Option to turn off the red outline in enemies.

I don't think it's a thing to turn it off from options ! I think it's a thing that should removed from the game completely.. Because it's consider as a type of lessen the skills required of the gameplay.

But I don't see what's the meaning to turn it off from yourself while others are using it !

What the title says.

I actually like/love how we get a red outline before shooting at the enemy.

  • It shows that I'm really aiming at the enemy, and I won't miss my shot.
  • In the Flash version, we could not see any indication of whether, or not, our shot was going to reach the enemy.
  • Now that turrets have a projectile shot, it's good to have the red outline when in battle.

But having the option to turn off the red outline is also good to have, for people that want this.

Well you are quite right my friend. I must agree that for projectile turrets, red outline makes shooting a whole lot easier.

I have something else to tell you. There are countless situations when red outline is of no use. For instance in Stadium, while using Railgun, the red outline DOES NOT appear on an enemy Wasp across the map. Many a time, I landed a shot successfully and killed them.

Secondly for many people, mainly Railgun users like myself, red outline takes out all the fun. You know, the satisfaction you get when you land a shot on an enemy and kill him, it is just immeasurable. The feeling when you kill a tank with Railgun, without the red outline, is just incomparable. So providing the option to turn it off is for the best

It also ruins the satisfaction of stealth attackers and makes it need much less skill to aim at enemies. Worthless update imo.

Though of the obvious outline that indicate the enemies for noobs, you still see some Twinsers shooting against you while you're in the last edge of the maps.

By the way as I said above that I dislike this as it's really unreasonable and stupid, every second the game become more easier for noobs = no difference between the pro and the noob in the game = the only difference is your equipment, So you don't have any chance to beat them with your playing role as the only difference nowadays is the equipment

That's literally the point. You don't know whether or not it'll hit. There's risk involved. Like in xp bp. In xp bp, we dont need a red outline, it removes all the skill in nice shots because they're assisted.

You really need this?   How about skill and judgement?

I mean - they might as well place a signal on Hunter so I know I won't be wasting my OD when target is out of range.  Ooops - I've said too much.

So you just don't want the red outline for XP-BP? That's good. I agree.

But the red outline for MM battles is necessary, especially for new players.

But we should get an option in the Settings to remove the red outline if we want to.

"if we want too" It should be disabled automatically at above seargent. You're more familiar with the game. It's impractical to have it as an optional choice.

Some players, such as myself and my friend, love having this red outline even at Legends.

It's because we can immediately shoot the target after we see the red outline, and can hit them.

If we did not have the outlines, then sometimes we could not shoot fast enough and give the opponent a little more time to destroy us. So having the outline helps to play better overall.

This is why we should have the option to keep the outline, but also to remove. Don't you think so?

Don't you think it destroy a big chunk of skills that requires you to aim correctly? The players who have a good aim don't you think they will be angry as their skills are just meaningless.. It's really not a good thing for a game to make the skills in the aim such a useless and destroy the meaning of good aim.

In my opinion, I think it’s better if they learn how to aim without being spoon fed all the time.

There's no stealth involved, guessing or risk. Outline = shoot. No outline = maybe there's a player there maybe there isn't it's a game of curiousity. Don't need aided aim.

Do any mods know when this feature will be implemented? I actually despise it. It made my aiming so much worse. I spent years with rail getting a sense of exactly where to aim even with complicated shots, or shots where an enemy is out of their cover by a few pixels. But now, there are SO MANY shots where I "correct" my aim because the box is not there instantly, only to find that my shots were right the first time..

The red box is causing me to lose all the skill i spent years gaining..  Personally I don't really see the point of it at all. Stop making the game easier for noob players. Nobody on this forum needed it to get where they are now, and nobody ever will.

Edit: sorry to be so negative, but I'd like the truth to be said. Nobody needs it. The data you have shows that. Just do a SQL query in your database to show how many people with a DL of above 1 started the game before the red box was implemented, and you will find it is quite a few.

I'm sorry, but this is precisely the point of the game. You need to get used to knowing whether to shoot. I don't mean to be rude to you, but if you play an action game based on skill, then you'd expect it not to be that easy :/ What other games do you know about that have this feature for experienced players? If half life doesn't need it, then neither do we.

I have to side with Watermelon and others. This feature shouldn't even be an option for advanced players. God forbid, there are many legends who still don't know how to turn their turrets. More of them is something the game certainly doesn't need.

True, playing with Railgun is a really not compatible with the red outline. When you shot with Railgun, you usually move your tank/turret while you shoot.. So the red outline is meaningless.

While if you're trying to shoot a far stationary hull and you're not moving, you can take your time till the red outline appear then you shoot.

So in conclusion, the good player shouldn't use the red outline. Because it will late your aim a few seconds, while the less-skilled player with the slow playing term, the red outline is definitely beneficial.

So this is why I hate it and I want it to be removed not just an option, because the good player wont benefit from it that much or even shouldn't use it. While the less-skilled is completely benefitted from it.

If you need the red outline above of your EMP Gauss aim-assist, it's honestly a real problem
