Bye bye tanki, hello space invaders...

When the hoovering hulls were introduced, they seemed like a nice addition to the game. But i think they are out of balance in terms of speed and capabilities compared to the other hulls. Hence, they now dominate the game, making tanki look more like space invaders than a tank war. For me it is gradually time to quit and look for a different game. But I wonder if other players who have been playing the game for years recognize themselves in my feelings.

I’ve played for a long time and still am though not as much these days. Sometimes I start to play a lot (especially during this epidemic) and then I stop and start again after a short or long hiatus, goes on like that. I’ve never had much interest for other games as well...

When my first times I heard about Hovering hulls like Ares, my first reactions and impressions about the update wasn't see that is a good update. For a basic reasons like: compensate the lack of skills of turning the turret. But I wondered from the amount of Youtube comments who are couldn't wait from the happiness to see the hull on pins and needles.

To be honest in that days I thought I'm the only player who can think truly and correctly, my vision about the game was different. But after I entered the forum I knew that there are many many players who can think well and better than me. I know guys I criticized youtube comments a lot, but it's way too silly.

Sometimes, I don't like playing TO, but then I remember that the game will have changes/updates, depending on if the feedback and comments reach the developers.

We will improve gradually. Just like how Hornet is more balanced now, we will also balance hovering Hulls, ...

 

While/if you are still taking a break from TO, you should play on your phone. Try out these two of my favorite games: "Smashing Four" and "Archero".

I love playing these two games whenever I'm free and not playing Tanki.

 

I'll check out Space Invaders.

I honestly thought we only wanted one hovering hull, which would be Ares.
 

 

Ares was a cool addition......

As for the others.....
Hopper has the most annoying overdrive and physics.....
And Crusader is by far the ugliest looking hull in the game (my opinion btw). I'm not saying the game designers are bad, but in a game about Tanks, compared to the likes of Hunter, Dictator, Hornet, etc, Crusader's design is really really.......weird. It looks like a gaming mouse lol.

I play PRO a lot and there are not much hoppers in these battles. Why? Cuz ODs are mostly off there and hopper w/o OD is just pathetic. No other hull is influenced so much by its OD. Hornet kinda used to be but it's not even close compared to hopper.

Hopper is still very useful even without overdrive. It can move sideways, it's very hard to predict its movement.

I have all hover Hopper/Crusade/Ares at M7-15 (soon max to M7-20)

I bought Ares M1 as first hover hull, and too hard to control on PC version, as it is too drift and hard to turn.

======================== BEST CONTROL========================

then I started to use Mobile version, it is so much better, move side way is a key breakthrough on pick-a-poo shooting technique.

now I play exclusively on mobile for daily missions, as the control on mobile is so flexible and move in all direction, no more need the turning time, saving precious time on fast pace. especially on Hopper on nitro, moving into air and in air body control on landing point,

mouse control with hopper give both advantage of mobile and desktop control. driving backward at full speed without worry flipping, hovering on edge of bridge and glide on top edge of walls. real ninja style.

======================== BEST OverDrive========================

hopper can jump over wall, stun and heat up enemy, it is Perfect Hull to steal flag, no delay of hunter, and speed of hornet, and mass damage of wasp.

hopper break through the limit of old tanki Map design, as those map never thought hopper can jump over wall, this make escape on most map is key different, as normal tanker need to drive and turn around object and house and walls.

Crusade OD can break through Titan Dome on Distance (not like wasp and hunter to closeby) and freeze and destroy flag stealer on the run, break whole enemy defense siting on flag from Distance. and only other OD can do breakthrough from distance is Viking, but Crusade can have 3-4 OD per battle comparing to 2 OD of viking.

Ares, I never thought its OD is powerful and it is only heal and damage slowly with a small radius, but its true power is like isida healing by and mini drone do super damage along the tanker, and one shot through JGR to sure kill.

======================== Overtaking OLD hull========================

Wasp used to be perfect flag stealer with its bomb, but hopper just better at escaping.

Viking used to be perfect attacking hull, but Crusade just more flexible, and same health and more drift and more stable on edge and jumps.

Ares, its health and damage style is like Mamthom, but its OD is more supportive and more flexible in battle.

======================== the old hull continues========================

wasp, hornet still does its job, especially for people more like old driving style .

viking, hunter still has its role in team battle, also powerful as solo fighter

dict hull, its OD has no replacement and stay on its own.

titan, mamthon, still can play along.

and all hulls are important to break through old style of attacking and defending, give new life on strategies.

Yeah exactly, you might see a few of them but they’re not much of an OP nuisance, in OD enabled however, you’d see a lot of tanks jumping around and more than half of them with your flag.

I've been playing Tanki Online for 8 years, and I can tell you that I completely identify with what you said. I have already stopped playing, and today I just go in to pick up the free container and after that leave. Occasionally I log into the forum to see what's new (like today).....

But @MysticBloodSee this as a disadvantage for Hopper compared to the OP Viking, because its acceleration of strafing sideways is lesser than the acceleration of Crusader. You know that? the acceleration of moving sideways for Hopper is lesser than Crusader. So Hopper is UP.. Ok but why you say Viking is OP? What Viking have to do in this? I think it's a punchline against you because Viking can never move sideways ! 

So this is why I left them and I stopped my discussion with them.

Not one parameter listed in WIKI indicates Crusader has better strafing accel than Hopper.
