Who thought it was a good idea to remove Deathmatch (DM) mode?

Old player checking back in, I don't understand why the staff thought it was good idea to remove the backbone of shooter gaming.
And yes, I do know that it is available during events, you can't defend that by saying events occur often.

Well Deathmatch was unpopular mode because not enough tankers to support it. Ended up causing Alternativa removing it (and only bringing it back temporary in certain occasions).

Tbh, I don't believe that one bit. Is there a support to this claim? I know tanki likes to lie about the playerbase a lot.

Many players did not like it - the maps were too crowded and all you did was die-respawn-die-respawn... etc.  B-O-R-I-N-G.

And it was doubly bad because you got daily missions for that mode.  So many were forced to decide using the free switch on DM mission or the top-3-x3 mission.  Lose-lose.

That's false, they could've easily chosen the 10 other modes tanki is pushing.

Then change the mission or removes DM missions? Instead of outright removing a mode where I can play whenever I want.

Honestly, the only reason why DM became "unpopular" was because....

  1. A sudden increase in gamemodes in the recent years, with Assault, Rugby, Juggernaut, and Siege, which doubled the gamemodes and basically halved the number of players playing in each gamemode (although CTF has remained popular somewhat)
  2. Horrid updates that the developers have released since 2019 that ended up making a massive amount of players leave or go on hiatus from Tanki.

False?  How you figure?  I did not like it and I know many others did not like.

Just because you liked it does not mean majority did like it.

The Devs removed DM because it was unpopular.  Maybe you can provide a better explanation?

In pro battles and when you could choose what map you wanted to play in, assault mode had 3 maps MAXIMUM, why didn't they remove it? And on the other hand you had DM mode which has 20 battles in large and medium maps, rarely in small ones like Island and Sandbox.
What I'm saying in DM was always a guarantee, people were alway playing it, especially in the lower ranks.

At that time Assault was new - and because the objectives are different, they could not just add all maps.  It needed a lot of tinkering.

Why would they remove a mode they just added?  Again - makes no sense.

I get it - you liked DM.  Why don't you satisfy your DM urges in pro-battles?

In ratings top 100 efficiency, majority of players have Deathmatch as their 2nd most played gamemode. Does that mean it was unpopular?
And I'm not talking about my liking, it was just that DM was always there, no special events no bs. And satisfying my DM urges in pro battles? Really? Where I get no fund and EXP for playing? lol. DM in nonpro battles was the best way for f2p players to get fund and complete missions.

Honestly DM is a cool mode, especially in maps like Polygon. They removed it because they feel it's not a compatible with the other modes, all are teambased.

For me I see DM is way more better than TDM. And it was the main default mode after CTF. But for my honest opinion, now I just hate DM and don't want to play it. It become a disgusting, slaughter. Isida Adrenaline - Firebird IM are the dominators. Or the one-shooting with Hammer Booster all the time. Really sux. Viking OD, the player can use it and kill everyone in the sight with no restrictions. It wasn't like this before

Exactly how I feel, yet I believe it should be an option for players, especially the lower ranks.

DM is worse nowadays because of all the stupid updates, namely drones and ODs, and that's sad as it was always a classic mode in Tanki.

The DM with no drones or ODs that we had during the May Holidays event was far better than the current DM - more proof that the problem isn't the DM mode itself but rather the aforementioned stupid updates.

LOL - it was not.   Buyers dominated F2P tankers that had no team support.  Those players were often in the bottom half of the scoring and thus received a lot fewer crystals.

You have yet to offer an explanation for why DM mode was cancelled.

The official explanation was it was not popular, which I concur.  Offer a a better one.

All you needed were skills, the equipment gap wasn't too far off like nowadays. It's strange that my f2p experiences differ from yours. I still have screenshots of me placing first and top 5 (1-3 kills apart maybe) in a lot of DM matches.

I always changed DM missions. The gap between p2w and f2p is magnified in this mode. It becomes unplayable when a team of p2w gangs up on the helpless ones.

The official statement from developers included two reasons for removal of DM: one was that it was unpopular, and the other was that it didn't align with the rest of the modes, all of which were team-based after Solo Juggernaut was changed to Team Juggernaut.

DM is currently available in PRO battles (which still give funds and EXP if the battle is public), and during events.

That habit happened to stay even in nonformat battles I guess...

For my honest opinion I see whatever DeathMatch was a sux or not, it should be exist as it's the default mode of the game, and it was the one in the beginning Wasp-Smoky.

Okay guys I see DM is better than TDM, they should remove TDM and replace it with DM. If you agree give me Like and if you disagree give me Confused. For a poll sake

DM would be okay if it had half the number of tanks in the battle.

But as it was, re-spawning with your back to the same tank that just killed you got boring real fast.
