Split mm based on gear score.

Recommended Posts

This goes strictly against what the russians intend for the game, this idea is to add some balance, tone down pay2win and maybe even some tactics but with all the wall hacks etc its not probable.

Atm guy who's best gear is 3k gear score is matched against someone who has disappointed his blood line by spending that much money in this game. There is no way to win, and tanki says it's balanced fight, 3k gear score regular vs disappointment over 9k.

Split the matchmaking by gs. It takes up ur most used equipment of the month as a baseline, so disappointments to family fight other disappointments, other people fight other people and low rank disappointments. Simple.

It's rejected cause it's against buyers, that's obvious.

This idea has been suggested many times but it won't work.

I totally expect a reply from you to my question.

What are you gonna do when a dude with maxed garage equips a mk1 combo and gets into matches with Low ranks and changes equipment to Mk7 ones?

Yet again, can be easily manipulated.

Why I do not like this idea is because as @Iron_Man said, it can be manipulated. Someone could wear high GS items, and then pick weak items to sabotage.

Another reason is that, if we are all just paired with similar GS, what is ever the point of upgrading?

I think once the ratings page is fixed/updated, MM should be based off of Efficiency rather than GS.

It would solve the many exploiters/cheaters on the Efficiency Leaderboards, as it would take longer for them to find a match.

We will wait and see. This could give Tanki a ladder MM system.

Yes, tanki should not do this, this reminds me of another game which is called "asphalt airborn 8" a very famous android game, and when you upgrade your car, you get match with stronger cars, for example, i had a cheap Tesla car (class D-> the worst cars you could fine in term of their capacities, not design) which i liked alot therefore, i fully upgraded it but then, i was matched with lamborghini and ferrarri(class S -> the best cars you could find) that could drive up to 350 km/h and could go up to 100km/h in 3 seconds, so i could not even play with my favourite class D tesla after i fully upgraded it, by then, i was wondering what was the point of upgrading items (cars) in that game ?? i was so sad i couln't even play with my favourite car anymore if i wasn't aiming at the last position of the race while if they would have matched me with class D cars, i would have won each races, (i was so good at driving, i was even better than how i am in tanki -> i was top 100 in the leaderboard to give you an idea) , now imagine if they do it in tanki, there would be 0 reasons to upgrade garage and tanki economy would be crashed to the ground.

Then i created another account and played on it with that car i liked alot but ended up saving alot of coins which i was using just to buy cars, not to upgrade them, it bored me so i did not play it until ages now maybe 5 years, so thats why i like tanki, what i play for, are actually two reasons: the first one is to have fun, the second one is to save in-game currency, which is crystals to upgrade my garage (grind aspect). Without that second reasons, i can't last too long in a game. For example, PUBG Mobile, i played it 2 years, from its release to july 2020, i rate it 20/20 as a game, but im not playing it because there are no grinding aspects because its 100% free to play, and the fun always finish to fade away, if you do something ine time you will find it fun but after doing it 1 000, it will start to get boring. Thats why i stay in tanki that long, the more you will invest yourself, the more you will have fun thanks to an OP garage, but i have to admit that tanki is just a killing time now, after 9 years on it i don't find too much fun, im just playing to grind now.

This idea was suggested 100 times before. And the reason why it can't be made is that it's abuseable, as other said, and, you don't need to upgrade your equupment. Even if you are a legend and have full mk1 garage, you could play against recruits.

If a dude who plays a whole bunch of m1 gear for a month not once touching m7 gear joins low g's battles and picks mk7, then limit the g's gap or don't use the months average but literally the gear user picks and let him change gear 1k gear score each way etc.

If someone wants to sabotage what stops them from simply... Not playing?

Efficiency... People who are efficient to spend all their parents money on tanki etc first will be matched against high ranks. A newb who is good at game and efficient may be matched way out of his equipment.

Asphalt ain't game. It's a video. I've won races which involve moving and turning, while being away from my pc making coffee at kitchen. Game steers and accelerates for you.

There is no point in upgrading ur gear if you'll just play against similar equipment..  There is no point in getting global elite in csgo if you'll just play against other global elites... But people still do.

How about the devs revise their MM system so that no player goes against anyone more than 2 ranks above them, problem solved. (mostly)

If implemented correctly, yes it will work.

I came up with a similar idea months ago, but in more detail and it would have worked.

The devs have had a very long time to sort this major problem out but choose not to, game economy reasons no doubt.

There is still old players crying over this idea?

There is many issues with that idea (some obvious ones have already been listed above), and more importantly that would go against the tanki business model. ?

Still it is a game, there are lot of ramp which will affect your place in the race, also you can use the nitro differently and lot of intersections that need you to curb, lets see if you can win a match with class S cars matched with other REAL players, i hope you weren't talking about the easy carier mode. But thanks god, tanki isn't matching players according to their gear scores.

The issue with GS 2900 vs GS 9500 has everything to do with MatchMaker rank-spreads.

It allows Majors to face Legends.

Since ranks are somewhat limited on how far they can upgrade, you should be campaigning to have the rank-spreads tightened up a lot.  Max diff at upper ranks should be 5 or 6, not 11.

If the rank-spreads are tightened, you won't see extreme mismatches like we do now.

I so a sergeant in my battle once not just one more than one

the rank spread is insane

MM must be based on ranks.. - the problem solved. But what happens now is the opposite, high ranks can play with small ranks.

I think if MM was based in GS it should be Plus-Minus 500GS for the average GS of the rank. If we assumed average GS for Marshal is 7500, then we can divide them into 7000GSs and 8000GSs matches.

Raging in MM won't get you anywhere. Quit the game at that point. Or take a break. Works for me.

I have mk6 gear at my rank. I have more than double, often triple gear score of everyone else and I dony rly fit in those battles (I play only isida and Viking, had maxed gear to my level before mk update) and in my legend acc I'm at 8-9k xp and even then it's practically unreal to kill someone with 9999 disappointment score. You hit them for like 200 damage and they 2 hit you with Vulcan or one shot with shaft no scopes.

MM was a good concept, but because of the way the devs have handled TO over these last 2-3 years they have lost a large number of players, mostly due to the OP updates that only buyers benefit from. In a nutshell, less players means bigger rank divides in battles.

If the devs rethink their strategy and actually introduce balance and revise a lot of their decisions then maybe player numbers will return, if they don't then TO will carry on being a unfair, unbalanced, P2W only game and the numbers will never go back up.

Basing TO purely on cash flow generated from P2W is starting to take it's toll as seen by the decreasing player numbers.

They want more players then they have to compromise between cash and player satisfaction. (balance in battles)

The solution is easy if they have the foresight and the will to make changes and at least try and overcome the huge disadvantage non buyers have.

Rank spreads in battles is just one of many fixes the devs need to make to get the numbers back up, if they don't reverse some of the appalling changes they have made then it will never happen.

You have one maxed mk5 - the rest are mk4 or lower.

And the only reason you have the mk5 is because you benefited from the m-to-mk conversion AND then sat on the account for a long time.  If you played this account over the past year it would be at Legend rank.

No one at your rank can get an mk5 viking - even in a kit.

This account is the exception, not the rule.

Rank in this game means absolutely nothing. If ure legend on m0 gear ure as strong as recruit on m0 gear

The game is boring, quite trash. Every match is like a practice area where opponents don't rly shoot back.
