Bring Back "Hmmmm"

Recommended Posts

Can you add the "hmm" reaction back to the list of reactions?

?

It was removed and replaced with the "shrug" reaction a while back...

?‍♂️

The reason I am asking is because there are a LOT of posts that I am not sure whether I agree or disagree on and I need time to think about it, you know, stuff like that.

"Hmm" clearly expresses that....

But since you replaced it with "shrug", when I use the shrug reaction, it gives off "I don't care" vibes or something like that.

Overall, add "hmm" back and you can keep "shrug".

The "hmm" reaction was used for trolling and only few users used it properly. Due to that, it will not be returning to the forum.

How could you know that for sure?

Because we had this reaction before and users used it to troll others.

You know I could say the same thing for the saw it reaction.

I could also say that the shrug reaction is being used as a dislike button.

...are you aware that the shrug reaction is used for the exact same thing? ?

At least the thinking emoji can be used to convey something where the shrug is just a [Removed] reaction, no matter what the context.

This is exactly what I think of the shrug reaction.

It's also feels more disrespectful if someone types up an essay on the forum only to have a bunch of shrugs as if the audience doesn't care about the post, than compared to  a bunch of people thinking about what they feel about the essay which is what hmmm implies, even if it is "trolling".

I think shrug is being abused more than hmm ever was (if at all).

Yes, but Maf doesn't want to remove it.

I do not think that shrug can be used for anything negative.

Anything that closely resembles a dislike button is technically a dislike button. And shrug resembles a dislike button.

The sad is rather lile a dislike than shrug. It literally can't have a negative meaning.

Sad reaction is hardly ever used unless the player thinks its sad. I see way more shrug reactions than sad reactions. And that's because shrug literally is a negative reaction or at least its being treated as such.

Lets say sad is dislike button and you see many sad reactions on a post where someone passed away and the topic starter wants to honor the life of that person. What's there to dislike about that kind of post? Are they disliking the fact that the topic starter wants to honor the deceased?

First of all that doesn't make any sense, and second, that'd be incredibly disrespectful.

Honestly, I really like the ? emoji and I'd like to keep it, but unfortunately people did use it in a negative manner, so I replaced it with ?‍♂️ to make it as neutral as possible. I still think that a reaction to convey uncertainty is useful to have, so I guess we'll keep the shrug for now.

The thinking emoji was a really friendly way to show uncertainty. The shrug emoji just comes off as snooty and rude, and inappropriate. Just like the old confused reaction did. Remember that?

I don't code it — I just spend my free time pressing random buttons on the forum control panel and pray they don't break everything ?

The worst emoji is this one?, whenever i receive it, it make me angry because it gives me a notification for nothing, it is like "i saw your message but i dont care about it" atleast the shrug emoji says " i dont know" " we cant do anything about this" or " i dont care".

@FrozenRailgun like to give these kinds of reactions, just see his reaction given, lot of time he sent me notification for this ? emoji

well it doesn't matter what reaction is given, at least @FrozenRailgun actually reads it. Common this isn't some reddit platform. (Joking aside) To me I don't really care what reactions I get or status I just want to get my point straight across. I'm usually blunt when it comes to it but most of the time I enjoy being on forum.
