit targets at a higher or lower elevation. Stock Vulcan is able to hit targets that are within 9 degrees above or 12 degrees below its line of fire. A Vulcan with Reinforced aiming transmission will only be able to hit targets that are within 7.65 above or 10.2 degrees below its line of fire.

What do you mean with turret rotation? The rotation of the turret on its own axis while firing or the movement to right and left (with the keys x and z)?

I mean turning the turret with the x and z keys. Is that not what "rotation of the turret on its own axis" is?

Another question: In more than a topic in the forum I have seen the following:

Vulcan + light hull: better Reinforced aiming transmission

Vulcan + heavy hull: better Incendiary band

What advantage does these both augments bring with different hulls?

P.S. The second part of answer about the vertical aim ist understoos now, thanks! ?

I got near 8 million of exp with vulcan . I've been playing vulcan before the augments existed , and i still use it as my daily turret . The reinforced aiming transmission is imho the best augment for vulcan you can have . Vulcan when firing slows down significant the turning of turret . any moving target gets a lot more chance of survival , since they are difficult to track . Reinforced aiming transmission fixes that problem , since turning of turret when firing is the same as when not firing . The only downside is that the angles for shooting on height or low is reduced to normal lvls . Vulcan used to be a turret with a very large angle , much wider then other weapons . The augment cancels it , and makes it a turret which can fire in high or low targets , but on a normal lvl .

Yes, you are right, I mean the barrel.
