Change to Assault flags

It's really hard to win as the attacking team in Assault. At least in my experience, with all the Titans, Saboteurs, Dictators, Miners, and Isida Support Nanobots, it's just really, really difficult to do anything. And I feel that the attacking team doesn't apply enough teamwork. It's always "Get the flag, activate every supply, and become the Tanki equivalent of a kamikaze fighter," while the rest of the team is off in Camper Land.

So here's my suggestion. When a member of the attacking team is carrying a flag and they drop it (whether through destruction or pressing F), the flag stays there. Another team member can then pick it up and keep going. But if a flag is dropped and a member of the defending team touches it (like how you return a flag in CTF), then the flag goes back to its holder.

This would help because now the defending team has to actually do some work and not just sit behind their wall of mines. Also, the attacking team could use strategies such as a Hornet taking the flag most of the way, then dropping it and giving it to a Mammoth, who uses their OD to push through and capture the flag.

This would definitely be good, at least from my perspective, considering that this will make the game mode a bit more challenging for the defenders.

I remember that your idea is just like as it was firstly introduced to the game, then they changed the flag drop to instant-self-return as it is now since those days it was too easy for attackers' team to gain scores.

Oh, cool, I never knew that! Maybe if this idea happened, the points for capturing a flag could be reverted to 5, not 6.

I don't think it's so hard to win, because the score per attack was increased to 6. Also, it'd now vecome too hard for the defenders with this change, and actually, as an attackee, it's possibke to drop the flag to someone if you are on it ( at least, that was the case few years ago. I don't know if this changed).

What if a player is sitting to the spot where the flag appear but the ennemies dont return it, it is a situation where the attackers team can be punished, i suggest that the flag self return after 3-5 seconds so if the tanker dies, the one driving behind him has the time to pick it up but if defender dont want to return it to sabotage the attacker, it would self return. For example, imagine in berlin assault, the attacker lost the flag just before capping it, it would be so anoying for attacker to try to get it back but just before he gets it, the defender return it, it would be so frustrating for the attacker so that's why i suggested that the self return takes 5 sec max, otherwise your idea is pretty good.

This is my least favorite mode too, for the same reason. It's impossible to get anywhere as an attacker. I hoped this idea would fix that somewhat.

i already mentioned an idea making the attackers and the deffenders equal, i'm sure you forum comentators remmember " double assult "

it consits of both teams attacking and defending at the same time, making is much more interesting. both teams have flags to attack with and also have a base to defend. flags surrounding the base. in that way players can choose wether to attack or defend make it way more interesting!
