Discussion about legend rank players.

As you all are already aware, Legend ranked players make up a good portion of the player base (probably about 1/3).

So now its time to discuss how these players make you feel in general.

For me, I don't like them in general due to experience, for these reasons that they tend to act:

1) rude, toxic, disrespectful (especially towards non legend ranked players).

2) high and mighty attitude, like only their opinion matters because they're at that rank.

3) ruining other peoples fun in some way or form.

4) tryharding. 

 

Now if a legend ranked player doesn't do any of these things, then I'll be more than happy to respect them just by that alone.

It has nothing to do with the rank, it's about the personality. I personally have never been disrespectful towards anyone just because their rank is lower than mine.

True, but I've experienced this more with legend ranked players than with players of any other rank. That's why I view legend ranked players negatively in general.

TO has increased xp gain and with all the event boosts it is too hard to not rank up to legend in a short time. I used to like isida healing because of less xp/crys but now it has changed. To really want players to rank up fast.

You shouldn't feel too bad if you are stuck in a match full of legends, because not too far in the future, you will be one them and learn how to play with them

Before I got a legend account, I was scared of legend players. Now that I have three legend ranked accounts, they don't really scare me anymore. If anything, seeing how bad teammates and campers exist even at the legends ranks kind of make it look much less glamorous. Now I enjoy going up against legends in my lower ranked accounts, to see how much I can compete against them with a handicap.

Here in the forum the only thing matter is your posts/reputation points, I barely can notice anyone's rank.

Also even in the game, it's a valid thing to assume that every a low ranked player have a legend account. Most of new rankers have another legend account. So bragging for your legend rank is meaningless most of the time.

only legend ranks have chance of fighting against buyers.

which means where the game balance is partially achieved until you reach legends. before 4th modules, free players and buyers both can be 9999 GS

as by the time, free players achieve max full garage and saved 5000 coin for 4th modules, they are legends already, game play is more fun when power difference is minimum. and game pace is more dynamic.

at least developer give free player trickster drone as alternative to buyer's criss.

You should have witnessed the carnage that was EN2 back in the day. EN2, a server set up for people ranked around colonel, was being flooded by Legends, who belonged in EN1, simply because they wanted to wreck M2 kids with their fully upgraded M3 equipment.

I don't think it's the legend players that are the issue, it's matchmaking itself that's the issue.

When you see a Legend player, you know they're going to be better in terms of tank level and overall skill. This itself wouldn't be much of a problem for you.. if matchmaking didn't put you in a match with Legend rankers. For me, I'm getting pretty close to Legend rank, so it's expected that most my battles will have Legend players in them. But, matchmaking has caused me to suffer heavily because I'd be at General rank trying not to die from the 9999GS Legend players.

But the feeling wasn't directed toward matchmaking. Sure I have my issues with MM, but that's a different kind of discussion.

Entered a mid rank parkour battle on my main, and damn everyone was so friendly and respectful towards one another, it felt like I was seeing a myth. I don't remember the last time where this happened.

 

So I decided to drop them all the goldboxes I had on me, would've dropped more, but I only had 10.

 

In legend ranked parkour battles, if I even greet them, I would've been sneered at or even targeted.

I don't get why legend rank is always being view differently. Those players, including me, are just ordinary players. They are not necessarily more skilled or big buyer. Or vice versa.

It is just a name of the rank who told you have reach max level. That's all about it. And with the stupid XP boost, it is not even hard to do it (if have have zero care about the GS and being fun).

Rank not matter anymore anyway, there was once this greedy thug I knew last year who was at Commander one day and then the next day, at Legends.

Well, it's quite different from someone who has very little experience in the game

 

Legend rank means there's a minimum amount of experience in the game.

In many cases that means they...

- understand the rules better

- understand the maps better

- understand better how equipment works best in certain situations.

- have better equipment

---> The game changes from lower ranks to upper ranks.  It gets faster, and with more potent items unlocked in later stages it gets more dangerous.

 

Experience means a lot more than you give it credit for.  That's why the permanent experience boost is a huge mistake IMO. Players rank up too fast now may have a better rank - but they don't have the experience.

 

You single out Legends for some reason.  Are you saying Commanders or F.Marshals are less egotistical?  They are just 1 or 2 ranks lower - pretty much the same thing.

I am a Legend player. But I did not have 9999 GS until Legend 15+.

I saved Crystals as a F2P player and used them on one combination. This is how I got strong and became a Legend rank.

I hope to upgrade my equipment as we proceed and as I get more Crystals.

 

Other Legend players are pretty average to handle because they have Defender Drone, like me, but they can also have pierce Augments and EMP/Stun Augments.

But i still like playing against them.

Compared Legends, commanders and Field marshals are alot less common. They might not be less egotistical, but the real fact is that it happens alot less often.

I can't explain your expectations.  Only you can.

No idea what your specific gripes are about.

Do they disagree with your strategies in battles?

Are they unhappy with your performance?

Are they giving advice and you are maybe being defensive about it?

Some people think that legends are being bossy or toxic to non legend players. This may be true in some cases, but it can also be vice-versa, Whenever I happen to be 1 of the few legends in a battle(which hardly ever happens), I am usually called a buyer, and ganged up on just because of being a legend _{camping with shaft has nothing to do with it =D.}  So it can be both ways

For the first question, I don't discuss any strategies at all.

Second question, if there's alot of legends in one battle, I leave. And even if I stay, I mostly stay out of their way. And even if I didn't do as well as some of them, why would that make them unhappy?

Third question, advice, I haven't been given any for a really long time. And even if it is offered to me and I don't agree with it, why would I be defensive about it? If it was for someone else, I can just offer up something that I think would be better for the player that's asking for advice.

I feel like I finished the game once I ranked up to Legend 1. The rank requirements stayed the same but the xp increased by a lot. I went from Marshal to Legend in no time and I do not even play that often. I feel like I am a fake Legend. Too bad there was no multi-rank in between Generalissimo and Legend. A while back I was suggesting a "Hero" rank and you would need to go through a few levels of that rank before reaching Legend. Oh well. I guess I'll just hang around now waiting for the new toys.
