How To Be a Good Teammate

I do that and the enemy attacks me and leaves my teammate alone.

I don't know if it's the way I move or what but when, for example, a Freeze is firing to both me and a teammate and I move to another angle of the enemy, that enemy turns the turret or hull to continue attacking me, when I was wanting the enemy to continue attacking my teammate that's standing still and I attacking the enemy from another angle.

Because of that sometimes I want to be the one standing still and my teammate be the one moving, but since I don't see that happening... life is so hard

I find that the decision is usually based on;

a) The smart reasons, they want you out first because;

  • You're damaging them a lot or you're using isida, in the 1st case you should prob just accept it. With isida you should obviously just heal your teammate from the back.
  • Your the quicker kill. If you teammate has prots or your tank is weak then you should propably let the teammate engege first. After your teammate has engeged, if you have a quick hull you can flank the opponent, you can also just engage like a 1/2 second later so they'll have a harder time switching the target back on you.

b) The dumb reasons;

  • You've pissed them off and now they're targeting you at all costs. In these cases you can just put on some prot/ equip a counter to their combo and focus on the objectives, targeting is only a good tactic if you are the powerhouse of your team, or if it provokes you.
  • They're too stubborn to swicth targets; Espesially twins do this, you can often outplay players like this by driving to cover or out of range. While they're trying to get to you, your temmate is dealing the damage, then if they switch to your teammate you re-engage.

c) No reason. It's just not your lucky day :(

I've always used titan so I can provide a shield to teammates. Typically people want to follow you for that protection and so following a guy who wants to capture a flag and then providing a bubble for him to chill in to regain health or whatever is perfect. I almost never use the overdrive for myself.

Don't fire on your team mates from behind. I know it sounds stupid but it happens all the time, Freeze gives you a squirt as it goes by and I automatically hit the overdrive button and prepare for the attack.

Defend the objective , CTF and Rugby the whole blasted team tearasses off to the objective leaving the flag/goal wide open.

Drop a mine as you go past. Killed, respawn, drive past the flag/goal then drop a mine as you go.

Quit the game if it's a whitewash. There's no point hanging around getting spawn killed. It's a waste of supplies and will cost more than you will make even if you are number 1 on the losing side. If everybody quit games like this there would be no point in playing the domination tactic as nobody would make any crystals winners or losers. Then the buyers, exploiters and the just plain a55hole players would have to play better not pay better.

Play something other than Viking/Ricochet FFS.

Turn your turrets. Every game I see 2/3 of the players can't turn thier turrets. How can you be a Legendary player if you can't do this simple thing?

Don't play like an a55hole.

Titan, hold your overdrive till it really matters not just because you are low on health.

Don't get mad at the guy defending the objective for not attacking. I will sit on our objective and actually use my lives and supplies to stop the other players scoring. I will without doubt come last in the team although I may have done the most to win. Where did you think all the damn mines came from? It actually costs me to play like this but often I am the main reason our team won.

Equip a team friendly drone and use it well. Drop loads of mines or heal everyone. Titan defending use driver.

Change your gear if there are too many like you or not enough. No isida? Change. Too many w4nkers with viking/rico change, please. . .

Use the chat. If you have a magnum camper tell him where his shots are landing and guide him in, this is how artillary works ITRW.

Use gold boxes to distract enemy but use chat to tell your team what you are doing. You'll always get some noob who ignores you or is Russian and goes after it anyway. A few Golds can turn a losing game around.

Play the objective. CTF? then try to cap the flag or defend it. Don't play TDM! Lots of the whitewash games are because one team is playing, say, Rugby and the other is playing TDM. Okay if you have a do damage in XXX mission then equip to defend or attack the objective not just rampage around the map killing the stragglers while the rest of their team wins.

Play a combo suitable for the map. Titan/freeze is not going to do well in Berlin or any of the larger maps.

Change protection to suit the enemy. It never used to be worth it with 5 minute long games but now it's worth taking the time to see what is the "to55ers turret of the day" and equip for that. Don't equip a protection that won't do you any good. If you are playing a light hull is there any point in equipping shaft protection? It'll one shot you no matter what. Freeze is unfortunately the same, until it get's nerfed eventually, it's practically intant kill 50% protection or not. Same with Tesla.
