Change gold box mechanics

Right now, Gold boxes are predictable. They drop, a hooper comes, jumps and takes the goldbox with its overdrive and that's the last you hear of the goldbox. I propose that goldboxes come in 3 ways. Either they come in meteorite form, regular form (as it is now) or they come similar to how goldboxes would spawn underground. If it's like this, then a Hooper cannot simply use it's overdrive and take the gold box, lifeguard abusers won't take the goldbox from perpetually abusing it and hulls such as Viking could catch golds better.

This would be horrible. If it comes as a meteorite, light hulls will be able to catch it (including hopper), if it just appears on the ground, again light hulls will catch them because probably everyone will stay away to avoid tge meteorite. Also, this will ruin the games, because you may die even if you dont focus on gold boxes.

True, but this way every hull has a chance to take the gold. Right now the only hull which takes golds most of the time is Hooper. With the meteorite thing, titans for example can catch them as can lifeguard users (promoting a different drone) and if a Hooper user wants to take golds it's no longer "hipity hopity this gold is my property". To consistently take golds would require using Hooper with Lifeguard, and that would either not happen (because players don't want to switch drones) or if it does happen, would lead to a decrease in Defender and CRysis users for example. How would you die by not focusing on gold boxes?

Gold boxes are a bonus box dropping from the sky just like supply-boxes, it wouldn't make sense for it to 'pop' out of nowhere. Also majority of the playerbase doesn't like meteorites so this suggestion would make even more tankers dissatisfied. To add, Hopper with Lifeguard would be the new way to go when hunting golds

Well that's why, it wouldn't just be meteorites. A 1/3 chance for each. Well yes, there's no way to completely remove the effectivity of a certain combo taking gold. However, in the case of Hooper lifeguard, it cannot catch golds that spawn on the ground with ease because it can be pushed out of the way.

Or...

Make the gold box veer away from any hull like a + + or - - magnet effect while it is still dropping from above (no upward movement, just downward lateral). Once on the ground, it's as normal and stays until it is picked up.

Heavyweight Construction laughter in the distance

On a serious note, HWC Hoppers are an actual thing; I have used it myself for a very long time. I often equip it when going into CTF and RGB modes, enemies defending their base have nothing on me. Players stand no chance when I am able to push a Titan out of his dome to one-shot him, it's that easy. 

In gameplay it can work really well, no need to mention that catching these Gold Boxes won't be that big of a problem for them - unless you take into account other HWC users or overdrives such as AT-Field, but that's common sense

No, even with heavy weight. Hooper will simply slide on top of another tracked hull, which'll mean you don't take the gold. On Hooper, you don't even need heavy weight because you can sort of drive on top of them anyways. If anything, it's a poor augment to use because it hinders your ability to strafe.

Or maybe the Gold Box should be "ghosted" until it comes in contact with the ground, then it solidifies - something akin to spawning while dropping. Sure, it negates Hopper's ability to fly into the gold, but it would make it fair for everyone else.
