Improving tank hit box- Tank hit box should be based on your position and not as the enemy see you

We have a hight problem, called update of server positions between an player and another

This is variable for each country

But what i suggest here, is that the hit box when you receive the shot, will be based on where you see you, and not the enemy

Seeing clearly in this video, how the server works, currently there is no resistance between a person with delay and another person who receives it

That happens almost every time when i receive an striker shot that just not hit, also ALOT of railgun shots that hit me if im behind a wall because the game needs time to receive and update information that im trying to search the video

The reason it works that way is because it gives the most comfortable experience to the players. The issue is caused by lag, and lag will always be there to some extent. With the current algorithm, the delay due to lag is compensated for on the server side, whereas all the input is recorded on the client side. It's hard to explain in words, but to put it briefly:

  • With the current system:
    - you sometimes get damaged by shots that looked like they missed
    - you deal damage with every shot you fire on target (with rare exceptions)
  • With your idea:
    - you never get damaged by shots that don't visually hit you
    - a lot of the shots you fire end up dealing no damage, even though it looked like you hit the enemy

The answer is obvious — it's much better to be able to consistently deal damage even if it means that you'll sometimes get shot through walls.

P.S. This isn't related to the tank's hitbox, but rather to the location of the tank and enemy projectiles on client side vs server side.

Yes, I noticed that from a while, Tanki is giving some advantage to the one who have lags or high ping. Honestly though I'm not the one who have the lowest ping or a very good internet, but I think Tanki have to stop this. Though it have benefitted me alot. I see it's not the problem of the one who have a quick internet. Especially in xp/bp battles, where some a skilled player have to absorb alot of shots he dodged it in real.
