This should be the case, it seems to be the way to 'balance' Tesla. Also tonk want to sell stuff by making it appealing after majority of players are displeased with location locks.

No offence to the developers, but I don't see any need to "test" 20 minute battles - players already made it clear following the last test that they found 15 minute battles too long for Matchmaking, why would we need to test battles that are even longer?

To give my feedback: I think the perfect time for Matchmaking battles would be 10 minutes, as others have already said - any long than that would be too much. However, the current 7 minute battles are also fine.

10 minute battles are good, because they allow a better chance for comebacks and more strategy in matches, and also given the sometimes long load time into battles that many of us experience, this length of battle works better. But 10 minute battles are also just about short enough, that if you get stuck in a match which you don't like, for some reason, you will only find yourself there for a bearable amount of time.

Here are some reasons why battle length longer than 10 minutes would not be a good idea for Tanki in its current form:

1. Unless players are willing to quit matches, if they found themselves in a battle which they didn't like - they would be forced to endure it for an annoyingly long time.

There are many different reasons why players might not like a particular battle - some hate certain maps or modes, or alternatively your team might be heavily underpowered compared to the enemy, and be getting crushed - however for some reason, perhaps that the enemy is not focusing on the objective or the fact that your team is somehow just about holding on - the battle does not end before the match time limit.

An example of this would be the painfully awful CTF matches in 14 v 14 maps which most players (including me) despise. It is very difficult to capture in such large CTF battles, and such battles often end 0-0 or 1-0 after 7 minutes. Most players totally give up on the objective and only go after kills, as they know capture is nearly impossible. Being forced to be in these games for 15 minutes would be truly awful, 7 minutes is bearable.

The fact that we can quit matches is not a solution, as between queue and load times it takes quite a long time to get into each battle - so having to quit is very annoying - and also there is no guarantee that if you quit that you will like the next match either. I try not to quit battles, but if battle length is increased beyond 10 minutes I will sometimes have to start quitting, and that will make the game a lot worse for me, and many other players.

2. Certain daily and weekly missions will take FAR too long (and too much experience for low ranks) if battle duration is increased to more than 10 minutes.

Given the recent change to weekly missions, the difficulty of completing both daily and weekly missions is now very much affected by battle duration. If battle duration was increased to, lets say 15 minutes, "Finish X battles" / "Finish top-3 in the winning team in X battles" missions will take more than twice as long as they do now with 7 minute battles. Many players already find that the "Finish top-3 in the winning team" missions are too difficult to complete, and if this is made even harder they will be furious, and this will make completing missions like this extremely painful.

If battle duration was to be increased to more than 10 minutes, the requirements for these missions would have to be heavily reduced - but I don't see the developers being willing to do that. Therefore, best not to implement such long battles.

3. Players will be more likely to quit battles early after fulfilling the requirements for missions.

If you have a daily mission for let's say, "Gain 300 score in CTF", good or well-equipped players can easily complete this in a 7 minute battle, and almost all players can manage it in a 10 minute battle. If you have finished such a mission, and the battle is close to ending, most players would probably stay to the end. However, if you complete your mission in the first 6 minutes, and 9 minutes are left to play - a lot of players with limited time to play might just quit, and queue for another battle.

4. If players don't have much time to play, 20 minute battles are just too long.

Some players are short on time, and only hop on for a quick game or two. They might not have time for a full 20 minute battle, or if they have to go due to real life reasons it will be very annoying to quit a battle where you had already put in a lot of work, with no crystals to show for it at the end.

5. Greater than 10 minutes is too long.

Just. Too. Long

Just like 12, 15 or 20 minute battles would be too long, this post was also too long. Short posts are good, and short battles are also good. Keep battles short!

Long posts are only bad if there content is garbage. your post made sense and should be acted on by the devs, but when do the devs ever listen to sensible player feedback unless it's to THEIR benefit.

I live in hope. Lol.

But really, if battles are increased to 15 or 20 minutes that would be hideous for me. A lot of players would quit because every time you roll something like Lost Temple CTF, or find yourself in a bad battle it will be very painful indeed, whereas you can easily endure it for 7 minutes and get your missions done right now. I don't want to be forced to quit and then endure a 2 minute queue + load time to get a new battle, only to get into another battle I don't want to be in for 15/20 minutes. And completing daily and weekly missions with battles that long, would be awful.

10 minute battles on the other hand would be perfect - it is very hard to get the right length I will give that to the developers. But the way Tanki works with the weekly and daily missions system, along with Matchmaking in its current form - things are finely balanced - too long battles would be a disaster. I really hope they don't change to 15 or 20 minutes as that would probably cause another huge loss of players, perhaps including me.

After playing long  20 min battles, I'm losing supplies at a even faster rate. Sometimes I have to leave mid way because Im trying to conserve my supplies and batteries. What makes longer battles also unplayable is being placed in large maps like berlin, massacure, highways, etc. trying to do capture modes but this also encourages heavy camping thus making it almost impossible or to be able to complete the objectives since the match drags for too long.

I really like the 20 minute long matchmaking battles. I would suggest that developers keep them this long because battles are more fun playing with longer battle time because players can make higher points and get more kills.

I bought the Gauss XT bundle, and I have to say, that I feel lucky and very satisfied. I was able to get two of my dream items in the same day. I got Gauss XT and was able to pull Crisis Drone!

@MysticBlood was able to pull his dream items. Augments for Railgun and the Armadillo Protection Module.

Umm maybe i would have given this bundle a try if i didnt already own all augment from it, the 4th module slot, and if it contained the violeNt shot effect, i also like gauss xt but thats fine i might get it in an uc somedays XD

If you want longer battles, increase the star rewards. Not same crap reward... In 7 minutes battles you get 3 stars (if first). In 20 minutes battle, same crap reward (3 stars). So, now we play 2 more battles (7+7+7 minutes), for same rewards ? Before, we played 3 battles (21 minutes), and we could get 9 stars.

Why should I play more, for same reward ? Put 7-8 Tankoins, and I can play 20 minutes.

Matchmaking placed me in this 1 sided farming game that has around 3.5 mins left;

Clearly looks like an 11v8, i feel sorry for the blue team who are being farmed, I left it immediately. In no right mind am I staying here for even a dozen seconds.

Also not even 5 mins into the game and this is more than visibly one-sided (it did end in 8mins luckily so less suffering for enemies, but still a lot of suffering):unknown.png

WE do not want longer battles. We want a fully occupied game and a short battle duration. At this point, I don't think feedback from players was actually taken properly.

Tanki knows that it's players play more during weekends. More players playing at certain times than others creates an imbalance, so they want to discourage those players from playing during weekends.

Who said Tanki doesn't care about balance?

Has anyone experienced a gradual drop in fps the longer the match lasts? I would start off with 240fps max settings, when every 5 minutes pass by, it would decrease to 200 -> 150 -> 100 -> 50? Like how does that even work?

After reading all of these posts, it is extremely clear that the majority of the player base does not want these 20 min battles. I say it would be better if it was set to 10 min. next time....

Yes I find that odd as well I started at 180 fps at max and all of the sudden huge drops but I have good internet.
