How do micro-upgrades affect cost?

I haven't played tanki in a long time, so long that the M0, M1, M2, M3 upgrade system was in place. When I came back, my Firebird was automatically transferred to Mk 5-5. Essentially, I want to know if either of the following two happen, so that I can upgrade my equipment most efficiently:

1. Does having Micro-upgrades on a turret/hull making buying the next modification (Mk6, Mk7, etc) cheaper?

2. Does buying all Micro-upgrades on a turret/hull automatically give me the next modification?

The second question might sound strange, but I noticed that on the wiki, buying all the Micro-upgrades on an Mk5 firebird is the exact same cost as just buying the Mk6 firebird.

Answer to your first question is yes.

If you micro upgrade your Mk5-5 Firebird to Mk6 it costs 58660 but buying Mk6 Firebird costs 90000 crystals. Including the speed up costs micro upgrading Mk5-5 Firebird to Mk6 costs 117,320 crystals which is significantly higher than the cost of Mk6. Micro upgrading and speeding up the micro upgrade costs significantly higher than its next modification but you will be able to get the damage and other stats of next modification by completely micro upgrading the turret, at ranks lower than that required for next modification. Only micro upgrades cost the same as your next modification. So if your turret is Mk5-9 it is cheaper to micro upgrade rather than buying Mk6 as you have to pay full price for Mk6.

Answer to second question is yes.

If you fully micro upgrade a turret you will get the next modification for free upon reaching the rank required for that modification.

If you buy and make your turret mk5 - 10/10 then when you rank to the appropriate rank where Mk6 is unlocked you can purchase it for free. 

 

So answer to question 1 is yes, ... but only if you upgrade it fully to 10/10. If you upgrade it to 9/10, it would still charge you in full to buy the MK6, or again, you could still just micro upgrade it, and then after purchase mk6 for free if you are at the rank that unlocks mk6

 

answer to question 2 is no. If your rank is still not high enough to be at mk6. You will just have a mk5 10/10 turret. For all purposes it is that Mk6. But you wont be given mk6 that you can then upgrade more. you will stay at mk5 10 / 10.
