Interrupting Hunter's Overdrive

 Share

Question

I'm well familiar with the occasional Hunter trying to use its OD only to die before its OD actually paralyzes anything.

That being said, I was imagining a potential Hopper vs Hunter showdown in CTF not too long ago, and then this question came to me.

Suppose a Hopper and Hunter are in range to hit the other with their ODs, and they both don't have Stun immunity.

If the Hunter activates its OD first but then the Hopper quickly uses its OD to try and stun the Hunter, will Hunter's OD be wasted or will it still resolve?

Thanks in advance.

The overdrive is not activated/executed and the OD-charging will be reset to zero. This means that the Hunter will have to recharge his OD from 0% all the way back to 100% in order to use it again.

This very same occurance goes for a situation where two Hunters are facing each other; the one who activates their OD first will have the advantage, if the other tank uses their OD a bit later then their OD wont activate and they lose their entire OD-charge. It is for these reasons that having stun-immunity on your Hunter is crucial.

Adding to what others have said, any overdrive with a stun (Hopper's or Hunter's) will interrupt the activation of any overdrive with a warmup period - Hunter, Crusader, or Ares - and reset it to 0%.

More details on stunning can be found here.
