the worst tank game?

Just saw this YouTube video, the only tanki video I have seen from a non tanki youtuber, and it has this title. Gave me a perspective how new players see this game.

The graphics sucks. You can tweak tanki's graphics to make them look good, either going beast mode by maxing them or minimizing them to a point that keeps the classic tanki aesthetics, but the default graphics are just obnoxiously blinding. And that holiday paint, ugh.

Hovering hulls. We mostly hope to attract gamers from tank games, right? And tanks without tracks?

TDM is just boring. I know a lot of people like it but tanki is not a graphic-heavy game to enjoy just destroying tanks. CTF or CP is a better introduction mode as almost every gamer knows how they work.

Look guys how he can master the tank easily and played very good from first playing and how he understood the hovering mechanics left and right from the first few seconds..

This is why I strongly against the Hovering concept completely and I say to swallow a hard portion of the skills required to play

Edit: Ok now I've completed the video, to be honest I don't care about this kind of videos/players who are just playing the game for just a few battles then forgetting the game forever. Like if you downloaded a random GooglePlay game for just a few seconds then delete.. Not like how we played Tanki for many years..

By the way I was just curious about how the new players understand the game and how is their concept about the game... To be honest I saw this guy is a very intuitive and have understand the game very fast, especially when he knew the division of the hulls the first 3 are light the second 3 are medium and the third 3 are heavy.    But it seems for me the Overdrives in the low ranks are very complicated and make the game harder for new players to understand, they removed the supplies box but haven't removed the overdrives which is more complicated.

He said he had played it once years before.

But yeah, hovering tanks are so easy to use, they added them to attract mobile players and the game has started to slowly turn into an average mobile gacha game.

I like how he doesn't understand how the game works yet he keeps saying "oh god this game."

It's like "I don't know how to drive a manual car, so this car sucks."

His screen is million inches or what !

If he's on a browser like Google Chrome, he can simply reduce the size of the site in the settings and that's how he gets so much empty space on his screen.

Lol, I know.

The "expensive, powerful stuff" that Veterans can get are the Drones, cause they can technically max the drones pretty quickly due to them (probably) stockpiling crystals for a large period of time after maxing their turrets, hulls, and modules.

And the Buyers get the OP Augments.

In 7:24 he have minimized the screen and it seems he haven't reduce the size of the site.. Because if he is, you will see a magnification indicator up.

Umm I see myself that I agree with this reply

Tanki is a long journey game.. It's for the players who are ready to spend 2 years or more playing, not just a googleplay game who you download it and remove after some weeks.  Many players are just playing some games and they leave. I remember in 2014 I started to publish the game in Youtube comments with my link, my honest opinion was to make the game popular.. But I can get a crystals from this way,  many players have registered with my link.. But the highest player just reached WO and left the game, I don't know them personally but all I know is just they registered from my link.  So it seems many players are taking the game just for some weeks or a few days then leaving.

Ok, I don't think now with the current state of the game that many players tend to play for 2 years or more to reach Legend.. I think the players tend to do that in the past years more than now, not because the game have changed but because the time crossed and maybe the game looks boring in 2021..   Btw, Tanki now is trying to change this concept with the incredible xp boost.

Btw, regarding the video/comment. Many players will take a wrong concept about the game just because they are playing quickly and leave, while the game required the patience and giving it a chance for more than a month of playing. It's too far for these hurry players to play and even get accustomed with the ZXC, and yeah it's hard for new players though it's a very intuitive for us.

OMG i know him. Hes the guy who streams wot blitz ?. Tho i don't agree with him calling this the worst tank game. Tanki was the first game i played (like first, first) and i have so much respect for it. Its just that the declining player base might of pushed the devs into expanding on the pay to win side of the game rather than other parts...

Tanki is the best tanks game... WOT is just sucks and all of the turrets are Smoky, and the maps are just looks like a real maps with no interesting things..

We don't see maps like Silence or something... We don't see turret like Freeze or Ricochet

LOL smokey turrets. It's based on WW2 tanks, so yeah they all look like smokey are maybe shaft/rail.

It is way more realistic than TO, but not as energetic. Tried it out once, takes awhile to get going really.

Difference between TO and WoT is that TO has a larger of variety of mechanics with less depth, while WoT has less variety but its mechanics have more depth.

You can see in the video that the player takes damage and dies quickly and says something like "oh wow I guess we don't have any armour;" that's because he was expecting the front of the hull to be better armoured than the sides like in WoT.

Although I think it's badly managed and getting too complicated, I still think the core of Tanki is great

I used to like realistic games when I was younger, but now I can't be bothered with complicated upgrade paths and loads of parameters etc. (it's why I never liked Tanki X)

Killing campers on the other side of the map with Striker just never gets boring

Sok@asem.harbi i left a comment on the guys channel explaining what TO is all about.

It was short but to the point.

The devs should bring back a revised version of how TO works, like they had when i first started the game.

It was a tutorial, and it was a good idea, and did help out about what to do when you are a newbie.

They would have to make it longer and just as easy to grasp because of the countless new updates they have brought in.

I saw the video.

The tanker was using the hovering Hull throughout his gameplay experience, and did not like the mechanics of the hovering Hull.

  • If players use regular Hulls as the default, such as Hunter in the beginning, then they might get a better experience with gameplay and mechanics.
  • I feel as though the tanker did not use other combinations and variety.
    • He/She did not buy Paints, do Missions, get other combinations, Protection Modules, Drones, use all overdrives, Augments of different types of Turrets/Hulls, ...
  • He/She simply played 2 battles in MM battles with Ares and Twins.

So yes. Tanki Online is the worst game for this player. He/She did not give it a chance for further experience.

When I play new games, I always try it out for at least 1 to 7 days.

Then I decide if I want to keep playing it or not.

Well, wot blitz doesn't suck, its just the fact that wot blitz and tanki are two completely different games (and their mechanics are different). I usually play wot blitz when I feel slightly more competitive and I usually play tanki when I want to relax .

Spoiler

assuming you weren't sarcastic

I'll just say that anyone who compares WoT with TO doesn't have the slightest idea of what a real Tank is.

(and WoT is just an arcade Tank game, only War Thunder on Realistic battles gets actually closer to the mechanics of a real Tank)

I watched the video and the title is quite obviously clickbait. This guy clearly enjoyed the game quite a lot, and from what I've seen, his only complaint was regarding the graphics. A very minor thing, in my opinion.

In fact, this video only confirms that a LOT of improvements implemented by devs over the years have made the game more appealing and accessible to new players.
For example:

  • The UI is intuitive and logical — this guy very quickly figured out where to click and the hints helped him a lot.
  • The controls are also intuitive. Mouse controls and hover tank movement mechanics made it extremely easy for him to move the tank the way he wanted to without needing to waste much time getting used to it.
  • The decision to remove skin modifications and update them to HD was 100% correct — this guy clearly said that Twins looked quite bad, which happens to be the only non-HD piece of equipment he used.
  • Overdrive made the game a lot more fun and it was a good decision to add it.
  • The gameplay is easy to understand — you can see how quickly he figured out things like damage indicators, drop boxes, the overdrive ability, etc.

That being said, I'm sure his opinion would be more negative if he got to the point where he's facing P2W augments and drones, but that's just the reality of an MMO from 2009 having to find ways to financially support itself.
