Is buying product kits and containers really useful?

In my opinion product kits are definitely worth it, you can get combos you like for a cheaper price. Containers are a different story, most of the contents of containers include cosmetic items (e.g paints, skins, shot effects etc..) so your chance to get a good item (such as an augment) is pretty low. On top of that, containers can be obtained for free in many ways (shards, challenges, missions, special missions and the list goes on. More info about that can be found here)

Buying Product Kits is useful.

For Containers, you should not buy them from the Shop. It has a random drop chance, and can give you something you don't want to use, like a random Paint, a Shot Effect you don't like, ... Instead, we players just get them by doing Daily/Weekly/Special Missions and the Challenge. You get Shards from Missions which you can use to redeem Containers. We also get free shards daily, so you can get at least 1 Container a day for free!

Another way(s) to get Containers is from Contests and Events on the Forum! Check out the things it offers. You can get a lot of Containers if you win!

Agreed with other players here. If all of your items in the product kit are mk1, you can get then cheaper to mk7 than buying all modifications at a 50% sale! So I definetely recommend searching for these offers in the showcase.
