What kind of games (besides tanki) did you play growing up?

We all had games we used to play while growing up, guess you could call it a trip down memory lane.

I played alot of single player games growing up. I remember having a ps2 console and my most played games from there were FF12, transformers armada (lol, i was always scared of the heavy units, thought they were gonna give me a massive mudhole stomping ? )and the more realistic version, ratchet and clank, road trip, some wrestling games (I liked the ones that had GM mode on them, those were always fun), an ATV game (don't remember what it was called) and an Arc the lad game.

And then later I got a couple more FF games, A couple call of duty games and even a GTA game. Never finished them though cause well life. I was a teen then.

Also had a game boy system which I mostly played golden sun, final fantasy 4, final fantasy tactics: advanced, and a mario game.

On PC, I had a massive 3 disk game called FF7, it was really fun. Other than that, I played some simple internet games like a version of pocket tanks, territory war, crush the castle, and destroy the village.

Then I went to talisman way before it went to mobile, after that I found tanki.

How about you guys? ?

When I was growing up, my family got a Wii. I played a lot of Mario Kart Wii (including the online races) and Super Mario Galaxy (At first I progressed rather slowly, but then I suddenly REALLY liked the game and I went through a lot of levels really quickly. I never finished it though, one of the boss battles was just too difficult for 10-11 year old me.) The Wii broke around 2014 which sucks.

I also occasionally played some games on my Dad's phone. My favorite game was a game called Chalkboard Stunts. It was a 2D racing game where you could build your own maps and post them online for people to play. I made a lot of levels, but when I was playing it most actively, I'm pretty sure the community was already in the decline because only two of my levels made it to the Popular page (A chronological list of every map that got above a certain number of likes. I think it was 5?). It's gone from the App Store now. :sadge:

Around the time the Wii broke, I got a 3DS for my birthday and I played games like Mario Kart 7, Pokemon X, and Super Smash Bros (I was only half-decent at the last one though ). I still have it and it still works, but Tanki takes the spotlight nowadays.

EDIT: I just remembered that I used to play Flash games on a site called onemorelevel.com. I haven't been on it in a while and tbh I have no idea if it would even work now that Flash is ded

I feel like this topic has been made a bunch of times again and again lol.

Also, I would not consider Tanki Online to be a "mobile game", as it spent 80% of its lifetime on PC browsers, and the current mobile version isn't fully optimized for all mobile devices, such as my new LG Aristo 4 which costed like 200 dollars but Tanki is pretty much unplayable on it due to the constant lag, 1 FPS,  and freezing.

Nevertheless, here are some mobile games I play:

  • War Robots
  • Plants Vs Zombies 2
  • Brawl Stars
  • Clash of Clans (Only when my clanmates need me for an extra war attack)
  • Roblox (Only when my BFF wants me to play it with her)
  • Clash Royale (Only when I'm super bored)
  • Boom Beach (Only when I'm ultra bored)
  • Cybersphere (The only game me and my younger brother regularly play with each other)

Yup. I precisely remember at least another topic called 'players who aren't playing tanki now, what other games do you play?' Or something like that. I play plant vs zombies the original as I tried the new one out and it freaked me out with the strange graphics xD. As for computer games, bonk.io is a very fun browser game; it's basically a game where each player have a 'ball' which they can control to hit or 'bonk' other balls. It's totally f2p and there's not even an OPTION to buy. It's great!

Plants Vs Zombies 2 or 3?

Also yeah the graphics look a bit off at first, but eventually I got used to PVZ2's graphics....

Now the graphics of PVZ3 back in 2020 were crappy as frick, it will never stop agonizing me lol.

-io games are cool hehe. I never heard of Bonk.io but I'll try it.

My favorite -io game is surviv.io btw. It's basically a 2D, simplistic battle royale game that's honestly easier to follow than games like Fortnite and PUBG, for someone like me that is.

FunFact: I mainly got into that game because it managed to load even though my internet was slow, so yeah lol.

It's a third person shooter game with cartoony characters.

Very fast paced battles and each character has their attack and health already built in, there's no "weapon and hull" component like in Tanki or in other shooter games where you equip a desired weapon on a desired body.

Overall, its pretty simple but there's a lot of characters to choose from (when you unlock them) and you can customize their "Star Powers" and "Gadgets". Since you play Tanki, in Tanki terms, those are "Augments" and "Supplies", basically. But more balanced and fair.

I think if you're still playing Tanki it heavily implies you're still growing up.

Depends on when the player started doesn’t it. And I don’t think that’s always the case too

Many grownups I knew ingame still play the game since a long time back I’ve heard.

Aaanyway, the only games I ever liked were TO, CoC and a single player car game called LA:Street racing, but they weren’t things I’d call what I “grew up” with, except maybe the car game lasr which I used to play with my next door neighbor in turns a day each week. We  did play tanki then too but not much, either way we’d end up fighting over turns and get chased outside by my parents : D

I still do play Tanki whenever I feel bored, but just pro battles

Back in the 80s all we had were cabinet arcade games the required coins (quarters) to start. Some were used for local competition.

Missile Command, PacMan, Primal Rage, Asteroids, Tempest, Mappy just to name a few.

The idea is to get so good that you "flip" the game - usually at the end of 256 levels it restarts with new parameters as long as it was the game started on the same quarter. But arcades began to lose money on those games as many were able to make one quarter last for several hours, so the manufacturers began to implement limited levels .

I still play a game that stood the test of time as it has been around for over 1,500 years: chess

Skywars has been very hard for me since I havent had much time to refine my pvp skills or have a good mouse lmao that could at least get a consistent 6-7 cps. Everytime I start Skywars I get thrown of the map in a few min (feels like I am getting too much knockback , way more than in bedwars. If u play Skywars or SkyPVP you must be good at pvp yh? So why is Bedwars hard for you. Its way easier imo.

I don't play Minecraft that much, sometimes I leave the game for a long months without a single thinking. So definitely I'm not skilled in pvp. Players are having quick hits because MANY of them are basically hacks. I'm now playing with around 8$ mouse, and it performs good. In the past I was playing with laptop touchpad and I was more skilled than now, I was seeing it as more than enough, till my laptop touchpad stopped working I start to use mouse.
