How to die less often?

I'm getting kind of frustrated about the MM because they pair me with people in the Lieutenant/Major ranks while I'm WO4. Sometimes I get paired with Recruits, though Even with them, I feel like I die a lot, but I know I'm a skilled player. I'm especially good a guerilla tactics. Still, I die

Which combos do you usually use?

i got a guass vikin combo. Before that i had a kd of around .96-.97, know im up to 1.01 and still climing.

When i was low rank,

i used only rail+wasp combo and do support role only, and help carry flag sometimes as primary or secondary carrier.

 

it trains the aiming and be supporting means more kill steal more xp and more crystal for less power combo,

what’s more, less death, as hide and shoot and small hull helps,

but at my old time, there is no strike, no gauss, no magnum, no splash damage from twins and rico, and no IB or bounce vulcan, the only gun splash is thunder. Hide but wall is no long safe

Upgrade your equipment, at WO4 you should have at least one Mk3 combo.

In the lower ranks, skill is significantly more important than gear. As everyone is generally starting from zero, outplaying your fellow tankers is a reliable way to get a high overall K/D. I had played with only Smoky and Hunter (both M0) till Warrant Officer 2, no purchases at all, and managed to keep my kill-death-ratio at 4. 

At that rank, I decided to invest in Predator Kit (Thunder M1 + Hunter M1) because gear became a necessarity to perform better than other tanks - the week after, I MUed the kit completely to M2 since I had the crystals for it. I kept using this same method my entire career on this account: focusing on only 1 or 2 combinations allows you to get skilled with that specific tank and you will withhold more money. 
As you are going through the ranks, gear becomes the main factor of success in combat. Again, spend your crystals wisely on gear that you are experienced with or is strong enough to compete with other tankers; to add, make sure to save crystals when you do not need to spend them

I use Thunder/Viking. My average K/D is 2, but I want higher like many people can get to 4 even with ranks similar or higher! I'm a Warrant Officer 4, and doesn't have any Mk3 equipment. Also, please tell me how to use crystals wisely, I'm missing them! 4000 is not even enough...

Complete missions regularly (and by extension challenges). Focus only on upgrading one combo, and buy equipment on sales. Don't micro-upgrade and don't buy supplies.

Yes. There is little reason to micro-upgrade anything except for Mk7 equipment. It is much more difficult to take full advantage of sales if you decide to go the MU route.

Why is KD important to you?

What it mostly means is those players camp more often than not in safety and rarely go to the danger zones like CP, Siege or trying to score a goal or steal a flag.

KD only significant in DM and TDM where that actually determines the winner in a battle.

They need to remove the K/D stat. It really doesn't serve a purpose. The space it takes up could be used for something more productive.

To have less deaths, I believe you can:

• Use your most comfortable equipment, overall.
  • Favorite Turret/Hull
    • (I use Thunder and Hunter)
  • Use Defender, Crisis, or any Drone
    • (It's because they give at least 5% protection)
    • (I'll be using Defender Drone soon!)
  • Use the most common Protection Modules, or just your favorite ones
    • (I use Thunder, Railgun, and Shaft Protections)
  • Use good Augments for better gameplay.
    • (I use Heat Immunity for Hunter so I can survive a little longer with any kind of burn effects.)

With these items and/or your preferred ones, you can survive longer.

• Also, you can lose less by attacking from a distance.

• Concentrate on upgrading your main combo (no micro like members mentioned above; only buy MK upgrade during sales)
• Use supplies & OD wisely (don't use them if you know you would be killed instantly)
