So if you're lvl.1000 on google earth like me, you've propably encountered some interesting stuff about the planet we live on. Maybe you've got places you'd like to visit, a fascination about a city,  mountain or a lake. Maybe you've found interesting history or stories connected to a location. Do you live near an interesting sight? Do you often wonder what life is like elsewhere?

Whatever it is feel free to discuss it here :)

Here's some stuff:

USA looks like a grid!?

Spoiler

If you surf over the US you'll quickly discover this sad and dystopian pattern.

Here's what it's about;

A huge Australian cattle station

Spoiler

So I was wondering what's going on in the big largely uninhabited part of Australia, and there is some really interesting stuff, reserves, weapons test sites, opal mines, all sorts of secular communities, a lot of small bushes, and also Anna Creek cattle station or beef-city. It's the largest in the world of its kind.

The congo-rainforest has a loch-ness monster

Spoiler

I found this while browsing videos about the Congo rainforest. It's a legendary dinosaur called the Mokele-Mbembe, or the one who stops the rivers. Below is undeniable proof of its existence :P

I had heard something about the thunderstorms. I've always had a fondness for extreme weather, just can't help watching stormchasing videos and disaster-reports. I've had this site foldered for a while now, there is some great pictures: https://stormchaser.com/

The dam thing I had no idea about. It's crazy how much China's hydropower is changing the world. I just recently watched a video by CaspianReport on the future plans of China to change some of the Himalayan waterflow from Tibet towards China. I'd link it, but idk if it's too political for tanki. Stories like that always make me think back to the soviet plans for Aral.

There is this place is called Salar De Uyuni and it's a 10,000 square kilometre Bolivian salt flat, the largest in the world. In ancient history the place used to be a lake, and during rainy seasons the plains can still get a cover of water, although it's apparently very thin and the whole lake can look like a giant mirror. Amongst the sea of salt there are a few islands with unique flora and fauna, it's esentially a lake with salt instead of water.
