Rework for titan OD.

What's the difference between this (pictured) and the current Titan dome?

Pretty sure a "dome shield" is supposed to work a LOT like it does now.

One side saying that its weak because:

1) its immobile for the duration.

2) it doesn't get much benefit from its OD.

3) it has way too many counters against it.

2) it wins most of the bouts against an OD viking, just use repair kit if near death.

So here are the changes I would like to make to titans OD:

1) the dome will be mobile.

2) the dome will surround the titan user, meaning that the titan that activated the OD will be the only one that is protected by the dome.

3) instead of being protected by the dome, the teammates that were in the titans radius will be given the regeneration status effect for 10 seconds.

4) the titan will have 70% protection from all incoming damage for 20 seconds.

5) during this time, the titan will be immune to all negative status effects, the only exceptions are the EMP and stun from hunter OD, AP and freeze from crusader OD, and burn from wasps bomb..

6) mammoth will still be able to counter titan like it does now, wasp bomb will only deal 500 points of damage against the titan. 

7) One titan will still be able to counter another titan. A direct shot from Ares plasma will take away almost 1000-2000 of titans HP depending on the modification and MU level of the Ares.

Making it mobile means it should no longer take the form of a dome.  It's just a personal shield of sorts and thus will not protect friendlies.

Not sure why you feel the need to give it a total overhaul. 

Identify one aspect that should be tweaked and provide an update on how it should be corrected.

Yeah true, we can get rid of the generator, and shrink the dome to only surround the titan.

I'd like to at least make the dome protect only the titan user so that the titan can move around, but also give its teammates the healing for 10 seconds.

And if needed, allow it to be immune to status effects caused by turret augments during this time. Or let it earn 10-15 points for every teammate it helps.

They are a part of the game now and we just can't ignore them. The drones provide a considerable boost and hence making the dome mobile would only making capturing flags too easier.

Why not just suggest a speed boost nerf for those drones? ?‍♂️

It is whole a lot different (man, I really need to explain how a SHIELD supposed to work). Currently, the dome gives you damage resistance, this is NOT a shield. A shield blocks damage. If assume there is only you (who use Titan) and 1 enemy

  • Depends on balancing, there are two option on the dome shields health
  1. The dome has unlimited health, but has limited duration
  2. The dome has limited health and will obviously destroyed when it reaches zero, but it will stay on the map forever unless it is destroyed
  • if you two are separated by the shield, no matter which one of you are in the dome, the damage of enemy fires will be absorbed by the shield. The HP of shield will be deducted while you are unharmed. If vice versa, you will be able shoot through the shield instead. The damage will not be blocked.
    • Tanki specific: Status effects will not be inflicted on you
  • If you two are NOT  separated by the shield, i.e. both of you are inside or outside the dome, everything works as normal.

I have no interest in suggesting a nerf to those drones as I feel that they are good the way they. Titan's OD is very strong the way it is now. Secondly, I doubt if many would even agree to nerf the speed boost of Trickster.

The main benefits of Titan's Dome is that even the person who planted the Dome dies, the dome still is present. How do you explain it when you make it mobile?

Just remove the generator and make the dome follow the titan around.

That's YOUR definition of a shield.   It's no better than the current one that offers damage reduction.

And what's the point of allowing an enemy inside the dome to ignore it?  Dome would be useless against melee turrets.

Much better as-is.

Ok, I have updated the topic yet again to make it more fair.

 

Also I'll be ignoring all arguments against a mobile dome. My only response is this: get good.

 

I'll also be ignoring "how it ruins teamwork" arguments. Teamwork has been non existant for 2 and a half years.

True, Crusader can pierce Titan, and then players can destroy it.

But some Titans can have AP Immunity, there might not be too many Crusaders in battles, and other possibilities as well.

I see the problem here. There are so many different augments, status effects, drones, overdrives, stun shots, emp, etc, etc, that trying to work out a better solution to titans dome is nigh on impossible. You will always have a small army of combos that will negate the dome and render it useless, pretty much like it is now.

Titan is slow (very slow) and that should be reflected by it being heavily armoured (more than it is now, which is a joke) and having a dome that actually protects and ignores everything for a set amount of time. I recommend 10 secs and any team mate within the dome only ignores damage by 33% unlike titan which is immune for the duration.

To offset this 10 secs of god mode maybe increase it's overdrive recharge by 25% and nerf it's speed slightly. 

I think this is a fair trade off and gives titan back a overdrive that actually helps a team out.

One last point, mammoth/titan should both have 5000 hp.
