Drones accepting damage?

I would like to propose that drones now be able to take damage from shafts sniping. I know people will say that this just encourages more people to camp, but on the flip side the only people who would recieve damage from their drone are campers to begin with. Their the only people who will stay still enough  for shafts to be able to see their drones.

Good idea, though I'm not with anyone who suggest a buff for Shaft. Especially now I entered the forum to insult Shaft (and Magnum). But I liked your idea to make the game more constant and real.

Like what I suggest to allow Striker RRE to explode the rockets after dying, not because I think it deserve a buff, but because I want the game to be more constant not with ordinary unregular things.

Not necessary true. 

Let's comparing long range turrets in terms of camping, dynamic gameplay and the amount of skill you need:

  • Shaft, we all know that camping-wise (regardless what augments they are using), there is no skill needed whatsoever as you mentioned. In terms of dynamic gameplay though, it is depends on what augment they are using. Funny thing is Shaft does not necessary depending on Boosted Power than the other 3.
    • Something like HC for dynamic fight, is not that practical, though still possible.
    • Light Capacitor, mainly used for dynamic sniping, also can also be used for peek-a-boo tactic in either 2 ways (well to mimic Railgun's peek-a-boo style). However, with an aid of Booster/Crisis, LC requires much less skills as you can deal 9,900 damage maximum just in 2 seconds.
    • RFM, while encourage dynamic play, little skill is needed as you can deal 2,115 damage just in 0.75 seconds, that's more than 2x of DPS than most of the DPS turrets, even with its long reload duration.
    • Adrenaline does require you to give up most of your survivability to fully boost its effect. Encourages dynamic gameplay, little skill is required to get boosted but to survive when boosted especially in dynamic gameplay, is another story.
    • Short-band Emitter: Dynamic. Nothing else to say.

 

  • Railgun: Again, camping-wise, no skill needed. Dynamically though, it's hard to tell it requires skill or not as you can move around AND deal a hefty 1.6k module-piercing damage (Armadillo can handle that though) fairly often. 

 

  • Gauss: I say this one requires least amount of skills regardless dynamic or camping, other than preventing yourself from taking its splash damage. Arcade shot wise, somewhat need skill as it is not hitscan. In addition, Gauss completely relies an aid of Booster/Crisis if you want to score multiple kills in 1 supershot.
    • Adrenaline... hard to say about that.
    • EMP/AP supershots, no skills needed. 

 

  • Maggy (that's how I can Magnum): Camping wise, it does and does not need skill at the same time. How so exactly? You do need to calculate the correct trajectory if you want to rain down those anti-tank artillery shells, which yes, it is difficult to do that. 
    • Harpoon and stock Maggy: Dynamic but need little skills.
    • Adrenaline: Can be used on both on dynamic + camping.

Just from Shaft and its sniping mode? It would not be fair for other Turrets. If we want to damage Drones, then all Turrets should be able to do so. 

 

It would be cool if we could damage and destroy a player's Drone, but it would make most people want to keep destroying them.

  • Drones are used to give a small boost to a player. We spent a lot of Crystals to upgrade them.
  • If they got destroyed in a couple shots, then players would probably get mad that they can't use Drones efficiently.

But I would like it if Drones had a good amount of HP. Then they can survive longer, and we can use them more.

The drone is too small for other turrets to be able to deal damage. I mean it is possible, but what are the chances.

So when I use shafts I see people hiding every time so I came up with this:

The drones are able to be shot! You see it's frustrating to see people behind walls with drones piping out that you can't snipe. So you can deal damage to the tank by Sniping it's drone. Do you think this is a good idea?

I know this have little chance of validation cause a drone is not part of a tank, but please consider it. 

Btw I hope I'm not a nuisance to you forum mods with my multiple ideas :sad:

I think it's too OP and far too illogical to allow Shaft to directly snipe tanks by shooting their drone, but it would indeed be cool if you could snipe a tanks' drone and thus disable that player's drone ability for a good amount of time — say, 30 seconds to a minute.

xD that could be another idea, have drones have hp, once they get killed they dont respawn until you do. If you respawm so does the drown. that could actully help out allot for the buff drones like crisis and defender.

It is terrible idea. Shaft is the most annoying turret in the game. But you want to buff it more? Seriously, you wanna make stupid camper shaft even more better to have ability to shot drones. Ofc people are gonna hide when they see shaft camper losers scanning with their stupid lasers.

I use Shaft on my Alt and it's so overpowered it's disgusting. The ability to shoot tiny pixels and gun barrels is already broken enough.

The only way shaft would be able to hit the drone was if the person themselves were camping. Otherwise they are moving to much and the shaft cannot hit the drone
