Some questions about Product Kits

I recently returned to the game, and was searching the Garage for the next Product Kit to go for. However, I can't see any place for kits in the Garage. 

 

I can see Product Kits in the Shop but they can only be purchased with Tankoins. You can even see here that Bulldog Mk4, which is supposed to be buyable with crystals at my rank (according to the wiki), is only buyable with Tankoins. 

 

So I have a few questions. 

1. Is it still possible to buy Product Kits with crystals. If so, how? 
2. I noticed I could only see Mk4 kits in the Shop, even when I was at a rank to get Mk3 kits with crystals (according to the wiki). Why is this? 

Some information about my account: It's an old account from before the "Mk" update. I have one Mk3 turret, one Mk3 hull, and 3 Mk3 protections.

Seems that you've been out of the game for quite a while. A lot of updates have been introduced whose list can be found here.

Coming to your questions, Product kits have been moved from garage to shop. Most of the product kits are available for Tankoins. The ones available for Tankoins are always present in garage and can be bought whenever you wish to. Kits are still available for crystals but they appear in the Shop very rarely. They generally stay in the Shop for 12 hours and then disappear. Kits for crystals appear in Shop quite rarely and it is wise to buy one, whenever it appears, as there are little chances of your favorite kit appearing.

Kits offer equipment which are not available at your rank. They offer Higher equipment at considerably early ranks. For instance, Mk7 kits can be bought from the rank of Lieutenant General(for crystals) but Mk7 Turrets are unlocked at the rank of Marshal.

It is possible but in a moderate-low rate (and the probability for that is confidential at the moment).

If you spend real dollars, you can obtain kits earlier than you would expect.

You can't rent a kit, it's not possible.

You can buy kits using your crystal right on the Shop but again, such offer appears in moderately low rate as I mentioned.

You can get them in the Shop, not in the Garage. They aren't in the "Product kits" section, but in the showcase at the top. They are quite rare, but you can use the "Refresh" button every 6 hours in addition to the reset that happens every 12 hours.
