People who don't go for the gold box but kill other people going for it, why?

An obvious answer may be free kills, but still, it goes way beyond me how, do these people enjoy pissing others off or what? It's almost robotic behavior from some players to just continue fighting. Even if you don't need the 1k crystals or are not good at gold boxes, just don't.

I don't care about the regular Goldbox, but when someone kills me while I'm about to take the Black box, a heats from my heart comes directly to revenge.

It's a good chance for me if I have Striker to kill a punch of people altogether while they about to take the gold, don't wish from me to forgive people while gold time as I do things maybe you wont ever want to hear it from me.

Oh I remember one day with my Shaft, I was about to be a villainy and zoomed my Shaft into gold drop waiting to piss off someone, but suddenly I saw a very weak player who get slaughtered in the battle was just about to take the gold, I waited him until he get it then I killed him While I think he haven't notice that I did that intentionally, though I told him in Chat but obviously he was a careless.

I do to troll dudes. But when I do that, I get targeted too even when I am not going for the Gold Box.

Gold boxes have become so commonplace these days that it's often more fun to try and take advantage of the situation and get a huge multi-kill, rather than attempt to actually take the box.

I personally don't go for non-black golds, but if an opportunity arises, I would try to protect it and prevent people taking it. I usually try to save it for some non-legend player

No one is trying to catch the gold box, in battles where legends can be found... and it happens for simple reason:

Legends don't need 1K on 2021.

Legends are looking for more kills in this days.

I remember on 2012 how gold was like Exotic on container... My heart would start pounding hard when "Gold box will be dropped soon" appeared, and if I hadn't caught the gold, I would have been screwed all the day .

Waste of time. 1000 Crystals isn't that enticing past Warrant Officer levels. Hopper exists and is usually the guy asking for gold because he knows he will get it. I'll only go for it if im alone/nearby the gold already or i know there isn't a hopper in play. Which isn't that often, hopper is popular.

I will agree killing the people catching the gold isn't it, the play is capturing a flag or delivering a ball.

I do whichever is easier.  If I'm near the flag I'll steal it.  If not, target the gold-diggers and listen to them cry as they blow up before the box lands.  Both are satisfying.

IT does feel satisfying watching other tankers go towards the gold box and I just use Gauss because I feel like it. Or I would use rails hyperspace rounds or death Harold. LOL But the only time I'll go after it if it is a container. XD

At my rank, gold boxes usually have no value. If it's a regular gold box, I try to kill other players because I'd like to complete my mission faster (generally the "get x score" kind of mission) and sometimes I might wind up being able to take it myself. If it's a container or a special gold box, then I do it because I want to take it for myself and Viking can neither get on top of other hulls or push other hulls.

Agreed. This is why I do this.

i usually listen to music when i play so i barely hear the siren, if no one's around the gold i may try to take it, but if there's a hopperclown with the OD ready i just totally ignore it and focus on the main objective of the battle.

I do that most of the times either way

Yes! Even more comical is that often times there will be players who'll say "don't kill during the gold box!" and their the first ones discharging their weapons.

Many of you are saying that legends don't need 1k. That's kinda true but gold box is sacred, I would go for a gold box even if it was 10 crystals, just for the competition. 

The hopper part is very true and sad. The funny thing is when it becomes hopper vs the whole others players who try to kill it before the drop.

What feels so satisfying the most is shooting the hopper with  crises or defender drone out of the air with gauss right before they get a box. Just to troll them.  for example i would drop the box. Then I wait near it and troll others. And and the last second ill get it. After i farm for kills lol. XD

Gold is fun, I had a heartbeats every time I hear the siren in the past. But nowadays it lost its value, and become with no means. For every battle there are at least 2 golds dropping, it's too much. If I'm about to steal the flag or doing a slaughter with my Viking OD, I would prefer this way more than just taking a gold, it's a lesser value than an OD box.

In example I remember in the very past there was a gold in Stadium map and it was something close to me while I'm in a very low health I completed my way trying to catch it and lastly after a hard heartbeats and anxiety I caught it while in that time in Stadium map if you came in the middle you will die immediately with hundred Railgun shots that if you was with a full health but I collected it with a very low health.  Ok this is a very old and I haven't forgot it because the gold in that time has a high value and will make a change in your garage after collecting it. Nowadays it's such a meaningless and I couldn't ever remember the gold I took it yesterday even.

Look at my profile I have collected 506 golds, would you think that I will care about the 507th gold? For sure it's such a meaningless addition gold.. Or will I have a hard feelings and incredibly anxiety after collecting every gold of my 500+ ? For sure no, the gold lost it value by the time as the prices are in a high inflation and any player could easily gather more than 300K+ crystals, Container could give you easily a hard number of supplies like 150 DD that cost in real 15K, Ages more than a one gold, or a daily/weekly missions and Challenges and events, 1K crystals by gold is such a meaningless and a trash and with no fun.

So they try to make others feel how they feel, when they can't have the Gold Box, by destroying other tanks and not allowing them to take it either.

 

• Some tankers shoot to try to get an opening, to take the Gold Box if they're behind the opponent.
  • I do this when I have a small chance of being able to get the Gold Box and I see Wasps or other light Hulls in the area.

OR... it's some easy scoring - maybe contributing to a mission and... it's FUN.  Isn't that why we play the game?  To have fun?
