Easter in Tanki Online!

Please be advised that Tanki Online is a game that is moving forward, not backwards. Hopper was the new breed of one of three hovering hulls with different overdrive abilities. This Hopper hull must stay permanently in Tanki Online as with all other turrets, hulls, drones and protection modules. I do not want to see any bad remarks on removing any equipment in Tanki Online.

I do agree that some special event modes have, exaggerated number of players using Hopper in the same battle. Nothing can be done about that in this current event, but in future events, when there are special game modes, developers can make special game mode battles on the Sandbox map, where players have all their supplies turned off and enter those special battle modes with 4 vs 4 players, similarly to past modes we had with Hornet/Railgun and Wasp/Smoky combos.

That can be done again when new HD skins comes out. For example, Viking/Thunder mode on the Sandbox map with 4 vs 4 players would be great, with no supplies and no protection modules equipped.

Well, fair enough - you could be right that I don't get it because I have never particularly enjoyed these modes - they are OK for an hour or 2 perhaps each time they come around for an interesting break from normal play, but I mainly just do them for the profit as well as a small change from regular missions as a F2P player. I had about as much fun this time using Hopper to compete against other Hoppers as I did using Hunter (which was the "OP" hull at the time) last April Fools'. There will always be one dominant hull for golds maps/special missions, although it does have to be said that Hopper is particularly dominant to the point that other hulls basically can't get the golds at all, which wasn't the case with Hunter around this time last year - although Hunter was the clear favourite.

I made the suggestion that overdrives should be disabled in these modes to prevent Hopper from dominating (and other suggestions too), as you can see in this topic below from January:
 


So as you can see, I made an effort to try and change this situation, before any of these gold events with non-explosive golds took place - I also thought the same as you. But now I don't really care - for players that want all hulls to have a chance in non-explosive gold modes you would need to do something like this, but my ideas and similar ideas have been rejected - so Tanki don't care - if you want to compete in these modes use Hopper - it's OK, not ideal, but that seems to be how they want it. And no matter what you do, certain a certain hull (or hulls) will always dominate anyway - in the case of no overdrives it would be Dictator, although wasp and light hulls would have a chance too - slightly better than what it is now.

I have seen your topic, which was declined and agree on your matter that Hopper's overdrive being disabled in battles. Hopper's overdrive cannot be disabled in normal matchmaking battles. That's never going to happen. However, Hopper's overdrive can be disabled in special game modes like, for example those 4 vs 4 Sandbox battles where we had Hornet/Railgun and Wasp/Smoky combos. These type of battles can have overdrives disabled because they are supposed to have non-interchangeable equipment with no supplies and no augments, nor modules equipped.

The harsh truth about it is, well u wont catch gold boxes then.

This is the perfect example of the META and using Hopper is the meta for catching gold boxes. People who use Hopper will be rewarded while people who don't will have to wait until maybe something changes. You might think this is an error which needs to be fixed, but this is quite common and biggest games like Fortnite, League of Legends etc. They keep changing the meta in their games to keep them fresh. You might agree with it or not, but that's what is happening in TO with gold box hunting, and the gameplay in general. 

Also I see people calling Hopper users "losers" and other names which I think is just a waste of time. Most people who use them won't change what is rewarding them because some random person on the internet said they are bad or something. Them calling him a loser won't change his life or something so the Hopper user won't care at all.

I do not know what developers will think about your meta Hopper suggestion above, but that could become possible in special Sandbox game modes with 4 vs 4 players. We shall see about that. However, in normal battles, it has been made clear by developers that Hopper, as well as all the other hulls are going to keep their overdrives in normal everyday matchmaking battles.

My thread above is mostly about explaining game design to him.

However I do think maybe limiting how many people can use Hopper in a single match is the best way to do it, for example 3 Hoppers max per map. This way before a gold drops, other players can try to target Hopper players before they can use their OD to catch the golds. This way Hopper gold catching might make u use your survival skills while not ruining the variety in the gameplay. This would also not be surprising since in League as well ( in normal modes ) u can't have all 5 people in your team use the same champion.

Hopper's overdrive wont change. Developers said that already so please take that into consideration. Developers chose to make Hopper a light hull so that it could jump in the air at any moment and move fast. End of story!

Yeah... That's why i changed the tactic. I join this event battles just to hunt and kill hopper players :)

Our suggestion is to remove that hull called Hopper.

Hope that devs will do something smart, not dumb.

Old player as me really don´t like that hull, I was about to catch two golds at one place and some Hopper came and used that stupid overdrive, it is literally unplayable, I was just lucky that I caught 10 golds today, nothing just luck because of those Hoppers all around.

 

And stop removing negative posts, somebody removed my today. Those devs need critics.

When did they say that? 

I believe Hopper will change only when something more exotic than Crisis gets released because it seems Hopper is just big advertisement for Crisis.

You can use a good battling tactic. That is to use Magnum, hide behind a wall and shoot down Hoppers from there. Since Hoppers are low on health, they are super easy to kill using Magnum with double damage. I use that tactic as well from time to time.

Okay, the special mode for April Fools sucks, literally. I join a game and there are more Hoppers in the game than any other regular game mode. Trying to catch these Super Gold boxes was no fun because there was always a Hopper to catch it high in the air. Hopper removed what was fun about catching gold boxes. The only people actually enjoying themselves are the people who use Hopper specifically to catch gold boxes and gold boxes only.

But yeah, this special mode sucks and Hopper sucks.

Fire is fine when it comes to Hopper OD but stun needs to go.

That's pretty much what I do with mortar and mk6 mag because you could actually kill a camper on a building with a accurate shot and knock him off or mine him

The stun immunity is supposed to be there to stun and burn enemies at the same time. This makes Hopper's overdrive more unique. Developers shall not make any changes to Hopper's overdrive, as previously stated.

I'm gonna leave this game for good unless you take away hopper during events!!!   HERE ME OUT!  This will only benefit the economy of tanki!  This game has gone downhill for several years now, and it's GETTING WORSE!!!
