Archive Idea Topics In Subforums For Different Categories

This would be a big change and that's why I'm adding a poll.

I think there should be subforums for different categories where topics from this section could be moved to archive them, after a certain amount fo time.

That would make it easier for forum helpers to deal with them and it will make it easier for everyone to find topics and ideas.

Today this section is a mess with so many Category topics floating around.

 

PS. Can a helper add a poll with Yes and No about this idea?

We archive only completed and declined ideas. Now why do we not archive valid ones? See there's always a scope for a user to reply if they are not archived. If we archive them, you can't reply

It would effectively kill the scope for future discussion, which is not exactly what we want. 

The ideas with merge tag, get merged with the respective category topics, after they have been reported and the discussion has faded. 

Oh and by the way there is a way for you to search for ideas on basis of category, with the help of tags  So search always makes your life easier.

How about just having subforums for categories where posters can continue discussing old topics if they want, no archiving?

What I don't like about the current system is that when topics are merged it is like archiving them, because these get lost withing the many pages and we don't even know which is an idea and which is a reply.

Personally I don't go to Category topics to discuss other posters' ideas nor discuss ideas I posted, posters are lost in those topics.
